How to unlock the Revolution Day achievement in Merge & Blade - Definitive Guide

This achievement is won using the Revolutionist character. There are two ways to unlock the Revolutionist:
-Pay 5 million gems in Roguelike
-Randomly unlock the Revolutionist in Roguelite by drawing the "Unlock 1 Character" card. This should be found in the leader blocks (character with a crown) and the ? blocks.
The Revolutionist has a 30% base chance of merging farmers into a General instead of a Blacksmith. As the character's card says, it has a chance to become "the highest unlocked unit". So, you must first merge three wizards into a General in your game. Then, any merging of farmers has a chance to become a general and unlock this.
In Roguelike, you start from square one every time. I can’t confirm how well it would work here, but I’m experimenting. Te one exception is Endless Mine, where every unit is unlocked from the start. To get this to work in Endless Mine, I had to merge three generals into a Master unit first.

I can't get this to work on Roguelike, On endless mine, I've combined the farmers into generals and had 3 generals lined up but they didn't combine again. I've also combined farmers into a Master unit on the Golem factory level but it didn't pop for me there either. So maybe it has to be done in Roguelite mode?

The game is without a doubt glitchy. So I just unlocked this in Rougelite. I had not merged three wizards together but did have them on the board. I am not sure what the Revolutionist is suppose to do but it could easily be the most overpowered hero in the game right now. Because sometimes when I get the academy upgrades merging the farmers seems to give me the highest unit I have unlocked even though I have not actually leveled any characters up to that level yet. Meaning you could potentially get late game units early in the game and make yourself pretty overpowered.
