In this mission, you will assume the role of a Captain from a remnant faction of the Spartan Order. Wounded while serving and no longer able to fight, you are tasked with helping D6 scientists Chukotski (Chook) and Anastasi (Geek) with their new combat simulator. This mission envelops a massive emphasis on combat and gunplay; there is absolutely no stealth involved here.
Essentially, there are five "tests" that must be completed, varying from three to five waves of enemies. With each wave, the amount of enemies increases, thus increasing the difficulty. Take note that on the second, third, and fourth tests…always choose the "NORMAL" test (the door on the far left). Additionally, killing enemies will net MGR, which is used for resupplying ammo caches or purchasing AI allies.
Unfortunately, a text-based guide simply cannot justify strategies involved with this mission. Therefore, please use the video provided below, courtesy of VampiresCrypt. It demonstrates the most efficient strategies in tackling each wave during this mission.
Simply utilize all the tips and strategies in the video and you should be able to complete this without too much stress. Also take note that the third and fourth tests are interchangeable, so they might not be in the same order as shown in the video. Overall, once you complete the third and final wave of the fifth test, the achievement will finally unlock.
This longer Chapter has you assume the role of an unnamed captain testing a combat simulator and is considered to be the toughest trophy to earn but there is a cheat you can use if you get stuck (credit to Salsenberg for the video):
1. For the first round you will be fighting human enemies. In Wave 1, you fight regular enemies who shouldn't trouble you too much. In Wave 2, you fight a few armoured enemies who might offer a challenge. Aim for the head.
If an enemy opens up a new spawner in Wave 1 or the beginning of Wave 2, consider restarting as you could be surrounded. By laying down claymores to stop them from opening up new spawn points, you should be good. Try putting most of the claymores on the left side near the staircase. Set up a spot behind the left pillar next to the bridge with the ammo spawn. You can see the enemy spawn and you can take cover if need be. Use your Kalash and Revolver but the Ashot doesn't help as much. Make sure you resupply every round.
2. For the second and third rounds you will be fighting mutant enemies. All 4 Waves of both rounds will include Nosalises and the winged variant. Bring a Duplet and a Kalash for the second round. Use a Revolver too. Running and gunning around the map is usually the preferred strategy for this map. Claymores also help as well.
Resupplying every time there is a break in the action is recommended. When you run out of the starting ammo cache, use your MGRs to get a new one. You can also use them in your Kalash if you're cornered.
3. The third round is very similar to the second round.
Use all four waves with the running and gunning strategy. Keep moving and don't stand still for too long once the mutants reach you.
Take a Valve rifle and a Kalash 2012. Bringing a Revolver is a good strategy. You receive A.I teammates this round but you have to purchase them with MGRs. Purchase the teams in the front first and work on strengthening the back with claymores and the like. Once you have enough funds, purchase the hefty support team at the rear and you should be good to go.
4. The fourth round has you facing human enemies again.
In Wave 1 you should take cover behind the pillars and keep the enemies from opening spawns. In Wave 2 you should purchase the support teams in the centre and in the back as fast as you can as they're good at taking the heat off of you.
From Wave 3 onwards, retreat to the second floor area right over the enemy spawn. Purchase the sniper team and the ammo stash and dig in. Make sure they don't open any spawners on the second floor. For your arsenal, choose between the Preved and the Hellbreath. (I prefer the Preved). Also take your trusty Kalash 2012 and a Shambler for your close range encounters.
5. The final round is definitely the most challenging. It is chock full of mutants and dangerous Librarians. However, you have a trusty Gatling to help you out.
Waves 1 and 2 are easy enough but Wave 3 will either make or break you. Equip yourself with an RPK, a Saiga and a Preved. Start with the Preved and Saiga on the Nosalises in Waves 1 and 2. You will need to purchase the two heavy team ASAP as the combat gets thick in the final wave. You should have enough by Wave 2. Let your teammates take care of strays and focus on using grenades to keep the enemies from breaking through the three spawn gates. Consider restarting if any of them break through before it hits Wave 3.
When you get to the final round, Librarians will start to spawn. These super tough enemies can take a lot of bullets and will kill you in 1-2 hits so be careful. Trade one of your weapons for the Gatling gun at the final round and back yourself to the rear of the room across the sea of claymores. Spin up the Gatling and dig in. Persevere and you will earn this difficult trophy.
This worked for every challenge:)
I was playing on the PS5 so not sure if it works on the 4.
