Microsoft Solitaire Collection (WP)Classic Speed RunThe Classic Speed Run achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection (WP) worth 24 pointsYour fastest win times in Klondike, Spider, and FreeCell add up to 10 minutes or less.

After an update, you can no longer set seeds in Freecell, this is practice, repetition, changed settings and a bit of luck. Klondike should be set to Draw 1, and Spider Solitaire as Single Suit. Without a Windows Phone where you can still do the Freecell trick, this is likely where the most time will be.

For reference, my final times were 2:16 for Klondike, 3:00 for Spider, and 0:08 for Freecell. Outside of WP, my best time was 2:43, still quick enough for the achievement.

Thank you. I HATE Freecell, so this saved me a ton of frustration.

if you minimize the game it will pause the timer. After, hover over the icon at the bottom and you should be able to plan your next move without the timer going up.

Never mind i used the trick about minimizing the game like ShotyMcFat suggested and worked. My new time now is 6:30 which it was enough for the achievement to pop. smile

Does this work if you get your fastest times in daily challenges?

No, I'm fairly certain daily challenges count as their own entity, especially when a challenge isn't likely to complete the game. This has to be done separately.

I couldn't get any better then 7m20sec on that awful spider and kept failing to get better on klondike until I learned that the right mouse button is much quicker then double clicking left button to get cards up in the four stacks. Saved me 10-15 seconds alone doing that during a game. Boom! Oh and I got my freecell to 10 seconds.

Sean Reinhardl - the guide expains how to do it in 10 minutes, not 5 muntes. If it take you 1 minute for Freecell then you will have 4m30s for Klondike AND 4m30s for Spider.

Okay... So my best time on Spider is 5:47, my best on Klondlike is 3:03, but my time for Freecell is not saving when I use the method you've put in the guide. So my best time is counting as 9:53 and I can't get this because of it. Any idea what I can do?

Changing the freecell deal to #10913 means the game doesn't count towards statistics. Think it must have been patched. Now to do this legit. Yay.

You can still use this method, with an extra step, assuming that you have a Windows Phone. If you do all but the last step and then close the game, you can load it up on your WP using the cloud save and finish it. Then, the stats will count on the Win 8 version.

Solution needs to be updated to tell people that the freecell thing does not longer work.

Ok so it popped for me about 3 hours later after playing a couple of games of tripeaks. What a crap game this is.

It bases it on the fastest time for each of the three games. These times are saved in your stats.

Popped my chieve today... I can confirm that if you open Solitaire on WinPhone, start Freecell, change game to #10913, close Solitaire on WinPhone, open Solitaire on Win8, start Freecell... it should open up game #10913 to play.

That was about 50 attempts in, so I had the game pretty well memorized at that point. Additionally, when the computer takes over to move the cards, the timer stops. I kept trying to move cards while the computer was to prolong it. As the other times prove, it's entirely unnecessary to actually pull off.

Just reinstalled windows 8 (kill me now) to finish off this game thanks to the title update. My times for the 3 games add up 7:58 using random games (not doing the game # method) and no matter what i do this achievement won't unlock. I have multiple times for each gametype that put me well under the required 10 minutes and nothing. I wonder, does the undo function void the achievement since the patch?

Luck and skill based. Try to improve your finish time! Use FreeCell solution databases for fastest speed of winning FreeCell, in case you need.

You can track your win times in the "Statistics" screen. To unlock this achievement, the combined fastest win times for those three game types have to add up to less than ten minutes. You may unlock this without trying, but once you focus on trying to win as quickly as possible, you'll soon be able to finish games in under three minutes with a favorable draw. There's an element of luck here, but it's easily done.

This is one of the tougher achievements in the game, and will definitely take a little practice along with some luck. As with all achievements, you can play on easy to make the games as simple as possible. You should definitely be playing 1-suit games of Spider so you can put it on easy. Also, it should go without saying, but always choose to play a solvable game so you don't waste time on a potentially unsolvable one.

The best advice I can give is to not spend much if any time thinking about your next move. Especially in Spider where you will constantly have options of which card to put on which stack. Just move through, constantly making any available move. On Easy difficulty, it's very unlikely that you'll get stuck anyway.

Klondike is the easiest since your options are pretty limited anyway and you're just following the cards you're given. Move an available move as soon as you see it and don't think about which to make. Again, play on easy so you only have one card from the draw pile at a time. You can spend time putting up cards to the foundation manually, but I highly recommend focusing on getting all of the cards flipped and from the stock pile to stacks on the bottom. Once you do this (no more unflipped cards and no cards left in the stock pile) you will get a "Solve" button right next to the stock pile. When you press this button, cards will shoot up to the fountain much faster than if you were doing it yourself, so your goal should be to get to this situation as fast as possible, and not try to put cards to the foundation unless it's required to progress. For a time to shoot for, my fastest Klondike time is somewhere just under 2 minutes.

Spider is the slowest of the three game modes, since you have multiple decks of cards to clear instead of just one. As noted above, the most important thing for Spider is to not overthink your moves. Make any move available with the goal of completing stacks as fast as possible, and don't spend time looking for any available moves left. As soon as there is nothing immediately obvious left to do, immediately draw a round of the extra cards and keep going. This will be the hardest game type to get a low time on. It took me a bunch of tries, and my best time is now just over 4 minutes, to give you some sort of target to shoot for.

FreeCell can really be a toss-up as to how long it will take to finish. Just like Klondike though, your goal should be to get all cards ordered in stacks on the bottom, because then they will automatically shoot up to the foundation. Also be sure to take cards out of the cells too, because they shoot up faster if all cards are in the bottom area instead of having some in cells. As far as working through a game quickly, don't hesitate to use the cells as much as possible. Your goal is to make ordered stacks on the bottom. Cards going to the foundation will happen naturally as you go. Move quickly and don't overthink moves. To give you a time to shoot for, my best is just over 2 minutes.

Once your combined best times add up to less than 10 minutes, the achievement will unlock. To check your best times, from the Home screen or main menu, go to Statistics and you can see your best win time for each game mode.
