How to unlock the Always Prepared achievement in Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Definitive Guide

Here is a list of the armors you can buy in the game that will go towards this achievement. I compiled this from the Mass Effect Wiki pages to find out which ones were best for my style.

***EDIT: You should get plenty of credits just playing normally through the game, but if you don't want to lose any credits, you can make a save before you buy them, then reload your save after the achievement pops and be as you were before it. ***

- Terminus Armor: Batarian Citadel Store. stats - 30% Shield Boost, 15% Ammo Capacity, 15% Melee Damage.

- Blood Dragon Armor: Hanar Citadel Store. stats - 20% Shield Boost, 30% Power Damage, 10% Recharge Speed.

- Collector Armor: Asari Citadel Store. stats - 20% Health Boost, 20% Shield Boost, 20% Shield Regen Time.

Cerberus Armor: Volus Citadel Store. stats - 20% Health Boost, 10%Shield Boost, 20% Weapon Damage, 10% Ammo Capacity.

Inferno Armor - Human Citadel Store. stats - 30% Power Damage, 30% Recharge Speed.

All armor is 50,000 Credits at the corresponding stores. They are 55,000 credits on the Normandy.

Will buying them/researching them in ME2 and then importing pop it?

i dont believe so. they recently updated the game to limit how much credits you can take from each game. i never personally never tried to do that, because i knew the games well already so i just waited till i had enough credits to buy two at once, then reload the save before i did that so i never actually spent anything on them. The only thing to my knowledge that actually ports between the two games are your experience points and credits (and choices of course).

I bought 3 armours now (got 47k back by going back to a save,) I saw the tracker 2/2 but still a day later the cheevo hasn't popped. It also never recognised my Paramour from ME2, so for me so far, 2 cheevos are broken. My hubby's cheevos have worked fine though. I don't understand 🤷‍♀️

@UbiSubject17 JFYI Romancing Liara in ME1 doesn't count towards any of Paramour cheevos. Loading save before Ilos and going for Miranda this time unlocked Paramour II achievement (since I got Paramour I in ME2 for Liara). As for armor one - I don't know, just started ME3.

To the above that isn't true at all, I romanced Liara in ME1 and got the first Paramour without any issues. They were/are just broken atm

Romancing Liara in ME2 doesn't count as it didn't count in the original ME2 as well, romancing Liara in ME1 counted for me no problem. Btw - the Reckoner Knight Armor also doesn't count towards the "Always Prepeared" achievement. Pity since it costs only 40k credits on the Citadel.

Thanks for the list!

It's probably stating the obvious, but I'd recommend waiting until you have enough credits to buy both at once, then make a hard save, buy them both, and reload to get your money back. Especially helpful if you don't plan to use either set.

Credits can be scarce in this game, no point wasting them on an achievement!

Be warned some of these armor sets do not count. These include the Ajax armor we are given, the N7 Defender set, and the Reckoner Knight set.

Other sets from the Citadel stores like the Terminus and Collector set should count no issue.

Appreciate this. Was wondering why it didn’t pop, I purchased the Knight Armor.

You will need to purchase at least two different sets of armor for this achievement. The following armor sets from stores on the Citadel will count:

  • Blood Dragon Armor (Hanar Store)
  • Inferno Armor (Kassa Fabrications)
  • Collector Armor (Nos Astra Sporting Goods)
  • Terminus Assault Armor (Batarian State Arms)
  • Cerberus Armor (Elkoss Combine Arsenal Supplies)
