How to unlock the Power Gamer achievement in Mass Effect - Definitive Guide

Simply reach level 50. It's barely possible to reach level 50 by the end of your first playthrough. I got to level 50 just before finishing the game on Normal. If you don't get there just start a new game with your old character and playthrough again (good if you are going for the hardcore / insane achievements.)

Shouldn't take any more than a quarter to a half of the next playthrough before you hit Level 50.

Note: When you kill enemies in the Mako you will get significantly less experience then if you kill them while on foot. So if it makes a big difference to you get out of the Mako whenever you come upon enemies.

If you got experience from killing Saren the two times at the end of the game, then i would have probably made it to level 50 by the end of my first playthrough.

I finished my first playthrough at: Level 49, with 221885 out of 238100 exp.

I finished my first playthrough and got to level 50 before the final mission, but I didn't get the achievement for beating the majority of the game, so it shouldn't be to hard. Unless my game is glitched.

I don't know why I didn't get that achievement, I did as many assignments as I could before I (accidentally) went to Ilos.

I got this right before I went to Ilos. The only assignment left in the list was the minerals (although I might have missed something) and I had visited all planets. I had also completed Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station DLCs. Normal difficulty.

I got this on first playthrough with a second career on Normal before Virmire (and Ilos of course) and with only Bring Down The Sky as DLC done. I have a few sidequests left as well. The Mako trick (shoot until almost dead hop out and finish the job) netted me a lot of extra XP, thanks for that.

I got this on Normal, first playthrough, no DLC while running the gauntlet after Ilos. Did pretty much every mission/assignment possible.

SAVE YOUR GAME AT LEVEL 49! Should be common sense but I'm an idiot and was using a singular save, and the achievement did not pop despite reaching level 50 at/before the final boss fight

If you do every side quest and go over every landable planet for mineral resources (even the ones that don't show on the planet map when you first land), you'll get level 50 by the end of the game.

Note for killing tougher enemies on foot (i.e., Geth Collosi, Armatures or Heavy Turrets): Try to do as much damage as you can to them with your Mako's weapons without killing them, then hop out and deliver the killing blow on foot. Much safer and less time consuming than getting out of the Mako right away when encountering enemies.

This trophy requires you to hit level 50 with Shepard.

If you are aiming for the platinum this trophy will come naturally - you'll hit it in either your first or second playthrough. Many actions in this game give experience - from kills and completing missions to decoding objects and discovering codex entries.

Level 50 requires a total of 238,100 XP.

Do a lot of side quests. If you do them all, by the first play through you'll probably get to level 40. There is a glitch that only gives you 300xp every time, but to do it: Find Liara when SHE IS TRAPPED IN THE BLUE FIELD! Kill the enemies, save, then load the save. Congrats, you got 300 points! I would only recommend that in the early levels. Also, make sure that when on the Mako to kill enemies on foot, not with the Mako, you'll get more experience that way.
