Wizard is the 10th class you get, it costs 48k gold for a level 8 Academy in Base upgrades (79.6k total from the start, see pezboyben's guide for the Haste achievement for the breakdown). After that you'll need another ~5.3k to upgrade it 5 times to get this achievement.
