How to unlock the Summon Mask Time achievement in Metaphor: ReFantazio - Definitive Guide

There are two massively unique characters and the Archetypes they unlock when it comes to Metaphor, and those are: Junah and Eupha. Junah’s Archetype is the Masked Dancer, which allows you to switch classes on the fly, while keeping the Masked Dancer’s original skills; and Eupah’s Archetype is a Summoner, allowing her to summon massive enemies to deal serious damage on the battlefield - and inflict some handy status ailments too! Nice!

The thing with both Junah and Eupha, though, is that in order to get the most out of them, you need to collect Talisman and Masks while out and about, and then head to More in Akademeia and choose Special Experiments to craft them.

So, for the ‘Summon Mask Time’ achievement, you need to craft all of them. Hard, right? Well, honestly, it’s not. By the time we reached the last level we’d pretty much unlocked all the ingredients naturally to craft the lot. We were only a few materials short.

If you do end up a few materials short, where do you get them? Well, Talisman and Masks are often dropped by enemies and found in the blue glowing orbs in the later levels, but the best way to get your hands on them is to visit two specific shops, one for each item:

  • If you head to Virga Island in the daytime, in the main area, there are some market stalls on ground level. The one in the bottom right hand corner (if you look at the map) is run by a Boastful Shopkeep who sells the rarest of the Talisman. He sells the following items (which are all 100,000 each):
    • Talisman of the Foul
    • Talisman of the Raptor
    • Talisman of the Divine
    • Talisman of the Night
    • Talisman of the Avatar
    • Talisman of the Wargod
    • Talisman of the Femme
    • Talisman of the Avian
    • Talisman of the Fairy

  • Then, once you’ve progressed far enough in Alonzo’s Follower link, you’ll be able to speak to the Wary Shopkeeper on the right in Seabreeze Street in Port Brilehaven who sells masks which vary from day to day (except for Idlesday - AKA the end of the 5 day week).

So, in order to get the ‘Summon Mask Time’ achievement, you need to craft the 43 masks (39 for the main Archetypes and 4 more general ones) and the 16 summoning vessels (6 for the Summoner and 10 for the Dark Summoner - which you need to unlock to get this to show).

I had problems with only one vessel component, the rest are easy to find/get/buy if you go for platinum. The last Divine vessel component can be found in Skybound Avatar, on the left side of the garden where the ears are. There will be a cat there, you can go back to Moe and upgrade the last component.

The components for the vessels are purchased on the island, in the main square.

Components for masks are bought from the Yujif vendor in Port Brilehaven. To unlock him, you need to buy information about this vendor from the informant in the tavern on the island. He sells different components every day, and doesn't sell anything on Friday:

Flamesday: Fool White, Magician White, Priestess White, Empress White, Emperor White
Watersday: Hierophant White, Lovers White, Chariot White, Justice White, Hermit White
Arborsday: Fortune White, Strength White, Hanged Man White, Death White, Temperance White
Metalsday: Devil White, Tower White, Star White, Moon White, Sun White, Judgment White
