How to unlock the This was too easy... achievement in METAGAL - Definitive Guide

This will be the first playable part of the game and unskippable. There will be floating green signs with an exclamation mark that tell you what to do or give hints. Follow these and progress through the level. At the end will be a boss, but he's very simple to kill. Spam cn_X and make sure to use cn_B when you can to use your power shot.

You'll also come across a gear in some water during this level which will net you:

This trophy will be earned by beating the first stage with the default character GAL.00/METAGAL. It's not a hard stage in any way. There are several sign posts that show you different tricks you can do. All enemies can be defeated with the charge shot. The boss of the stage shoots three bullets at you that can be jumped over. Use regular shots in between charge shots to destroy it quickly. Once you do, the trophy shall pop.

Story-related; cannot be missed.

The tutorial level introduces you to all of the controls and mechanics in the game. It's a short level with simple enemies and no real way to die other than letting enemies hit you over and over. The boss at the end can be easily defeated by just standing in place and firing your gun rapidly until all of its health is drained.
