You start the level underground. Once you fight your way to the above ground, a cut scene will play. When it is done, immediately turn around to destroy the statue.

you can get this on the first mission, just keep shooting the statue and it will start talking to you telling you to stop but just keep going and blow him up

@TypedMedal125 That is a different achievement. There are two Fathers and Sons achievements.
