Playing through 100 stages will take some time so you will want to pickup the emblem upgrades whenever available.
Early on I was able to alternate the main characters based on the current quest requirement and continue to progress that way.
Later when the stages are more challenging and I had completed the 100 quests; I only used the Hero and focused on getting his emblem upgrades whenever possible.
Setting him front and center, he becomes very over powered and one-shots everything. Even when sometimes you can struggle to keep units alive he will clear alone.
I never had to get a unit passed the General, and often only got them when there was a 30 round stage.

What Hero did you use?

@ATCS I know it is confusing but he is saying he literally used the Hero character in the game. He is purchasable DLC but right now for some players he and other characters are glitched because of the "bugs". For instance, right now I cannot unlock anymore characters in Roguelite and the Hero is one of them.
