(Solo) Score Attack 15,000-20,000 XP Per Hour Method :

There's a method to rank up while you are playing the campaign, you will have to beat the Campaign once to unlock the Score Attack Option
(Main Menu > Arcade > Score Attack)

Now choose Chapter 4 Part 1, You can choose Free Aim/Soft Aim, it doesn't matter,so you will have to do and finish this level as fast as possible and you will need to do a Platinum Medal to receive 1000 XP. (Gold Medal give you 750 XP)

*CREDITS TO Hawknz from PS3Trophies.org*

When you begin the chapter, shoot the first guy you are prompted to. Then immediately skip the following cutscene. Now just make your way through the bar as quickly as possible, scoring headshots, getting melee kills, whatever you need to do to get through fast. Make sure to pick up a second pistol on your way through and switch to dual wielding ASAP.

Once you're downstairs, continue eliminating the enemies quickly and pick up the 2 PainPills on the bar. You are going for speed here so be reckless, take damage, and eat pills.

Once you exit the backdoor another cutscene will begin. You can skip it once Max is about halfway up the stairs. Once it's over you will be crouched behind cover near two cars with a bunch of enemies standing around. Shoot the blue car first and wait for it to burn and explode, killing some of the enemies. Once it has, shoot the white car second to finish off the rest. If there are any leftover, shoot them and continue on towards the final alleyway.

Once there another cutscene will begin. Usually you can skip this one too, but sometimes you can't if the game is still loading. When you're back in control you will be looking down the alley way full of enemies. Shoot the black car closest to you first. Once it starts burning immediately begin shooting the last two cars that have just pulled up further down the alley. Once they all explode, everyone should be dead and you should now have enough time on your clock to score a Platinum medal and a quick and easy 1000xp.

You can go ahead and click the retry button to start your next run. Don't worry, the XP you've just earned will be saved and you can skip an extra load screen which will save you a lot of time in the long run.

By the way, if you reach Level 50 and you didn't get you achievement while you are still doing Score Attack, go back to multiplayer and join a multiplayer match and you should get your achievement instantly.

(Online) Legit Way to Rank Up :

First of all, enter a crew, click the link above and Sign in or Sign Up for the Rockstar's Social Club to access the crews members. Once you joined a crew, join any crews you want.

Q : Why is this necessary to join a crews ?

A: When you are playing Gang Wars/Team Deathmatch, if you are playing against a crew on the other team, you will earn Bonus EXP for saving your teammates (crew members), winning against other crews , etc.

Q : Which game mode(s) should I play ?

A : I recommanded you to play Gang Wars, I usually do 1,500-3,000 EXP during a match.Kill everyone you see & rush for the objectives. You can also play Payne Killer, if you are really good to kill and be Max Payne most of the time you will earn alot of EXP.

Q: Is there a faster way to earn Experience ?

A : Grind. Simply, do every grind you can do : Kills/Headshots with each Weapons. Use each item 250/500 times , Play each Games Modes, Bullet Dodge/melee ennemies, etc. For example, if you complete a weapon, you will earn 3000 EXP (for 1000 kills) + almost 2000 EXP (for 100 headshots) so you are looking for 5,000 EXP for each weapon.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Online) Boosting way to Rank Up :

For now, we have the Chargers Sucks method which is playing a Deathmatch with a full party of 8 players and Kill everyone as fast as possible and put a vendetta on the person that keeps killing them. Going for heashots get you more EXP (75+) He recommended the Branco Headquaters map. Thanks & credits to Chargers Sucks.

If someone find a faster/better method , feel free to post one or comment here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Online) Turbo Controller way to Rank Up :

I have tried for the past few days to find a solution to boost myself while I was sleeping/out of the house and found that if you are playing Payne Killer and let you Turbo Controller on ''A'' , you will finish last and earn 150 EXP every 10 minutes. yes, I know it's not alot but for now it's seems pretty good if you are doing something else. For example, if you sleeping for 8 hours , it's 6,000 EXP a day and if you're doing this a whole week , it's 42,000 EXP. This is only for the people who wants to level up as fast as possible and wants to risk leaving theirs xbox open for a long time. At your own risk.

*If you don't have a turbo controller and you don't move for 3-5 minutes the game will kick you *

I will update this guide as soon as I gets more info, hope it helps.

Anyone know how much more experience playing Score Attack on Free Aim gives?

I already got the achievement but I'm planning on Legending. And Rockstar's Social Club is acting wonky on me so I can't really gauge how much exp I get.

Is there any risk of being banned from using the Payne Killer turbo controller method? I know epic were banning gears 3 players for similar things when they tried to boost horde waves.

For the Turbo Controller method, is there any way of replicating it without a turbi controller? Would it work by just putting an elastic band around the Left Stick to keep moving?

By Crimson Ridley on 25 Jun 2012 10:30
I tested an elastic band around the LS and RS for 5 hours and it was working just as well. You needn't press A to respawn, it will just do it automatically.

I doubt I'll get a speedy response to this since this game isn't played much anymore but I've been playing for the triple XP weekend and it seems like my multiplayer is busted because it's taking me a legitimate 40+ bullets to kill somebody and I find ways to die in 2-3 shots from the enemy, which never previously happened to me when I was playing the game. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to knock this achievement out of the way once and for all. Thanks to all!

About the Score Attack method, what determines the medal you get?
The time you need like said in the guide or the amount of points you get like said in the video?

Yep, I like doing NYM on chapter IV. I'm #75 now on the soft lock leaderboard. The craziest thing is it's glitched on me a few times where I was in last stand in the alley at the end, but the guy died and I was still stuck in last stand. That happened on this run. It was completely random, I get stuck in last stand, the car blows and kills the last guy. 4:02.96

With the Chapter 4 Part 1 arcade method I was doing it 2:10 (+25 second loading screen between one run and the other). So basically 1000XP every 2:37 minutes

Using Soft Lock is the way to go for the Score Attack run. Most of the time at the end there will be at least one guy left alive at the end where you blow up the three cars. With Soft Lock you will easily be able to find and shoot this last guy.

I was doing Free Aim at first, because I didn't want to get rusty with it for the other playthroughs, and it's really hard to shoot that last guy when you can't see anything through all the smoke. So you end up just wasting time having to go up to further into the alley to be able to see him.

Hi. If someone is willing to boost lvl50 with the turbo gamepad method, I'm here. i can let the console on for long periods. We have to be 2 persons minimum to launch a game, and the online part is dead of people. Message me if you also have a turbo gamepad, we'll arrange sessions.

Does anyone know if going legend pops this achievement or do you still need to play a multiplayer game?
0
0
By xDevilsMagiic on 24 Jul 2021 01:45
It didn't pop in score attack after I hit level 50. It didn't pop upon loading up the MP menu. It didn't pop after starting a private match, nor did it pop after the private match ended on its own.

So it looks like you'll still need at least one other player in a public playlist match to unlock ths after the Score Attack grind. The game seems totally dead atm, but it is about 5am.

Not going to risk hitting Legend and going back to level 1 to see if that will pop it.

OK, found two people in a Free Aim Deathmatch game, and as soon as the game started, the level 50 achievement popped. So you will need 1-2 other people to start a public online game to unlock this if you do the Score Attack methold.

Glad that grind is over.

It doesnt seem like hitting retry is working for getting xp in arcade. I just wasted a bunch of runs hitting retry after each run and only got credit for my last run.

Great guide, the solo method is the way to go. To not to go completely crazy, I focused on many of my grinds while doing score attack, giving a bit of accomplishment and breaking up monotony. Better get going if you start it now, it will take 600+ runs to get to level 50.

Make sure you don't have anything enabled beside soft lock. Also, when selecting retry you won't see any progress until after the last round where you select continue.

You will always only see the progress for the last run, but the progress is there. Try to mark where is your progress bar or check your xp out at the Social Club. A bit delay there, but it's definitely adding up!

Deathmatch is maybe the best choice, if you good player... i played free aim, but this is too slow method for earn more XP... so i start soft mode (i know, this is for noob xD) and I am playing Deathmatch on branco headquaters and if you good, you must kill 35-60 players per game.... I play only this mode and 2000XP per game is minimum

By leco77 on 03 Sep 2012 01:09
If I would opt to do the Turbo Controller method, do you have to join Payne Killer game modes? The reason I ask is because not many play this mode anymore, but do notice more Large Team Deathmatch game modes being played. I imagine this could warrant the same amount of XP, maybe?

Also, for the Score Attack method, you do not need to complete the campaign. I actually just played up to Chapter 5 and was able to dive into the method right away.

It might be worth trying chapter 4 in NYM rather than score attack, since the whole point is getting through as fast as possible. Platinum pays the same. I think I was averaging 3 minutes per run in score attack and I'm doing NYM in closer to 2. I'm just walking right through everyone with soft lock, dual wielding after the first room, no shoot dodging trying for headshots, etc. I hit the BT for a second as I pass the kitchen window to pop the 2 guys who hide so the other 2 are out of the back as I go around, kind of zig zag as I take the corner into the kitchen so I cap both guys without taking damage, and I use BT for the alley at the end. My best NYM time so far is 3.51.77. Put me at #207 on the leaderboard for soft lock. lol

Also, I've noticed an odd thing with the alley at the end, aside from the fact that the damn cutscene doesn't always skip no matter how much button mashing you do... Sometimes the last car in the back is detonating before it even parks. I'm not sure if it's from hitting the driver or something else back there, but it just goes all 4th of July in a few shots as soon as I get control, BT, and start shooting.

Now I don't have this achievement yet and although both guides are good way's I feel I may have found another way.

As long as you have completed at least one chapter you can go to arcade mode there is a mode called (SCORE ATTACK) - basically try and score the highest score possible by getting certain types of shot's and kill's throughout the chapter that you choose.

Point's awarded - various multiplier level's for body shot's, headshot's, kill's, explosive kill's and blowing up vehicles.

You get multiplier's for certain things such as x2 score for using shootdodge, bullet time, firing through being prone, you get multipliers for not missing a shot.

You also get penalties - 50 points for using painkillers,
- 150 per civilian kills, - 5 for being hit.

I have only used this mode on chapters 1 + 2 so far for an hour or so and leveled up from 8-10 I got 750xp 5 times and 1000xp 3 times so far the xp come's up at the end of the level.

(Edit) I have now found that Chapter 4 Part 1 is probably the fastest level to go through to get 1000xp on each time.

I know that this may not be for everybody as it is a hell of a grind and at 619,500xp playing chapter 2 620 times is some challenge but for those who don't like playing online or those who may get smashed online everytime they play it may seem like a good option.

If you decide to vote negative please comment why.

Thank you and hope it helps. (This is what i shall be doing for a while now).

What's with the use of apostrophes???

Just so you know, apostrophes are only used for:
1. ownership
2. replacement of a letter(s)
3. plural of a word already finishing with 's'- option is s' or s's

You have used them to make the plurals of loads of words- yet not all... Take it not as a grammar nazi point- but as an insight into your own language- it could be the difference between getting a job or being rejected some day!

I decide to make a new way to gain experience but I know using Arcade/Score Attack method on Chapter 4 part 1 and sure it's work great. But I found maybe a better way to gain more exp using this method! Since the servers are getting shut down on September 16, 2021. And people are currenting boosting/trying to finish there achievements. I just wanted to share to you guys if you are doing this method. :)

- Requires 2 players
- Aim Mode: Doesn't matter
- Game Mode: Team Deathmatch
- Weapons: Using either M24 or FMP G3S or LMG.30 (Level 40)
- Burst: Trigger happy or Deadly Force or Weapon Dealer (Level 32)
- Items Slots: Ammo Pouch and Autoinjector
- Map: Hoboken Tenements

How long is it taking everyone to find matches?
Feels like it needs dozens of searches to find the map again. On first load of the day, can find it 2nd/3rd search every time. The next round takes forever.

I've been struggling with this way. I'm picking the right map (Hoboken Tenements) and right game type (Team Deathmatch) but P2 almost never spawns in the correct spot. I find myself having to constantly adjust P2 so I can kill it. I'm averaging about 40-50 kills a match.

Is the spot you have to stand in that precise? What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much! You saved my achievement! I already had all multi-player achievements but lvl50, and I gave up even before starting the score-attack method because doing more than 600 times the same part didn't motivate me at all. And your method remotivated me and I got it yesterday.

This works great.

Super important to note: make sure you're doing this on "Hoboken Tenements" as it says in the solution. If you choose Hoboken Alleys it won't work, even though it's the same map.

It's hit or miss. Sometimes I get the map within a couple searches in quick succession, other times really bad luck. I went half an hour of searching yesterday before getting the map.

As far as experience, you're looking at 7500-8500 (I'd say 7000 minimum) if you get the spot right. Once I found the spot, I'm getting 95+ kills every game, sometimes closer to 110. 127 is my highest. I've stuck with the FMP and just focus on getting headshots. That many kills you're getting ~5k for kills alone, plus another 2-2.5k for headshots, plus miscellaneous, plus challenges

How exact is the spot you must be to ensure player 2 (P2) always spawns in the same exact single spot? Usually, they've been swapping between there and the left window, sometimes more the middle, and I have to adjust P2 anyways each time.

As a small note, make sure to add equipment to your sniper rifle as you level it up. There are grinds under the "Weapons" set, last page, for kills with specific attachments: "Laser Sight", "Suppressor", "Compensator", and "Extended Mag". The last one should be a given, to give more ammo for your sniping work, but having the others attached would help. Additionally, various items and 'armor' have kill count grinds, and you might as well slap one or so on (depending on weight limit) to give you bonus XP, cut down on the number of times you need to hunt down the Hoboken Tenements map. Same deal with Bursts, if you don't use the ones noted in the above walkthrough. Take a peek to see which ones just need to be used, and whether you need kills during their usage.

Experience is awarded not only for success in multiplayer, but is also awarded for completing the arcade mode “Time does not wait.”

I leveled up solo. Received level 50. There is no trophy.
I went into multiplayer mode, entered a ranked match and the trophy dropped at the beginning of the match.

Important for those who are leveling up, the servers will soon be closed and the trophy will not be available through Arcade mode!
After reaching lvl 50 in arcade mode, you need to enter any online game mode for the trophy to drop.

On weekends, you get 100XP for killing. On weekdays, 50XP. You can also get a lot of points by completing “Payne records” (a particularly simple test where you have to loot corpses).

If you still decide to download the level in arcade mode, then I’ll tell you about a little hint.

In Chapter 4, Part 1, after the shot, when you are given control of Max, do not go anywhere and shoot at the door on the second floor, from where the last enemy with a gun is supposed to come out, you can kill 1-2 opponents below. If you move or kill the third guy from below, the hint doesn't work.

The point of the hint is that while you shoot at the door, you accumulate BulletTime and Series, which is important when playing for points. And fill the slowdown scale and collect more than 10K points without blinking an eye.
