The guide is clear and works, but my guess is that some animal groups may not be coded properly. For example, I tried Etosha Pan rhinos for a while with no luck, but Blue Nile giraffes worked first time.

The seagulls option does not appear in the smartcam targets for me

If working, you can get this achievement by going to World Map / Free Flight, and typing "Fauna" into the search bar to see a list of viewable animals. Choose an animal and a slow plane, during the day time, and set out on your journey.
Once you are in the air, use cockpit view, locate the waypoint, enable the smartcam through the s key on your keyboard, and fly by the animals at a slow speed, with close distance while maintaining smartcam focus for the achievement.
Change smartcam to "toggle" for this to be easier.
This was fixed as of the September 16, 2020 patch.

I finally got this one to pop by using the smart cam toggle while in the cockpit view. It wasn't working for me from the external cam. Hope this works for others

Can confirm this won't unlock for me either, found a herd of elephants and did a few passes over them at nearly stall speeds to make sure I was focusing for over 3 seconds. Even landed right beside the herd and still nothing.
