Go to Free Play first to master the timing first, then try it out in quickplay. It's alot easier in co-op vs AI, and you'll eventually get those 100 powershots. You'll also pop the Sharpshooter Trophy (100 three pointers) using this method.
Let the other team score, then hog the area where the ball appears. Make sure it's infront of you. Jump on the symbol on the ground (where the free throw line would be) then hold L1. Jump again when the ball is underneath you. When it makes another rotation, press R1 to send it flying and hopefully end up in the basket. Hope this helps with that annoying trophy.
