Metal Slug 3

Complete Mission 3 without losing a single life, can be done in Single Player or co-op.

For the first water part follow the videos technique, taking out all the enemies and then swimming into the first tunnel. Make sure you pick up the Enemy Chaser from the first soldier you kill, this comes in handy for when you reach the 'on-foot' section so long as you can save 25-30 rockets. The second POW you save will also drop some bomb ammo which can help you against the boss and the soldiers before that.

In the second water part where you using the Slug Mariner, you can easily get through this section without even being hit once! Keep in mind that you Slug can take 3 hits before you have to bail out of it, so you can spare a couple of mistakes.

The only enemies you will come across in this section are the small dark submarines (Mini-Sub 88) and the larger brown submarines (U25U). Each dark submarine you come across can be taken out very quickly so long as you lay into them aggesively with you cannon, try to be quick and dont give them a chance to fire their torpedos. As for the brown submarines all of these can be taken out with 3 of your torpedo attacks on each of them, apart from the last one that you come to which comes out of the tunnel to the next part.

Once you are back on foot the first floor for this large section has a few camera's on the roofs and a few patrol cameras hovering over the ground, the cameras can be taken out easily but be a little bit more careful with the Patrol cameras as you can only destroy them by shooting at their front.

If you kept hold of your Enemy chaser then your gun will do a good job of homing in and taking out the cameras, grab the Heavy Machine gun from the POW you can save before the lift takes you to the next tough floors.

The first floor just has a couple of soldiers talking to each other, this gives you time to run and jump over the box next to them and melee them both with one swing. Proceed up the next lift and spam a couple of grenades at the soldiers, i find this easier as the soldier is holding a shield. If you waste too much time trying to take these first soldiers out the soldiers that spawn from the right side of the screen will surely take you out.

Grab the Laser Gun from the soldier you killed then turn back around and throw a grenade at the first soldier who appears with a shield and try to throw another one or two past him to hit the next soldier with the rocket launcher. If you dont kill one of the two rocket soldiers quick enough then they will both take a shot at you at the same time and this can be difficult to avoid.

Taking the lift to the next floor still using the Laser Gun the method used in the video works extremely well! Run to the right side of the screen taking out 2 of the 3 Rocket soldiers, then jump and aim down to hit the 3rd and the guys who spawn right next to you. Turn around and hit the guys to the left of the screen and then take the lift to the next floor.

The last two floors are really easy, for this floor wipe out the guys on the left and then jump a couple of times to give you enough speed to reach the lift. This way you dont even have to bother with the soldiers who spawn on the right from where you just came from, the next floor is simple too as there are just a few soldiers you can kill before they get a shot off. If the soldier manages to throw the rocket at you then just crouch and let it past, trying to jump over the rocket may get you hit as the rocket quickly goes up and down depending on your characters position.

For the next section try your best to heep hold of the Walking Machine you can use (LV Armor) as this will help you against the boss. If you watch 4.29 in the video, you will see a single soldier that spawns behind the character. Be sure to take him out as he will try to steal the LV from you, if he does get in and you take him out the LV will just blow up and you cant take any other enemy vehicles from them.

Work your way through this small section in the LV but slowly, try not to take any hits. Once you see two Rifle Soldiers on top of a truck jump up and take them both out. Move up a little bit more and as soon as you see a bunch of soldiers spawn from the right one with a shield and two with rocket launchers, jump up on top of the truck to avoid taking damage.

Free the POW sat above the truck and pick up the Shotgun he drops, but make sure you pick it up whilst you are in the LV so that yu can use the Shotgun against the boss while you still inside the LV. After picking up the Shotgun jump out of the LV by holding 'down and pressing A' and throw a few grenades at the soldiers on the ground, jump back into the LV and jump down to the ground.

For this last part 2 Soldiers and an enemy LV will come from the right, blast all 3 of these guys with 1 shotgun blast. Do the same to the 2 LV's that come from the ledge above but as soon as you destroy these 2 jump back to the left of the screen, this is so that the LV wont automatically walk into the next section and pick up the Heavy Machine Gun on its way.

As for the boss (Jupiter King) he can be pretty tough for Metal Slug beginners. If you still have your LV then it should make defeating the boss a lot easier, as you will have 3 hits to spare before losing the LV.

Jump onto the top of the wheels so you are underneath King's head and hammer his face in with your shotgun, it will take around 25 shotgun blast for the boss to be destroyed. Try to master the technique of jumping out of the LV as the bosses lasers sweep the screen, if you dont have the LV then you need to watch out for which way his head is facing and run to the opposite side of the screen. Same applys for the balls of fire that come from the Nukes King smashes into the ground, you can either jump out of the LV in time or quickly run to the side out of there way.

When you jump out of the LV you are invincible until your character lands on the ground, there is a small moment you are invincible when you are jumping into the LV too so use this to your advantage. If you didn't manage to keep the LV for the boss, the boss is still easily do able. You just need to concentrate on where the lasers will fire and the balls of fire will land, the small rockets the boss fires can be taken out easily too and the flashing rockets drop a weapon or bomb ammo for you.

Do it on the easiest difficulty, and with a mate, you'll have no problem not getting hit most of the time, in the water area go to the first tunnel down at the spot where you're shooting a wall to break it, go to a boat and do anything to keep it from damaging, just be careful after that, make your friend go and kill the cameras for you, the next part where you might die is at the stairwell where you come to a laser gun, DON'T take it if you've got a machine gun as you need the machine gun to shoot the enemies at the floor above you easily, so by taking the laser gun you'll need to run through the whole place to kill them and end up dieing by some guy at your floor, so only take if if you're out of ammo. after that, take one of those walking robots on the way and do anything to keep it from damaging, then you come to the boss, first learn the bosses strategy before trying this, he'll shoot bunks of waving bombs, just shoot them I suppose, when you see he's charging a laser, jump right off to the other side where he's gonna shoot, and sometimes when he's done he'll smash the floor/throw nukes and that part is annoying imo because you can die by jumping wrong or by running too early that you get hit by the laser, also the boss will be using the nukes later on to throw it down making 4 flames fall down everywhere, it's really hard to dodge that imo and it's easiest to try finishing the boss fast as possible with a friend so you won't have to dodge that more than 3 times.
there are some pro ways of using the walking robot thing to make the boss easier by going out and back into it, but I'm personally to slow to do it myself and always get damaged.
