How to unlock the Inferno achievement in Metro Last Light - Definitive Guide

I got mine near the start of the Contagion level.

Sneak thru the air ducts, watch the woman being taken away, sneak further along and then watch the guys getting shot.

Keep going right, drop into the room. Take out the two executioners. Take the incendiary grenades from the executioner.

Now make your way to the railway. There's a checkpoint right here.

You'll see a red-lit wagon in front of you with a guard. To the left, and slightly up some steps are three guys talking. Let loose with all your incendiary grenades. If the cheevo pops, fantastic. Reload the checkpoint and you're back on the railroad.

If the cheevo doesn't pop, reload the checkpoint and try again.

Took me two goes.

Finally!

I know I'd burned two enemies at once before, but could never get this to pop. I even tried throwing one on the bear's back when she's got 3 Watchmen on her, but no dice. What a touchy achievement.

Hell, even trying your method I had to reload 5-6 times because one of the two guys wouldn't catch fire at the same time as his buddy. But thanks for the tip since the checkpoint is so close it wasn't too much of an issue to reload.

The flame grenades in this game are not very good. Gimme the Fire Bottles from Red Dead Redemption any day...

I tried killing all sorts of mutants to no success. This worked first time. To be clear, in description you should say stay to left of tunnel and go upstairs (3) and 2 guys are by radio. Spam them with incendiary & pop Cheevos is yours.

Geez i had to reload this about 10+ times and it still didn't unlock. I got peeved off, so slaughtered everyone in that location and threw a few through a doorway around the corner and it popped >_> Thanks though, still a good location as it's very close to checkpoint!

I was able to get it on my first try. You have to aim at the guy who has his back to you and it lights them all on fire. Great solution!

I had all sorts of problems with this. Couldn't get it in this area. Ended up eventually getting it in Revolution in the first big room. Took like 10 tries there, too. Dumb =/

Took me about five attempts but it finally unlocked. I highly recommend you put the difficulty down to Easy when trying this, and be patient.

I had trouble with this until I ran up to the middle of them and threw it at my feet. Worked first time

Touchy indeed. Thumps up, this worked after about ten tries. I think the description should read "set 2 enemies on fire at once from one grenade".

I got this to work by following the above steps but instead I rushed the 2 guys in the tunnel and shot them in the leg to wound them, then while they hunched over in pain I threw the incendiary grenade at the ground between their feet. They both catch fire and the chevo popped straight away.

I have tried everyone's suggestions here, but the achievement refuses to pop. I have stood there four or five times and watched both of those guys burn to death from the flames of the same grenade, and still no go. Either the achievement has become glitched or maybe the guys have to catch fire at exactly the same time? Really pissing me off.

Finally got this one! Used Mark B's (next guide) suggestion to try it in Revolution. Worked on the third try.

what worked for me was the "get between them & drop it at your feet" method. it has to be two hits with one grenade at the same time, two 'nades doesn't count.

The guy on the right (the more heavily armored looking one) kept either moving right after I through the grenade at my feet, so I ended up shooting him in the leg, then threw the grenade at my feet between the two. It also took way too long between that last shot I fired to injure the guy and actually throw the grenade, too.

I killed both guys with 1 Molotov at least 3 times, but nothing worked until I threw it at my own feet, stupid achievement

It seemed the one on the right takes longer to catch on fire. I threw one directly at him, then the one on the left and that worked

I did the same, but I ducked and went between the 2 of them and threw it at the floor ... killing all of us, but it popped so who cares

If you're not making too much use of incendiary grenades, one place I found that's easy to do this is in the level "Revolution". In the second area there are several groups of guards standing close together, and with some stealthy movement you can easily toss a grenade between two of them to pop the Achievement instantly.

Put all 3 to on fire several times, but never any achievement for this. Appears to be very glitchy.

It seems as though when you initially throw the incendiary bomb/grenade your enemies always step backwards BEFORE any effect from the grenade takes place. Throwing it between 2 enemies facing each other usually means you'll either miss one (sometimes both) or stagger the effect so they catch fire far enough apart (in time) for the achievement not to work (happened to me more than once in the campaign). It's best to target 2 enemies beside each other facing in exactly the same direction, then throw it slightly behind them, so when they stagger back it should be into, rather than away from, the area of effect. Worked for me anyway.

I confirm that one of the enemies always step back or get on fire 1 second too late. You need to keep trying, soon or later you will throw the granade in the right place, it must be exactly between the 2 enemies that face each other. The 2 guard that keep arguing. Good luck!

Just to clarify.
You begin the stage in the small room with the fire bomb.
Exit, take care of the guards (although there are 3 of them, they never line up for the achievement, trust me!!!).
Then, when you reach the next area - Depot; kill the lights (box on the right), circle left, wait. Three guards will start arguing. Just as the third guard stops to talk they will form a nice little circle. Fire in the hole!

I managed to pop this in the "storage area" of Venice since there are at least 2 sets of 2 or 3 guards close to each other, plus the checkpoint is right by the door just in case you want reset to do a no-kill run....

In the mission "Revolution" when you get into the room where the soldiers are performing a maintenance check on the systems you can sneak around to the right hand side of the room and climb up a ladder.

This ladder leads to a catwalk and if you look over the right side you can see two soldiers standing right next to each other. If you toss an incendiary at their feet, between them, you should nab this pesky achievement. I got it in two tries after failing to pop this all over the place in my first play through.

Hope this helps. It's just another alternative.

The best option for this achievement is to use incendiary grenades. These grenades have a greenish tint to them, and will engulf everything in flames when thrown. Wait for a small group gather, and throw it so it will hit both targets. You'll have more than enough attempts to gain this achievement, but attaining the incendiary grenades will be the hardest part. Be sure to collect one (or more, just in case) while visiting a merchant.

Load the "Revolution" level, at the very beginning there is a box with incendiary grenades in the room, going out into the corridor we see 3 guards guarding the metal detector frame, we wait for them to approach each other and throw a grenade.

I struggled with this achievement for about 40 minutes. The fact is that when I threw a grenade at the feet of 2-3 people, they were not burned immediately, but seemed to jump away from the “epicenter”. Although the difficulty was easy. But then I decided to get close to those three (who were talking about Ivan and the rats, on the Revolution level) and shoot in the air. Then they noticed me and came at me in a heap, hitting me with their butts. It was at that moment, when their legs crossed, that I decided to quit and it finally worked!

Easy to complete on the Revolution level, right after you climb through the ventilation blades.
There will be two people standing near the table - throw a grenade on the table closer to the one who came up.
The one near the wall will not be able to bounce off and will catch fire.
