How to unlock the Survivor 2034 achievement in Metro: Last Light Redux - Definitive Guide
This one is not necessarily any harder than Spartan, but I did have a scare mid game.
Your main issue with this mode is filter management. You get 3 minutes per filter instead of 5. Collect ALL the filters you possibly can. In areas you must use a gas mask, put it on for a few seconds, take it off for 15-20 seconds (i think you have 30 seconds from when you take it off in a contaminated area before you choke. 20 seconds shouldn't put you in any risk at all). You'll minimise your filter usage massively. Also, when it says to change filters for me it often did so like a minute before I needed to. Ignore it until your controller starts vibrating and you begin to choke, then of course you must change your filte.
Ammo isn't too bad, just don't be a complete idiot and save your MGR's for big weapons and/or big boss fights (which there are more of in Last Light than 2033, Rhino, Bear etc.) I did my redemption playthrough with Spartan which was unwise; Redemption requires stealth, and due to the low amount of ammo available it is much better suited to Survivor mode as the flawless guide by Korbex Gaming / LifeExpetency shows.

survival = harder stealth gameplay if youre not a good metro player, then redemption + survival can be difficult. if you already have problems with your filters then the redemption run will be harder because you HAVE to explore the open world stages.
rookies should always play survival + bad ending.

Survival mode is a lot easier than it sounds, especially on Normal difficulty. This makes knocking out almost everything in a single playthrough in the Xbox One version much easier than the 360 since you don't have to do Ranger/Hardcore.
Check out the video below for a full Survival playthrough of the game showing all collectibles and the Moral Points I obtained (I skipped a lot of them) in order to get the Published and Redemption achievements as well as this one for playing on Survival mode.

Survivor Mode has you scrounging more for resources like in the original Metro 2033. It is considered a little harder to beat than Spartan 2034. It also has you wearing an analogue watch and only lets you have about 3 minutes of air in your gas mask at a time.

Stealth missions were not stressful, I completed everything without problems (hardcore difficulty), in some places you need to show a little patience

At this difficulty level it is possible to complete stealth missions! You can go straight to the good ending and then just run through the Spartan.

I didn’t notice much of a difference on normal difficulty between Spartan and Survival; I actually played mostly in stealth for the sake of a good ending, where I couldn’t quickly run or reload. All the other trophies had already been received, so I didn’t try to be unnoticed always and everywhere. Except that the level with Lesnitsky was loud from the very beginning. We never ran out of cartridges, nor did we run out of filters (although there were a couple of moments where we almost ran out).
