To do this you must take a Defense contract, ideally in early House Davion territory where you start the game.
The reason is that high level mechs won’t spawn in these regions when compared to others, which makes your defense easier.
Always have at least 3 mechs in your lance.
I got mine using a Centurion, with my lance using Jenners
