How to unlock the Clever Boy achievement in Max: The Curse of Brotherhood - Definitive Guide

It's very easy. Start Chapter 1 - Sea of Sand (1-3). Right before the end you need to make two earth pillars, jump on the second one, then erase it and quickly start drawing again. If you have problems, check attached video (4:23 mark) or my Upload clip on SkyDrive: http://sdrv.ms/1ckHSt9

It might be that you need to take the second pillar all the way up to the top, the first time I did the level I stopped it early and jumped, when I replayed it and drew it all the way up it popped.

I must have done this 5 times now, with the 2 pillars and 3 and building them both all the way to the top just to be sure and the achievement just is not popping for me

Ok. Apologies for my previous comment. The achievement has unlocked for me but, the notification didn't pop on my screen at the time. Very strange. I was sober and everything!

Video-guide of Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood to get the achievement Clever Boy. For this select chapter 1-3 and walk through the stage till the end, where you will have to solve a puzzle of 2 pillars with just 3 movements.

I hope it's usefull, and If anyone vote negative I'd like to know the reason so I can improve in my future videos.

Here is a quick video for this achievement. The video I did shows it done with 2 drawings, but you can use 3 and get the achievement.

This can be done in the end of chapter 1 - 3 Sea of Sand.

This is actually, pretty easy and still, you normally, don't think of passing trough that puzzle in that way. So, in chapter 1-3, you'll come to a puzzle (THE PUZZLE) where you'll have to draw 2 earth pillars that are placed really close to each other in order to get to a pretty high ledge and finish the level.
So, first, draw the first pillar just above the moving sand or sand lake (call it what you like) so that you'll be able to easily climb on it. After that, draw the second pillar to a double height than the first pillar, jump on the second pillar and this is the important part. Move the magic marker at the base of the pillar, hold cn_RT and while holding cn_RT, in a very quick succession, press cn_X and immediately press and HOLD cn_A until you're at the same height as the ledge on your right. Jump onto that ledge and after the loading screen, BAAM achievement unlocked dance

To add something to all the good solutions here. I can confirm that if you fail or die on your first attempt, you can still get the achievement. As long as you only use three pillars when you complete the level, it doesn't matter how many times you die.

At the end of the level Sea of Sand (Chapter 1-3) you will come to 2 earth pillars that you need to use to reach the upper right platform. For this trophy you can only make 3 drawings to reach the top. To do this, raise the first pillar up to a little above your height, then jump to it. Raise the other one up higher so that you can still jump to it and then do that. Now get your marker ready near the bottom of that earth pillar and quickly destroy it then create a new one so you fall onto it and then raise it all the way to the top. After you jump over to the higher section to the left to end the level, the trophy will pop.

Right after the 5th Evil Eye, you'll jump onto a rock pillar which will collapse and then onto a solid rock formation. You'll now be greeted with a 2 pillars you can draw and high cliff to the right. Drawn the first pillar so you can jump onto it and then the same with 2nd. Now jump over and onto the 2nd pillar. With your marker out, aim at the base and press to destroy the pillar, while doing so, quickly press and hold to drawn another pillar right underneath you so that you can now reach the top of the cliff.

So looking back, you've made 2 earth pillars, with 3 marker moves. The achievement will unlock once you reach the top and jump onto the cliff.
