To even start working towards this, you have to complete the first two Academy missions before you'll be able to go to the main menu and check them.

These are the quests the game is talking about:
Step 1/4

1. Complete the Layup Mission (must be done to access the main menu anyway)
2. Change your appearance
3. Open a Beam Drop (you'll get enough Beam Shards from the gift in Academy and from the first quest)

Step 2/4

1. Complete the Swing Shot Mission (done through the Academy on the way to unlocking Quick Match)
2. Change Item in the Locker (you'll have a cosmetic from both a Beam Drop and its' quest)
3. Modify and save a Perk Point (right above the Quests tab on the main menu)

Step 3/4

1. Complete the Basic AI Match (unlocks the Quick Match as said above)
2. Play a CO-OP VS AI match
3. Play Dunk Challenge mode (failing it is enough)

Step 4/4

1. Play Free Play mode (unlocks the following achievement)
   The Practice is the key achievement in Metaball worth 33 pointsPlay free play mode once
2. Perform a pass in Quick Match
3. Catch the Ball in Quick Match

The achievement unlocks once the last quest of Step 4 is complete.
