Metal Slug 3

I could not get anywhere near 3million on easy so I set it to hard, with unlimited continues and grinded through. The nasties have more hit points therefore give you more score.

My scores at the end of each level are below:

L1 = Did not check
L2 = 286k
L3 = 568k
L4 = 817k
L5 = Pre space bit = 1,057k
L5 = Post space bit = 2,439k
L5 = Before end Nasty = 3,261k
End of game: 3,394k

I suck at this game therefore this score no doubt can be bettered. General advice:

1. Use Heavy Machine gun or your normal gun, do not use the rocket launcher etc, they do not bring in as many points as you kill nasties quicker.

2. Try to melee as much as possible this gives you more score (as Dunhamzzz says)

3. Do not use your grenades, they kill the nasties quickly for low score.

4. On level 5, on the space section you can score a huge amount of points from destroying the waves of nasties, I got just under 1.5m here. Try to keep a decent weapon and for this bit use your grenades too.

5. As Dunhamzzz points out a good bit is at the end of level 5 when the green zombies are with the 3 locks on the door. I did not find that the zombies are unlimited, they do eventually stop re-spawning. Although if you wait right until the end of the last door and kill all the zombies, a tramp comes out and drops a pussy worth 50,000 points. Nice Pussy.

Possible when on easy mode with Free Play turned on (goto help + options to enable this).

When playing through and completing the game, I got this during the last boss. I didn't even hit the 1M point mark by the fifth level, but that level is so big and has so many bosses I made it all up.

If you're getting close to the end and want to make sure you get the achievement there is a part where you are getting attack my zombies and have to break 3 "locks" on a door (this part occurs 4 times), the zombies that appear in this part are unlimited in number until you break the locks so you can just keep jumping and around melee'ing them.

Also note its possible to get a good 100k on the last boss if you jump on his brain and melee the living daylights out of it.

You get 100 points for most hits and 500 for melee.

To make this easy just make sure you can do stage 1 without dying and you can get enough points to have 3 million by the end no matter what.

Before the split path make sure you rescue the 2 P.O.W's and walk into the girl with the bag as she also counts as someone you can rescue, then go over the submarine.

Taking this path make sure not to die and rescue the additional 2 P.O.W's now drop down onto the ship and rescue the P.O.W on there. (Mmmm roast chicken)

Along this river path there are about 5-6 P.O.W's you can rescue and they can be tricky to land on the boat about all the ruckus so try your best.

At the end of the river section the crate on the ship will break revealing a Metal Slug, get in that beast!

Now fight the crab until there is a huge explosion putting him into his 2nd stage of attack which from this point means he will only fire bombs that cannot reach you as long as you hold right. Make sure you do NOT hit jump and attack at the same time, you will initiate the Metal Slug Kamikaze attack which will destroy your tank and a lot of free points.

Continue to hold right until the timer reads 30, at this point no more P.O.W's will spawn but you will have netted an extra 10!

Kill the crab to end the stage and cash the score.

My score ends as follows

By the Crab I have about 70-80K

21 P.O.W for 10000 each = 210000
The girl with the bag = 30000
Metal Slug intact = 300000
Beating the stage with no deaths gets a 100000 bonus

My total by the end of stage 1 is 721640 points, from this point on granted you beat the game you should have over 3million during stage 5!

Bonus Tip

Also when you fight the 5 helicopters in stage 2 and the similar space ships in stage 5 ALWAYS destroy the red one first!
They will blow up in a chain and you 150000 for each set destroyed this way.
