How to unlock the Fireworks achievement in Mass Effect: Andromeda - Definitive Guide
Once you have unlocked the skill tree page you want to pay particular attention to the small marker in the upper part of the skill emblem. A power that is a primer will have a small symbol on the upper left side. This information is also written in yellow in the power description. For example, I am using Incinerate first on enemies, it is a priming Tech power (and super good).
Then you need to unlock and equip a detonating skill. This will be marked on the top right with an explodey type icon. In the yellow text it will state if it detonates primed skills. Personally, I've been using Throw (another good one is Overload).
It's important to do them in order, Primer, then Detonator. Have fun watching them explode!
Her other two abilities, Lance and Throw are both detonators. So it's as simple as activating Annihilation, getting close enough while it's active, and then using Lance and/or Throw to Detonate.
Annihilation is also available under Biotics in Campaign and does the exact same thing. So if you can't unlock the Asari Adept in MP, Spec into Annihilation in Single Player.
To do this, you need to have selected both a Primer and a Detonator from your skill tree. The Primer will have a symbol in the top left of the icon and will also tell you in the description that it is a Priming power. The Detonator will have a symbol in the upper right of the icon that looks like an explosion, and will also tell you in the description that it is a Detonator.
Personally, I've been using Incinerate to Prime and Overload to Detonate. You need to make sure that you do them in order. Primer (Incinerate or other Primer) and then Detonater (Overload or other Detonator). Doing this in order on an enemy will cause a huge explosion.
Do this 100 times to unlock the trophy.
Power combos are done by using a specific skill to "prime" an enemy and then a secondary skill to "detonate" that same enemy, resulting in increased damage. You can use any combination of primer and detonator, as well as being the one to prime while an ally detonates or vice versa, but they must be done in that specific order for the combo to work properly. So, first use one of the following Primer skills or wait for an ally to do so:
- Annihilation
- Assault Turret
- Barricade
- Cryo Beam
- Energy Drain (Extended Drain upgrade)
- Flamethrower
- Incinerate (all upgrades except Detonator)
- Nova
- Pull
- Shockwave (Lifting Shockwave upgrade)
- Singularity
- Trip Mine (EMP upgrade)
Then once that enemy has been "primed" you will need to hit them with one of the following Detonator skills or hope an ally does:
- Charge
- Concussive Shot
- Energy Drain (all upgrades except Extended Drain)
- Incinerate (Detonator upgrade)
- Lance
- Overload
- Shockwave (all upgrades except Lifting Shockwave)
- Throw
- Trip Mine (Detonator upgrade)
This achievement can be worked on in both SP and MP, in any combination.
In order to earn this trophy, you will need to perform 100 power combos by combining Primer skills with Detonator skills. When Primer skills are used, the enemy is set up in a state where a detonator skill can set off a very powerful explosion, resulting in a power combo.
You can either equip a primer and detonator skill and do this trophy by yourself, or you can use your teammates to prime enemies for you. The best teammate for this is Peebee as she often uses Pull to launch enemies in the air. You can use any of the detonator skills to create a power combo. All your kills from single player and multiplayer counts towards this trophy, so do it with whichever mode you prefer.
Skills that act as Primers:
1) Pull (Biotic skill tree)
2) Annihilation (Biotic skill tree)
3) Singularity (Biotic skill tree)
4) Incinerate (Tech skill tree)
5) Cryo Beam (Tech skill tree)
6) Flamethrower (Tech skill tree)
Skills that act as Detonators:
1) Concussive Shot (Combat skill tree)
2) Throw (Biotics skill tree)
3) Charge (Biotics skill tree)
4) Shockwave (Biotics skill tree)
5) Lance (Biotics skill tree)
6) Overload (Tech skill tree)
7) Energy Drain (Tech skill tree)
Some Primers and Detonators can also be interchanged at times. For example, if you use Overload on an enemy, that enemy becomes stunned. If the enemy is hit with Overload again, it will create a massive discharge resulting in a Tech Power combo.
It is important to note that some Primer skills such as Pull or Singularity are not effective when used against enemies that have shields (blue health bar on top of the red health bar). So remove the shield before using the Primer Skills for maximum effectiveness, and to not waste your ability during combat.
