1) go to manage game and addons
2) saved data
3) do not hit delete all (will not work), press start, delete saved data, delete everywhere
4) saved data should be gone, if not keep doing it till it is
5) start the campaign. When you first get control in chapter 1, press start and check your diary, if it says not found then you're good. collect chapter 1 diary and chapter 2 diary. It'll take you about 5-7 min.
6) repeat steps 1)-5)
Keep monitoring your achievement progress and eventually it'll chime complete. Playing normally takes much longer as diaries are pretty rare in the first few levels and not worth it compared to the time spent. Good luck!

In total, there are forty-three Diary pages that are scattered about the various levels within the entirety of the game. These pages are unique in appearance: they are large brown folders with a bright yellow “M” on the front and they emit a bright glow/shine. Upon successfully snagging them all, this achievement will be yours. Also, please take note that none of these collectibles are missable; however if you do happen to miss any during either of your playthroughs, you can always reload an individual level via Chapter Select in the Main Menu.
Overall, some of these collectibles can usually be found in plain sight as you are progressing through each level while others will often time be hidden off the main path, thus requiring a decent amount of exploration. For this reason, it is highly recommended to hunt down these collectibles on your Survival Mode playthrough since exploration for resources will be necessary anyways. As a final note, collectible progress will be saved as soon as they are picked up and you can check the “Diary” tab in the Pause Menu at anytime to see a detailed checklist regarding which collectibles you have already obtained.

Note: Do not start a new game in Metro 2033 Redux while collecting the Diaries in Metro: Last Light Redux. Doing so will delete all your collectible progress (Thanks to PowerPyx for testing this with version 1.00 of the game)!!!
You must get these all during one playthrough. If you miss any, you can get them using Chapter select. I have a video guide here (credit to PowerPyx) but if anyone wants a text guide, there's one below the video:
SPARTA:
1. After you're briefed by Miller, this will be just to the right of the elevator that Anna walks to.
ASHES:
2. Before you climb the ladder with Anna, go past it and in the back right corner, burn some Cobwebs with your lighter. It will be on the ground in the back right corner.
PAVEL:
3. When you climb out of the pipe and take the throwing knives turn around and the note will be on some boxes.
REICH:
4. As soon as the mission starts, it will be on a table before the escalators.
SEPARATION:
5. After Pavel is captured, a big door will open and two guards will come out to look for you. Sneak in to the large room and there is a guard room to the right of where you came in. Go up to the top floor of the room and on the computer panels is the note.
6. You will open a door and there will be a soldier who surrenders. The note will be on a small table just inside the room.
FACILITY:
7. You'll reach a room with a number of guys and some waterway tunnels at the bottom. The note is on the other side of the waterways. You have to go up some stairs into a little room where the note is left on a table.
TORCHLIGHT:
8. After you climb on top of the train, Pavel will save you. The note is to the right on the ground.
9. There will be an electrically locked door that Pavel will ask you to find the switch for. Go right and and your objective will be behind a locked door. Follow the continuing path to the right and in a small space to your left there will be a dead body with a note on it.
ECHOES:
10. As soon as the next Chapter starts, you'll be in a bar. The note is on the bar counter to your left.
11. After seeing the flashback of the crashing plane but before helping Pavel with his gas mask, the note will be on the floor to the left.
BOLSHOI:
12. After passing through a checkpoint with the two soldiers, the note will be on a shelf to the left.
13. After you leave the main marketplace, head left and it will be on a bench to your left.
REVOLUTION:
14. After heading downstairs past the metal detectors, go into the left room where the note will be on a desk.
15. After entering the first large room, keep right and you'll climb along a few boxes. Then drop into a tunnel where there will be another door. Go through it and you will end up in a barracks of sorts. Head to the right and the note is on a shelf in a little room on the right.
16. In the large room with the fan you have to turn off, you will find the note on the computer panels next to the switch you have to pull.
17. After climbing through the fan, go down the ladder and there will be a desk in front of you with a note on it.
REGINA:
18. After you start pushing the train car, you will eventually come to a door way on your right that is marked by some green glowing mushrooms. The note is at the back of the room on a dead body.
BANDITS:
19. After saving the tied up man, ride down some more and there will be a bathroom on your right. The note is on the floor in the right stall.
20. You will come to a crossroads where the right path is lit with torches, dead bodies, and a skull above. Go through the door past it and follow the path through until you come to a guy tied up, the note is on a table behind him.
DARK WATERS:
21. As soon as you start the chapter it's on the front of the boat in a box.
VENICE:
22. When you begin the chapter, there will be a man who gets on your boat. After you get off the boat together, follow the him back to his desk. The note is to the left of him.
23. In the bottom floor of the brothel, there will be a tank with a spider and a note on top of it.
SUNDOWN:
24. In the middle of the area there will be a huge tanker. Behind it is a building, go inside and to the right is a desk with a note on top.
NIGHTFALL:
25. When the chapter starts you get off of the raft. When you do, there will be a two story broken building in front of you. Inside, the note is on the second story far left path on the floor.
CONTAGION:
26. After the soldiers start burning the station, you will come to an area where you have to head up to the second floor of a train car to get past a locked gate. The note is at the end of the train car on the desk before you drop down.
QUARANTINE:
27. After the decontamination room with two guys, head around the desk and to the right, the note is on the desk.
28) After meeting Khan again, you will approach a door on the left that he will wait for you through. Before you do, head right and the note will be on a bench.
KHAN:
29. As you're following Khan you will come to a point where there's a walkway you have to cross over. Instead head into the room in front of you and around. The note is on the floor.
CHASE:
30. After you get on the train you will come to a closed train car with some crates. The note is on top of the right one. You collect this right before the level continues.
THE CROSSING:
31. After walking across the first section ice you will be underneath the bridge, instead of heading up the stairs to your left keep going past it and underneath the bridge. Head to the far pillar under the bridge with the note on the ground by a dead body.
32. When you get to the next section of ice there will be a ship. Climb to the top of the ship with a note on the ground by a dead body.
THE BRIDGE:
33. While crossing the bridge you will come to some escalators. Before heading up them go to a room on your left with a note on a desk in there.
DEPOT:
34. The little dark one will be behind some bars. There is a note behind him. Head through the passage that leads to the note.
DEAD CITY:
35. While travelling through the dead city, you will have to enter a building with a door. Open the door and there will be a table with a desk behind it. The note is on this desk.
36. Further on in the dead city, you will have to climb a ladder to get to a roof. There is a demon guarding its nest there. Shoot at it to get it to fly away. The note is in the nest.
RED SQUARE:
37. As soon as you start the Chapter, there will be a crypt you head through. Walk a few steps and on the left is a small space with the note.
38. Further on in the Chapter, you will drop into an area with some stone pillars and watchmen, head left and you will see a small opening. Follow the path down and you will come to a room with a big coffin in the centre, the note is on the ground in front of it.
THE GARDEN:
39. You'll come to a point where you're crawling through a tunnel and you'll see a huge bear and her cubs scurry away. Shortly afterwards, there will be a dead body on the ground just to your left and the note is next to the body.
40. After you fight the bear, you’ll walk up a flight of stairs, at the top of the stairs the left is the note.
POLIS:
41. As you're walking with Miller and the little dark one, you will go past a couch on your left with a note on it.
D6:
42. After Miller makes a speech, look to the right for a radio on a table with a note on it.
43. At the end of the last stand, there will be a ledge that you climb up to. There is an ammo box there with a note near it.
Knocked it out!!!, did it like this:
1. Disconnected the set-top box from the network.
2. Deleted the game save from the console (Menu game management - save)
3. Started a new game and collected 5 notes.
4. Closed the game and returned the Internet.
5. Launch the game and get the trophy.
I assume this procedure will work in all games with glitchy trophies.
