How to unlock the Coronation of the King achievement in Metaphor: ReFantazio - Definitive Guide
Story-related, cannot miss.
Once you’ve completed the Skybound Avatar Conquest, you’ll unlock the Save the Country operation, which will occur on the very last playable day of the game: 10/26. In this quest you’ll head to Tyrant’s Star to deal with Louis, once and for all.
Up there you’ll have to contend with a boss rush of sorts, fighting off against much harder versions of the Human bosses you’ve already faced, before taking on Louis in a two-part fight, which can take a considerable amount of time!
This part is optional, by the way, but will make the final fight a lot easier - you need to do it without taking down any optional bosses for Star Shatterer (100G) anyway. If you want, prep a save and come back to that one, though, as you can always drop the difficulty if you’re struggling.
For Tyrant’s Star and the final bosses, our only advice is to stock up on an insane amount of MP items before you set off, because there is literally no way to get MP back when you’re there - and they don’t even fill up your MP before the big Louis fight - in either phase, which is pretty mental. For that we recommend stockpiling two main meals:
- Secretest of Secrets - Fully restores MP for one ally (which you can cook aboard the Gauntlet Runner with 1 x Lord of the Lake, 2 x Mellow Milk & 2 x Marbled Bluefin Tuna)
- Cosy Steamed Bun - Restores 200MP to one ally (which the Lax Shopkeeper in Dia Franco Street in Altabury Heights lets you make Mushroom Steamed Buns for 3,000 reeves - can only make 1 per day)
- Refreshing Steam Bun - Restores 100MP to each ally (which the Lax Shopkeeper in Dia Franco Street in Altabury Heights lets you make Bracken Steamed Buns for 3,000 reeves - can only make 1 per day)
On top of that, make sure you have skills and weapons unlocked that can generate MP in fights and in the overworld. Check links below for some of the best examples there (as well as the location of the all important cooking ingredients you’ll need).
Definitely heed our advice about the MP items, though, otherwise you’ll be stuck in an hour long battle with no MP items, no MP, and relying on throwing 1,000 200 damage elemental items at him until he dies… like we did. Ugh!
