How to unlock the Shocking achievement in Metro 2033 Redux - Definitive Guide

The hellbreath is a gun that (as the title suggest) is a gun that shoots electricity and packs quite a punch in the damage department. If you are going for the Scrooge achievement I would be careful not to try get this gun Untill later on in the game as once you reach the church you can get it for free but if you are unlike me and didn't really play this game the first time the original was released and was curious and impaitent and had no idea.... Then you can do what I did which was purchase this gun on the "ARMORY" level for 250 (I belive) military grade ammo and farm the kills on the level "FRONTLINE".
The gun uses the pellet like ammo and has a gas lever which wil need to be pulled once it runs out which can really hurt you in the long run but this gun is a very good one to have when facing demons and librarians!

If anything needs changing please let me know in the comments! wave

you can't get it in the church level. You must be thinking of a different level.

Pretty sure you could, or it was the shotgun one I'm doing a run through again to 1000 it so I'll update it once I get to the church

Just want to point out that on the church level, the gun is free as well as the upgrades so you can kit out the gun how you like for free.

The best spot to knock out these kills is during the Dark Star mission. However, you need to make sure you grab this weapon for free during the previous mission, the Church. Make sure to exchange one of your weapons on the left or right (not the middle one, because it is swapped out for the flame thrower during this checkpoint, although you can get it back afterward and use a later checkpoint to farm your kills if you accidentally forget and put the Hellbreath in the middle weapon slot).

I've created a full Enlightened playthrough video showing almost every Moral Point in the game as well as pointing out items of interest, such as this achievement.

You can see the checkpoint I'm referring to in the Dark Star mission at the 1:48:04 mark in the video.

The Hellbreath is a rare and very powerful weapon but can be obtained in Armory or Church. This weapon will kill most enemies in a single hit, I recommend going for this on Frontline as it has many many enemies and you can reload the checkpoint to farm kills if you wish.

The Hellbreath, formerly known as the Volt Driver, is a significantly powerful rail gun that is only obtainable at the weapon vendors in "Armory" and "Church." The Hellbreath in "Armory" is pretty expensive so it's highly recommended to save as many military-grade rounds as possible in order to buy it early on. On the other hand, the vendor in "Church" allows any of his weapons - Hellbreath included - to be swapped out for any of your current weapons, free of price!!

Overall, this gun is effective in any situation outside of a stealth playthrough so you will definitely want to grab it early on in the Spartan Mode playthrough. Its incredible electromagnetic projectiles will score an instant kill on nearly any human or mutant enemy except Librarians. Just make sure to fully recharge the battery after each shot to maximize its power. Once you have killed at least thirty enemies with this weapon, the achievement will be yours.

In the Temple location we take this cannon from the gunsmith. Boost it in the mission at entrance D6. There is a moment when your partners open the hermetic gates, and they give you a flamethrower to protect you from ghouls. We change the flamethrower to Rail, and we kill the ghouls, load the checkpoint and again, 5-6 passes.

It is impossible to exchange, we go further through the location and boost in the caves.

in the tunnel after the temple, the flamethrower somehow randomly changes weapons. I took 3 new ones, he changed the rail for me. I thought that I took it third and the flamethrower changed the third weapon. Outplayed. The flamethrower replaced the third weapon, but for some reason the first weapon was also replaced by a shotgun, which I didn’t have in my inventory ????, fortunately the rail remained in the second slot.

On the chapter “Kuznetsky Bridge” we buy a rail, after which on the chapter “Front Line” we kill the Reds and reboot. There are plenty of enemies, one reboot is enough.
