How to unlock the Forest Guardian achievement in Metro: Last Light Redux - Definitive Guide

During the level THE GARDEN, near the end of the game, you'll come to a section where a large female bear attacks you. Shoot it in order to show its weak spots, and eventually she will run off. As soon as she starts to run away, follow her! After the bear runs down, she will sit down at the bottom of a large rock, and a group of watchmen will come down to attack her.

Go offensive and kill these watchmen before they are able to finish off the bear to gain this achievement.

So for anyone else having this problem, this boss battle is buggy as hell. 2/3 times I will get either stuck in the environment or trapped within the bear and will be unable to move until mauled to death. If this happens, just wait for death and restart. It's tedious, I know, but this part was clearly not very well play-tested by the developers.

This achievement is obtained in the “Garden” level. After fighting a massive mutant bear, he will eventually leave you alone and retreat back into the woods.

Follow the path he has created and you will eventually stumble upon the bear being attacked by three Watchmen. Pull out your weapon and kill all three Watchmen in order to save the bear and in turn, unlock the achievement.

After you fight the massive bear during THE GARDENS Chapter, you will find it with a bunch of Watchmen attacking it. Kill the Watchmen to get the trophy.

After defeating the bear, guards will jump on it. Shoot them, thereby saving him.
