How to unlock the Tactical Strike achievement in Metaphor: ReFantazio - Definitive Guide
When you're wandering around the dungeon overworlds in Metaphor, one of the best tactics to carry an advantage into a battle - especially against the trickier enemies - is to melee them using the button until their balance gauge hits 0. Doing this will throw them up into the air, allowing you to hit the button to perform a Squad attack (which is basically the turn-based mode of the game). Doing that will throw you into a fight, and if done correctly, you'll stun the enemies and have an advantage.
So, to get the ‘Tactical Strike's achievement, you just need to do that 100 times. We managed to do this by the middle of July, so there's plenty of time to get this one done, so don't sweat it too much. You should be doing this as much as possible anyway, especially if you want to reserve MP and complete dungeons in one in-game day.
To get it under normal circumstances all you have to do is attack enemies of a similar level or higher in dungeons with X then press Y when the Squad prompt comes up. You will do ambush damage through this and after doing it 100 times you will unlock this achievement.
If you find yourself stuck with this one due to being overleveled there's a trick you can use in the final dungeon detailed in the video below to grind out your remaining ambushes. This won't work if you're max level (or close) since the enemy it uses is around level 88 but unless you've truly gone to excessive leveling this shouldn't be a problem:
