Stumps can only be removed using a shovel - to create shovels, you have to build a Smithy.

That stump thing messed me up. Turned a whole overlook into a barren wasteland and I was really wanting the trees to come back to make it look less shit

I’ve only just started and built my first house. Knowing the trees grow back would have saved me so much time! I intentionally cut from trees well away from the lovely hillside I built upon because I wanted those trees there as decoration. Took forever to lug those logs all the way back!
