How to unlock the A helping hand achievement in Medieval Dynasty - Definitive Guide
You must do 100 side quests on one save for this to unlock. It's not cumulative across multiple characters/saves.
At the beginning of every season, there will be around new 4-5 side quests to complete. They will be marked with exclamation points on your map. Simply travel to them and accept the quest. These always expire at the end of the current season, so be aware of how long your seasons are.
Some quests are quite easy and you can be prepared to instantly complete them. Examples are:
- Give the quest-giver a wooden hammer
- Give the quest-giver a copper hammer
- Give the quest-giver iron ore
- Give the quest-giver a recurve bow
- Give the quest-giver wool
It's a good idea to always have these items stocked in your inventory - it will save a lot of time running around.
Slightly more difficult quests include:
- Quest-giver asks for a variety of mushrooms
- Quest-giver asks for a certain food item
- Quest-giver wants you to fetch a clothing item from another city
- Quest-giver has a beef with seamstress in another town
These are still easy, but typically involve a lot more running back-and-forth which adds to how long it takes to do each.
Quests not worth the time:
- Night Hunt: Wait until night-time and kill a certain number of bears/boars/wolves
Although this quest isn't necessarily difficult if you have the right weapons, it can be annoying running around trying to find the animals. Because I had a very short season length, I tended to skip this one in favor of getting new fetch quests.
If you're able to do the majority of quests every season, you'll probably get this around year 6-8.

I focused early on getting the chapter and story quests completed with a handful of side quests sprinkled in. Once I had those knocked out (around year 3, if memory serves), I increased my season length to 5 days. This game me plenty of time to take care of repairs and upgrades and then run from town to town completing side quests. I was getting about 7 quests per season. I would run and pick up all the quests firsts, that way if I had a hunt animals quest, I could do that while running around completing other quests. I also waited to do building upgrades after all quests were mostly complete so that any cut down a certain number of trees quests were completed while I was either building or upgrading.

Any way to track how many you have completed? I've also found having more inhabitants helps with more quests per season as every 1 in 10 or 15 seems to have a quest in addition to the townsfolk

There is no general counter for completed side quests (or I haven’t found one), it resets every season.
So if you complete all the side quests every season (there are always about 5-6 of them, plus quests from your settlers, I got a maximum of 2 with a population of 50), then you can complete it in 5 years.
