How to unlock the Scram achievement in Metro Last Light - Definitive Guide

I found a nice little present from the developers for this one, especially if you're loading this one up to do again, and find yourself without a good weapon.

Just past the gate that you have to power up to pass, the rail switch is set to steer you down the left path. However, if you get out and flip the switch to go right (through the wooden barricade), you'll find an abandoned car (and a karma point). On the right side of the car is a Kalash with a high-powered scope. There are some more military-grade rounds on both the right and left. Better, if you need to reload, you'll start back here.

The Kalash has a faster reload than a shotgun and the bastard, and you don't have to pump it. I got this the first time I tried with the gun.

Get back on Regina and go down the left track. There are roughly 4 waves of Watchmen, between 3-5 each.

If you like, you can stop after the second wave when you see the bodies on the right (as you face toward the rear) and go into the door for a karma point and some creepiness. The Watchmen will not attack the vehicle, and the game gives you a new save point here as well.

In all, I spent 113 rounds on this, mostly because I'm a poor shot. On the other hand (and please note that I didn't stop halfway through at the save point when I did my run), if you pop the achievement you can go back to where you found the Kalash and use regular rounds without having to worry about the Watchmen catching you.

When you get all the way to the end and Regina stops, your achievement will pop. If it doesn't, you can reload your checkpoint and try again.

Hey WerferAkrobat7, check to see if your tv has a "gaming mode", it could be that your FPS is actually caused by the tv's Input Delay (or Input Lag)........check for an opinion that "disables the post image processing", its fine for tv or movie watching, but not for games......hope this helps.....

Game mode is huge. The lag on some TVs can be horrendous. Some games I even need to go back to an old CRT I have because game mode isn't even good enough for precision timing. (Fight Night Champion, I'm looking at you.)

The checkpoint save in between the watchmen waves definitely makes this achievement much more easy.

I am not sure if anybody is going to need this still but i just want to confirm that it is not a problem if they reach the car. but try to kill them before they hit you. i personally had problems in this section i didn't even reach 30 fps so it was hard for me to kill them fast enough...

Once you set out on the level "Regina" you will need to take a modified rail car with bright lamps and lights attached to it. After you pass the locked door the tunnel ahead, you will then need to push another full rail car down the track. While you're pushing this car you will need to watch behind you for groups of Watchmen trying to attack you while moving the car. To unlock this you need to keep a close eye on where the Watchmen appear from, and kill them quickly. If they happen to get up onto your railcar, you will need to reload your previous checkpoint and start over.

For the following video I used military grade ammo as it takes the Watchmen out quickly and effectively without giving them time to slip by and attack you. I've tried this with the revolver and shotgun, but the bastard gun seems to be the best alternative with this ammo type. If you're collecting military grade bullets then you will want to reload your previous checkpoint after earning this to reset your bullets. You can attempt this with standard ammo, just remember it will take 4-6 shots per Watchmen instead of the 2/3 shots the military grade produce.

Great video but I reallyyyyy struggled with this achievement for some reason. It's piratically impossible to do without the military bullets and I only had one magazine of them, so I had to spend them wisely. Devised a plan after 20+ tries and it worked... Thank god I don't have to do this again!

Same as TwistedSynns. It seems to be ok if they reach your car, as long as they don't circle around.

I used my AK-47 from the previous level the one with the night-vision scope and used Military bullets as well and as soon as I heard the howls I would scope in and pop them with 1 or 2 shots.

For some reason , as i was doing this level, First i didn't even know this was an achievement and then i allowed a few to jump on the back of my car but i killed them before they circled around to the front and still got the achievement. Not sure if I did something wrong or it just glitched but i got it by killing them while they were on the back of the cart.

This is done on the chapter 'Regina'.

Play through the chapter a little ways, and you will stumble upon an old bashed up rail car. You must push this along with you for a little bit.

Now, while pushing you will get a warning the watchmen are coming simply by listening for their horrible moans, turn around to you rear, (every one of them will come from behind you).

What you must do is not let them 'reach' the railcar, which is don't let them jump on top, (once they are standing on the car swiping at you, you've lost the cheevo, just simply re-load last checkpoint),

Not to hard of an achievement, revolver will get them most of the time in one shot.

Achievement will pop when you push the bashed up rail car into the walled up shaft and the end of it's journey with you.

This one is actually not as difficult as the description makes it seem; especially if you are playing on Ranger Mode or Ranger Mode Hardcore as your weapons do more damage. I found it easy to do on RMH with a shotgun and the Tihar with the night-vision scope for long range.

Keep an eye on the right side of the tunnel after boarding "Regina"; the prized rail-car the blacksmith provides you with, and look for the Watchmen that quickly ducks into a side tunnel. Stop your railcar, get out and go into this room. You will be attacked by a small pack of Watchmen so keep your gun ready. Loot the air filters for your gas mask, ammo, and the shotgun if you do not already have one and return to the rail-car (There will be another one of these tunnels on the left side with more ammo and air filters).

Now climb back on board the car and drive forward into the rusty old car. The moment you make contact with the car, turn Artyom around and make sure your pneumatic rifle is pressurized and your shotgun is loaded. Continue to push the car onward and keep looking down the rifle's sights. The watchmen tend to jump into the tunnel in groups of threes and occasionally fours so be ready for quick shots. Over-pressurized to over half-pressure are usually instant kills, but aim for their heads to be safe.

If you keep the rifle loaded and you are accurate, you should have the watchmen dead long before they even manage to get within 15 meters of the car. When you notice the car is passing dead bodies and you see an opening on the left (right if you are still facing backwards) you have hit the half-way point. There is another air filter and ammo inside as well as another Watchmen ambush. This is where the shotgun comes in handy. You will also gain the little morality flash from the Dark Ones for traversing this way as well.

Once you are done here, make sure your rifle is pumped and loaded and get back on the car. The Watchmen come just a tiny bit faster then before, but they can be dispatched just as easily and quickly.

Before you know it, you will hit the spot where the line splits and if you kept the Watchmen away you will be sitting on a shiny new achievement.

just ran through the achievement. They reached my rail car and before they could swipe i killed them so you do have a split second to knife them once they hit the rail car.

During the Regina mission, once you start pushing the train car forward using your railcar, you will be attacked by several waves of Watchmen. I suggest switching to Military Grade ammo to take them out quicker. If they jump onto your railcar you're still ok so long as you kill them before they damage you. The attacks are scripted at certain locations on the track, so feel free to get out of your railcar to explore for collectibles/Moral Points in between attacks. Once you push the train car forward through a switch in the track, the achievement unlocks.

Check out the video below for a full playthrough of the game showing all collectibles, miscellaneous achievements like this one, and the Moral Points I obtained (I skipped a lot of them) in order to get the Redemption achievement. The Regina mission starts at timestamp 44:16.

In the chapter Regina, you will reach a point where you are driving your rail car along the tracks. There will be a stationary train sitting on the tracks. You will need to push the train with your car. At this point, you will need to make sure that no Watchers jump onto your railcar. If this happens, you can reload checkpoint and try again. You can switch to military rounds to deal extra damage if you wish, and reload the checkpoint to get them back. As you push the car along the track, turn around and watch for anything that moves. Be sure to reload after every 2 or 3 enemies.

You don't need to worry about anything overhead jumping down onto you, or anything in front of you jumping out. Everything will be coming from one direction.

The trophy description is slightly misleading. As long as the Watchmen don't hurt you - you're fine. They can reach the Railcar and cling on but they must not hurt you.

Best done on chapter select after you've played the game as you can then use your military grade ammo to make it slightly easier.

Place a collimator on the Kalash, money cartridges and shoot the guards from afar. If they jumped on the trolley, reload the Checkpoint.

A Kalash with an optical sight can be picked up in the tunnel. When you restore power to the switch and open the gate, you need to get into the right tunnel (which is blocked). You need to change direction and break through the barrier. Then get off and go to the right, there will be a Kalash with an optical sight.

A much more economical way is to use a Tihar air rifle. With an inflated tank, he kills a guard with just one shot.

The description is translated incorrectly, the guards can jump on the trolley, the main thing is that they do not cause damage to you.

I used a Kalash with money cartridges. Golden cartridges kill the creature with one shot

The achievement is obtained in the "Regina" chapter. There is nothing particularly complicated.

After the tunnel with the spiders, you will enter a poisoned zone and will have to put on a gas mask. There, the guards will begin to attack you, but not immediately, but only after you run into a certain vehicle (an electric trolley for trackers) on the tracks in front of you and begin to push it forward. They will attack from behind, just turn around and shoot them, following the advice of Father Gregory to “aim for the head.”

If one of the guards managed to jump onto the trolley, immediately do a restart. You will receive the trophy at the fork in the tracks after the trolley hits a dead end.

I recommend, along the way, to get out of the trolley and look into each side tunnel. There are no serious dangers there, but there are useful items and, at the same time, in each such tunnel the game makes an autosave and, if some creature managed to jump onto the Regina, you do not have to replay everything from the beginning.

The guards jumped on the Regina, the main thing was to kill them before they started striking. and a Kalash with a sight is generally not that important. You can take them down with anything.
