How to unlock the Architect achievement in METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN - Definitive Guide

This one requires you to completely expand your Mother Base. FOB's have nothing to do with it. Your goal is to build all 4 parts of every platform of Mother Base (Combat, Development, R&D, Medical, Intel and Support).

Naturally playing through the game should eventually enable you to build every one of the platforms, and expand each of them as you collect more and more resources.

If you want to get this achievement as quick as possible, hold off on spending any fuel resources and common metal on development projects, as every 4th part alone costs 48000 of these. Takes a while to collect. Mining happens automatically, but pro actively collecting these in the field speeds things up a bit.

Also, at one point it turned out I had about 10000 PF points, which I spent on extra common metal and fuel. You may probably have some of these yourself. Open the PF Grade option on the Mother Base tab in the iDroid, then hit RT to spend them.

Hope this helps!

If your hurting for Fuel or whatever resource, infiltrating enemy FOB's can give you a hefty bunch if you take down the right platform. (It tells you what each platform has before you select it.)

Good one, though I believe any resource containers you steal from another FOB remain 'unprocessed' materials in your online pool - meaning they first have to be processed (happens over time automatically) and are not available for spending right away. Also, if you're unlucky they could also be stolen (back) by someone else. But it sure is a good way to grow a large pool of online resources waiting for processing.

Its IMPORTANT that you wait for the timer in afghan or africa.
I had done this the twice in the acc and it did not pop.
I got this to pop by waiting in the open world (afghan/africa).

Just to report it bugged on me too. Others having that issue, rest assured this buggy mess isn't on you only. I wonder if it has to do with having invested in FOBs early on, even though the solution here says it has nothing to do with it. I'll report back when I've maxed out all my FOBs.

Update: And.... it doesn't work. Left with the nuclear option of deleting the save and starting from scratch, after getting everything else.
Your options are either go offline and keep your full save safe online, but lose the benefit of online resources (and be careful not to go back online before deleting your new half save); or say adieu to your invested hours but redo it in a faster way as being online makes things faster; or use two boxes to keep your save safe; or forget about this one. I'll go with the last option for now.
Good luck!

If you are like me, and do not really care about trying your luck scavanging the two open world maps picking up refined resources (or getting lucky with some red cargo containers), then know there is an easier soultion to obtaining materials needed for construction, especially on the last tier for each platform:

FOB Infiltration

Once you get to a certain point in the game, you will unluck this game mode where, basically, you invade another players FOB and steal stuff, and soldiers. There is also an achievement for the activity:
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainIntruderThe Intruder achievement in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain worth 34 pointsPlay an "Infiltration" FOB mission.

Each platform offers up different rewards that scale based on the number of platforms built, and the level of security the enemy player has currently arranged. For example, if you are in need of Fuel Resources, the infiltrating another players Support Platforms are what you want to do. If they have 1 platform, then on completion you are garunteed ~4500 fuel resource. If they have 2, then that number can double, and so on. (Also, on 2 and above, you have the option of extracting via fulton cargo containers with other resources).

Each platform offers up different resources, and are structured differently, however once you learn the layout they can be easy to run through.

This trophy is fairly straight forward.

Raise the level of all platforms at Mother Base to 4/4.

Collect every resource you see and fulton every shipping container you can find. You may need to run some FOB missions online just to steal shipping containers for the resources.

Fuel Resources are the hardest to acquire, it seems, so stock up on them. You're looking at 48,000 per platform to reach 4/4.

There are seven main platforms for Mother Base, which can be upgraded four times for a total of 28 platforms. The platforms cost a certain amount of GMP, but the real issue is gathering resources to build the base platforms with. The requirements increase with each upgrade, with the final upgrade to each platform requiring 48 000 of each material needed. You'll be grinding a lot for those final upgrades. Upgrading your Fulton to handle containers or using the wormhole Fulton will greatly help here as containers contain a much larger amount of materials than cases. Unlike cases, however, containers need to be processed by mother base before they can be used. Dispatch missions also sometimes yield materials, so send your soldiers on missions that have a chance of giving them. You can see your chances of earning materials in the bottom left of the Combat Deployment section of the Missions menu on your iDroid.

You can also connect online and perform FOB missions and extract containers there, which will be your main method of earning the materials for this trophy after the patches. When invading an enemy player's base (See Intruder), you will be able to steal enemy players' materials containers using the upgraded Fulton. Alternatively, you can choose not to update the game to the latest version when doing your platinum run, earning this trophy using offline materials only. If you've been following the roadmap, you'll already be doing this. In which case, see below for information on a pre-1.06 resource grinding exploit.

If you need to grind, I recommend playing missions set in large bases that have containers. Repeatedly playing missions that do so is a good way to farm containers. Missions 12, 14 and 21 are good examples that have many containers to extract. After extracting a container, run far away from it until 'Extraction Flight Arrived at Mother Base' appears on-screen and the materials processing table appears on the right side. Then, restart the mission. Below is a video demonstration:

Kaelsig has also compiled an excellent list of material locations, which can be seen here.

This achievement is obtained for constructing all four platforms for each of the seven available platforms for Mother Base: Command, Combat, Base Development, R&D, Support, Intel, & Medical. The game will inform you early on how these decks can be built using the processed materials you find throughout Afghanistan and Africa. As for the unprocessed material containers you extract out on the field, these will slowly process into usable resources over time. The higher your base development team and the more unprocessed materials you have, the faster these unprocessed materials will be made available for use.

This achievement will take a while to obtain if you are not prioritizing your fuel and common metal resources on platform development. This is because by the time you are ready to build the fourth platform of each Unit, you will need 48,000 processed fuel resources. With that in mind, hold off on developing any items and weapons that utilize a lot of fuel or common metal. Even better, make sure you are collecting the small boxes of processed materials during your missions because every little bit will help.

Overall, this is probably the second most time-consuming achievement behind "Army," but with enough persistence it can be done without much stress. For a good in-depth guide that explains where to farm unprocessed resources, please refer to THIS LINK. Then, make sure to refer to the bottom of that guide, where the author links a video on how to "AFK Farm" unprocessed materials.

You don’t have to leave it overnight, you can stock up and then play. But if there is some kind of rush, then yes.

For those who find themselves in the same situation as me... Everything has already been completed and all that remains is to recycle resources (in my case for a bomb), but I have no desire to run around missions, and in a helicopter everything takes a very long time, so here is the video https:// youtu.be/RLEAHNLObgU The van is circulating, the snake is lying in it, and we are minding our own business) convenient

Only in this way unprocessed resources are obtained, so you will then have to leave the game overnight or just wait until the development squad processes them. They produce a maximum of 2500 at a time, you will have to wait quite a long time.

During inactivity, resources are recycled very slowly. You need to complete story or side missions.

In mission 12, we farm fuel, restart the mission and do a new one until the required amount is accumulated to create a platform. Then immediately in this mission we create a new platform, because If you go out into the helicopter, your progress will be reset. But in order to farm fuel in this mission, the Fulton must be fully upgraded.

It’s easier to earn all resources in PB tasks. We are looking for a support platform level 5-9, it is easiest there, we go through stealth (from the second or third time you can already learn it by heart), we run through the task in 4 minutes and get 12-14k of fuel

The video with farming in mission 12 is not relevant after patch 1.06, but if you have an earlier version, for example 1.02, farming will work. Otherwise, you risk spending all your currency and getting nothing. (after the patch, containers drop 75 points instead of 7500 when you try to farm.

75 karl!)

Farm resources patch 1.12 . Meaning: we collect containers in missions 12, 21 and 30, after collecting the containers and the checkpoint - “cancel the task”. After this, we go through episode 4, quickly destroy the antennas from a helicopter. And the resources in missions 12, 21 and 30 are back in place. Longer than it was, but still.

Evacuation of any container requires the presence of a developed item of the " Fulton: + cargo [2]" system. Evacuation of any container costs 10,000 GMP .

White containers. Contain a small number of units of various resources. Can be found in story campaign and FOB missions:
750: flammable / biomaterials / common metals;
400: minor metals;
50: valuable metals.

Gray containers. Contains an average number of units of various resources. Can only be found in FOB missions:
1500: flammable / biomaterials / common metals;
800: minor metals;
100: valuable metals.

Red containers. Contain the maximum number of units of various resources. Can be found in story campaign and FOB missions:
7,500: flammable / biomaterials / common metals;
4,000: minor metals;
500: valuable metals.

If you have a choice, always take the red containers first. The "Architect" trophy will require a large amount of resources: build all possible platforms of the main base.
It is useful to know that your hero can be evacuated to the main base along with the container. You need to climb onto the container, use Fulton and hold down the button

Video (en) : method of farming ROS resources. Works on PS3 and PS4 for game version 1.11.
In short, in free play mode you need to hold the left stick with a match near the desired stone and the “checkpoint” and “save” should always work. The inscription appears in the right corner of the screen.

In addition to the fact that you need to build all possible platforms, you also need to upgrade them. That is, each of them has level 4 pumping and you need to pump everything up to 4. I filled containers with all resources (priority fuel) and did as described above - entered mission 4. I climbed into the truck, lay down and left the game for 3-4 days. It’s tough, of course, but where to go? But everything has been reworked. Moreover, the remaining resources will be enough for other tasks. For example, upgrading weapons. In the meantime, we are riding like this, we can simultaneously complete external tasks from which not only resources will drop, but also GMP, plants, and soldiers!

It's simple, keep the rating of your PMC low, don't attack PBs often, as soon as the rating is low, you will be offered your PB level for attack, look where there are development platforms and levels from 5 to 9, usually such PBs are not equipped with tracking and the defense there is 8 -15 people of level below A, just grab the PB and get from 10 to 15 thousand processed fuel in 5 minutes
, and until the rating is recalculated - this is about an hour, you can capture the weak ones for several PBs..
For those who like something more complicated, you can attack the PB with nuclear weapons, steal the latter, and wait for a retaliatory attack; in a retaliatory attack, as a rule, they try to return the nuclear weapons, if your PB is well equipped, at least a couple of decks with 20 people, then the attacker will definitely be killed, even if he returns nuclear weapons, but in this case they will protect his defeat, and you will be credited with 4 million and fuel, including from 5 to 10 thousand.

The easiest way to earn resources is through PMC rating points. Just go to the store and buy the necessary resources Personally, I haven’t logged into the game for about a month and have accumulated 100k points at the rate of 4800 fuel to 1k points
