"Complete Mission 1 without any miss"
To unlock this achievement you need to finish the mission without losing a single life. It doesnt matter which character you pick and this can be done in Single player or co-op. Don't forget to change the difficulty to 'Easy' before you start.
This can be pretty tough but the first level is not too bad to be honest as long as you can handle the basics of shooting, moving, aiming and jumping you should be fine! Make sure you know where enemies will spawn and what type of attacks or weapons they have.
This level doesn't really hit you with any hard enemies, you will however come a mortar launching truck if you take the small ride on the boat before the boss. This can catch you out if you are not concentrating and dont react and take it out quick enough.
Personally i would recommend jumping over the the gap just before the boat and taking the lift into the ship (1.41 in the video), this path is really easy. You will take out a barrel of killer fish and then run into at least 4 seperate large red lobsters (Ohumein-Conga) and plenty of crabs (Chowmein-Conga) which can easily be taken out. During this path you can pick up a Heavy Machinegun, Dropshot and/or the Iron Lizard, also you can save Utan the monkey who you will see locked up in a small cage on top of a set of metal boxes. He provides a little bit of support here and there with his Uzi but he can pretty much only help you for a minute until this path ends.
Then finally comes the boss 'Huge Hermit', its not hard to beat as long as you don't miss out on the chance to get in the Vehicle (Slugnoid) before the boss starts, this saves you the hassle of having to constantly turn around to fire at the boss and then turn back around to carry on running.
When in the Slugnoid you can continue to move away from the boss but shoot at it at the same time, making life a lot easier. Make sure you use all of your Cannon as the 10 shots it comes equipped with do around 75% of the damage to the boss by themselves all together. So as long as you didn't die once during the level then your achievement will unlock as soon as the levels finished.

Not a hard achievement by any means, simply go through the level shooting all the giant crabs and bugs (Don't take the Submarine) and you will get a chance to ride a boat; take that route. When you run into the missile trucks, just throw grenades and shoot and jumping soldiers. When the boat crashes, simply jump in the Metal Slug and fire all your cannon shots (Grenade button). Some more shooting will finish off and bag you the achievement.
