Breaking the 4th

Breaking the 4th

Earn a x4 multiplier in Challenge Mode.

How to unlock the Breaking the 4th achievement in Max Payne 3 - Definitive Guide

Challenge mode can be found under Single Player - Arcade.

It involves performing kills in a certain time and style for each checkpoint.
An example would be (20 seconds - Explosion Kills only - No Pills).

In order to earn a 4x multiplier you need to complete a challenge at each checkpoint.
Your multiplier will increase with each successful attempt but if you fail, it will reset and you will need to restart. The first chapter is the easiest to achieve this one.

Just complete the chapter as normal, using bullet-time to your advantage and complete the necessary challenges required. You can also use Soft-lock if you prefer as Free-Aim is not a requirement. It will unlock once you complete the challenge at the parking lot.

Wreax's solution has this achievement sorted. I'd like to just share this video with you all and show you what kind of challenges the new mode will be throwing at you whilst also offering my advice and help on how to successfully complete challenge mode as you make your way to earning the It Looked Easy Enough achievement.

In order to get your multiplayer up, you must complete challenges without failing. If you complete three challenges flawlessly, you will be rewarded with a 3x multiplayer. However, if you fail the third challenge, the multiplayer will be reset to zero.

Taking this into consideration, simply complete the first four challenges in Chapter 1 without failing any in between. The achievement will unlock once the 4th challenge gets added to your multiplayer.
