How to unlock the Stasis Mastery achievement in Mass Effect - Definitive Guide

Use stasis on anything with a target marker 75 times. You can actually cast this on the Citadel transport stations. Cast Stasis, then Adrenaline Rush, then cast Stasis again. Wait for both to recharge and repeat.

Although, casting stasis 75 times during the course of a playthrough with several assignments won't take long and this can be a handy biotic power to keep more difficult enemies at bay when fighting additional enemies.

adepts don't get adrenaline rush, but a turbo controller and a rubber band makes up for lost time...

Like jburridge88 mentioned, adrenaline rush isn't an option for an Adept. Sentinels get it, but they lack Singularity. If you're actually playing as either an Adept or Sentinel, you'll pop these achievements in regular play. If, like me, you played as a soldier, you should start up an Adept, level it to 9 so that you've unlocked all of the abilities, and then cast all six at once on a nearby object. Save your file here, then reload and cast again. Repeat. You can get from a new Adept to level 9 in about 2 hours and then pop all six of the ability achievements at the same time in another 30 minutes.

Why thumbs down? Works like a charm as with the rest. Takes a bit if you haven't spent a few points on the adept talent tree but all is well. Thumbs up!

Thumbs down for missing the most important part. What class?

Once changed I'll change my vote.

As previously stated, Stasis must be used (cumulatively) on targets 75 times, the earliest repeatable target I found for this was the Prothean Beacon on Eden Prime. At the end of the level, kill all the enemies, and DON'T press A when targeting the beacon. Just hit it with Stasis (and whatever other Biotic abilities you have you need to grind for an achievement) until you ding.

The Mako also serves as a nice achievement grind tool for your powers.

This worked a treat for me, I had already completed the game twice so had used this power quite a bit. Just needed another few casts and hey presto!

In addition to the above statements, it helps to have a biotic amp that significantly reduces the recharge/cool down time. This means you may have to wait til you get to the middle of the game, but it helps keep you from have to stand in front of a transport station for a very long time waiting for the power to recharge.

Definitely more fun.

In some ways the save and load method (to me) can take just as long as the recharge. I guess it boils down to how you like your gaming experience.

You don't have to stand and wait. Only put points where needed so that you can use all biotics in the citadel on the transport console. Just save before using all skills and then load, rinse and repeat. No need to get far in the game this way. (Must admit it is more fun throwing enemies around.)

If you want to do a different method or a lazy method in getting this achievement and you don't want to do the long, boring, normal grind for this achievement. cry Then pull out your turbo controller and do the following:

- pick a class that has or have this skill obtainable
- when you have this skill available to use, go to the Citadel and face a Transport Terminal (make sure to target the little blue circle on it) and make sure it's safe (away from enemies)
- during normal gameplay hold the "RB" button
- highlight "Stasis" then press "X" (Map Skill) to assign it to your "RB" button
- let go of the "RB" button
- set the "RB" button on turbo on your controller
- rubber band the "RB" button down (make sure you are still facing blue circle of Terminal)
- then watch TV, go on the internet, go to sleepsleep, go to the bathroom, go eat, or go to the bathroom and eat.

You can just let your turbo controller and rubber band to cast and recast the skill for you.smile In the mean while do your chores, do your fun homework, or go to work and come back later to get your cheevo!

Happy boosting! wave

This achievement is earned by using the biotic "Stasis" ability 75 times. It can be earned very early in the game; in fact, I got it on the first mission to Eden Prime, without reloading.

Start by creating a character and select the Adept (pure biotic) class. After the introductory cutscene, pull up the menu by pressing start. Select "Squad" and put two points into the Barrier talent. Where you put the other one is up to you. Exit the menu by pressing B (cn_B) twice.

The next thing to do is explore the entirety of the Normandy (the ship you're on), examining everything and talking to everyone, to earn as much XP as you can before the mission starts. Leave talking with Nihlus for last so you don't miss anything.

Then begin the mission, and again, examine everything as you go. You'll get into a couple fights as you make your way to the dig site, likely gaining a level on the way. On the right side of the dig site is a ramp leading up towards some buildings and your first encounter with husks. If you haven't missed anything along the way, adding husks to your codex should give you just enough XP to hit third level, right as combat starts.

Immediately (before fighting them!) turn around and run back down the ramp (hold A (cn_A) to run). At the bottom, there are two openings in the wall to the dig site. Right about where the second opening starts, there is an invisible boundary between zones—cross this and you will be out of combat, and the husks will disappear!

Now that you have a moment of free time, press start to call up the menu again, then spend your fresh new talent points into the third and fourth slots of Barrier to unlock the Stasis talent, and put a point or two into Stasis. Exit out of the menu.

Hold RB (cn_RB) to call up the power wheel. Highlight the shiny new Stasis power in the Shepard section and press X (cn_X) to map it to the RB (cn_RB) button.

Look toward the far side of the dig site and hit up on the D-pad (cn_up) to command your team to move there, where they'll be out of the way and won't kill your toy husk. Now all the preparation is out of the way and you're good to go.

Creep forward until you've crossed the invisible line and the husks reappear, either in front of you (if they chased you down the ramp) or up the ramp. When one is in sight and within range, target it and tap RB (cn_RB) to put it into Stasis. Then take a step backward, across the boundary, and the husks will vanish again.

Wait for your power to refresh (about 60 seconds at this low level; you can check by holding RB (cn_RB) to bring up the power wheel again). When it's ready, creep forward again and the husks will reappear. And what do you see? The one you put into stasis is still in stasis! While it was vanished, its timer wasn't counting down!

You can now cast Stasis on it again, even without waiting for the previous stasis to wear off. If the other husks have made it to the bottom of the ramp, it should take them a second or two after appearing to turn around and find you—but by then, you can have already stepped back and made them vanish again. Or you could target a second husk for your next Stasis, or let your team kill them off. Anything in stasis will be unable to move or act, so they cannot attack; they also cannot be attacked, so your target husk should be safe from your team until you back up.

In this way, you can keep the husks in stasis perpetually, and any others will be disoriented every time they reappear. After doing this 75 times, your achievement should pop.

Adept class, I suggest doing this in the main quest on Noveria where you are tasked to get Lorik Qui'in's data, within the first ERC5 guards you encounter, you can literally keep one alive then stasis him, walk up the stairs to the right in the room (Synthetic insights offices) and bring your companions with you so they dont kill him, then wait, and do the same thing over and over until you get it because he will never charge you.

Create an adept character as they are the only class with access to barrier, lift, throw, stasis, singularity and warp in their skill tree. It will be faster to work on these trophies using the one character.

You can earn this over time playing through the game using this on enemies you encounter.

To grind this and avoid spending too much time playing through the game again you can cast this on the Citadel Rapid Transit platforms (fast travel points). There is a blue circle on the CRT, aim inside there when casting.

Depending on the biotic power being used you may need to level up a bit to have enough points to purchase the powers needed to unlock trophies.

Stasis unlocks after putting 4 points into Barrier.

This power, like Neural Shock and AI Hacking, needs a real target.

Confirming on the real target needed. I spent way too much time spamming Statis on a Platform after all the other biotic powers unlocked.

Use biotic stasis 75 times - An easy method that will bag you this achievement if you do not wish to complete a playthrough as an Adept class. Unfortunately, this achievement will take about 30 minutes to an hour to attain as it relies on you creating a new character and watching the cutscenes etc. to get to this point in the game. Nonetheless, this is the earliest and quickest way I have found that will allow you to earn the achievement. Using a save scum method will allow you to tally up the uses of biotic warp without having to play through the game and/or wait out the timer. The 'stasis power' only counts as a 'use' on a marked target. Simply using the power in general does not count.
