The two types of mounts in this game are horses and donkeys

Horses are faster, but can carry less items. Donkeys are slower, but can carry more. If you have Unlimited Weight activated, then you don't have to worry about their carry weight.

To get a mount, you must first build a stable from the Animal Husbandry category.

Once you have a stable, you can search for an animal to buy:
Horses can be bought from Hornica and cost around 10,000 coins
Donkeys can be bought from: Tutki and cost around 5,000 coins

Once bought, your animal will automatically be taken to your stable. However, you must also purchase a saddle.
Once you travel back to your stable and place the saddle on your animal, you will be able to ride it and the achievement will unlock
