How to unlock the Guide achievement in Metro Exodus - Definitive Guide

The 'blind one' enemies are at the very end of chapter 10 and they look like gorillas. I recommend you to play on easy or normal. There are around 5 of this enemies from the start (roof) until near the end (ladder) of the chapter where the achievement unlocks. On easy you can run through the most parts because the achievement is about 'killing' and not about caught or detected.

The Blind Ones are the Librarian creatures from the previous games; they resemble large gorillas; you encounter them in the last quarter of the game and true to their name they are completely blind.

There are about five in the game and on NORMAL difficulty I was able to crouch and bypass them all as long as I remained stealthy.

The large open area with the staircase and the upper balcony near the end has three of these, who are all patrolling at the same time. When you venture upstairs to turn on the breaker, take caution, for when you proceed to travel back downstairs, one seems to jump up to the top landing in a scripted event.

If you pass him and head downstairs towards the right there are some electronic cabinets that you must pass through in a little hallway; one of them is standing in this area. Every time I tried to stealth around him he would become spooked so I ran past him, hooked a left and ran up the last few flights of stairs. An electronic door will slam behind you.

The last Blind One who attacks you must be killed in a simple QTE. The achievement will pop after you beat the game, directly preceding the credits.

Hey you should add there’s glass on the floor during most of the path were the 3 blind ones are in the same room, if you stick to the side of the walls you can avoid crunching it 🤗

The above solution is perfect but if your impatient/already done the mission like me - literally run past them all, i had it in my head you had to not be caught or detected etc which isn’t true - just put it on the easiest difficulty that way if you get hit by one it’s no biggie keep moving just don’t retaliate you’ll be fine

In this video guide I will show you how to pass the Research Facility without killing a Blind One on the Dead City level. Now this can either be done by stealth or just by running through it grant it you don't get killed. Now the Blind Ones are the big gorillas that have been in the past games also called The Librarians. This achievement starts when you are climbing up a ladder and then get grabbed by one, you will get the achievement once you have the medicine and there is a bunch of button mashing to survive the end where the Blind One dies. Once on the ground and and its dead the achievement will pop.

Attention - Although not missable, you will have to use Chapter Select and play most of the level.

Blind Ones are located at the very end of the last Chapter 'DEAD CITY'. They are large mutated gorillas that can't see but they can locate you by sound and smell easily enough. The key here is to move past them slowly, use cans to distract them and most importantly do not engage with them at all. Alternatively, you can just run past them and use Medkits if you need to but doing so will make the interactive part of the Chapter difficult whilst they attack you.

After exiting the underground area of the Dead City you will be on the surface and need to navigate your way through some ruined buildings. Within these buildings there will be giant animals that resemble Apes that will attack you if you make too much noise. These can be snuck past simply enough as they, as per their names, cannot see. You must not harm any of them in any way while playing this section of the level. There are around five or six throughout the level and mostly can be avoided with ease, however the final three you find are all within the same small room that you must find your way out of by activating an electrical panel.

If you're playing on easy you can simply sprint through the level and just tank through any damage dealt to you. You can be spotted as much as you want, you just can't hurt or kill any of the Blind Ones.

The first Blind One that you find will drag you off a ladder via a cinematic. You must either run past this when you gain control or try to sneak away. DO NOT attempt to fight it or you will void this achievement.

The easiest way is just not to touch them, they are very stupid and not agile, you can distract them with cans!

He dies in the story. The achievement was given, I did not lay a finger on the blind monkeys.

The institute itself begins only after you meet an ape-like creature on the roof, before that you can calmly shoot the monsters

The last one who climbs into the ventilation after you cannot be killed on the campaign either, he fell and died on me, they didn’t give me the achievement...

Cans are great for distracting monkeys. Also, usually when you move/run to another room/hall/stairs, you will find that the gorillas are not following you. Tested on Ranger Hardcore difficulty. The most difficult moment, in a room with a switch below and above, I personally there, just calmly, without running, walked to the first panel, turned it on and just as calmly walked to the second floor, and then just ran through the open doors, further to the stairs on right.

He just ran past them, at the moment when the electricity was turned on, he turned it on and received damage, then he simply ran away.

If we’re talking specifically about the last room with two electrical switches, then on the “Ranger Hardcore” difficulty, just running around and turning it on won’t really work (although I don’t rule out the power of heavenly randomness).
Quite an easy way: as soon as we get into the hall, we immediately sit down and crawl to the switch which is in the room on the right (we don’t pay attention to the glass under our feet). When you turn it off, we return to the main hall, there will be a mutant on the opposite wall and behind it a passage to another hall. By throwing cans, we drive him away from the passage (two were enough for me. It’s better to throw the first can at the wall opposite from the mutant). How will you get on the trail? the second mutant will be hammering into the corner of the room. Without slowing down or paying attention to him, we go up the stairs (at this moment the stairs will be on your left) to the second floor, where we pull the second switch. This is where the stealth ends. Now you just need to run to the exit, dodging the paws. They are basically slow and clumsy. The only thing they can do is block you in narrow places. At these moments, don’t try to overcome it, it’s better to just turn around and flip in the other direction.

An analogue of the Librarian from the previous part. Only this one has big eyes, but this one has excellent hearing and an excellent sense of smell.
