How to unlock the Good To Be King achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection - Definitive Guide
*Apparently glitchy*
Didn't pop for me in star club or daily challenge mode when it should have, got it in standard mode first try. My friend popped it without ever playing in the standard mode, got it doing challenges. Some say in the comments that it didn't pop for them either way. Need more feedback to be sure, but apparently resetting stats will allow you to get it if you're having trouble. Just make sure you get other stat related achievements before doing so.
Here's a guide with some helpful hints towards getting this achievement.
You will need to do this once on each game mode, and the king needs to be the last one laid out on the board. It cannot be in the deck at the bottom of the screen.
*In the pyramid game mode you can constantly choose a new game until you see a king at the top of the board. --->It has been commented that all the cards, even the ones on the bottom pile, need to be gone before the king is removed. <---
*In standard game mode tri-peaks you can use the joker (which can be obtained by watching an advertisement) with the king to make this easier.

When playing Pyramid games, there would be a card peak which is visible at the start of the game. If it isn't a King, click or tap Menu and select "New deal" until you get a King card on the card peak. From there it's smooth sailing. Sometimes the game will ask you if you want to play the game with a Joker card which can be useful trying to solve a board.
However for TriPeaks games, you cannot see the three peak cards at the beginning of the game, which makes this achievement RNG-based. Just get lucky and use the Joker cards (especially when you don't have any cards from the pile to remove the King card).

Again, daily challenges do not count for this achievement.
For Pyramid, you can see your deal and you'll immediately know if the top card is a King, so you can just redeal until you get a favorable setup. Once you have a deal, win the game, taking the King off last.
For TriPeaks, it's all luck. Keep playing until a King is the last card to come off the board.
As the achievement description says, you need to complete a board in both TriPeaks and in Pyramid in which a King is the last card you remove from the board.
Unfortunately you're stuck waiting for the game to automatically generate a board in which a King is at the peak so you can remove it last. At least with Pyramid games, you can see all the cards, so you can keep starting a new game until you get a board with a King at the top. With TriPeaks you'll have to just hope one of the peaks ends up being a King when you flip it over.
Thankfully you'll almost definitely run into this situation in both game types well before clearing 100 boards in each for the respective achievements. I actually unlocked this achievement before even finishing 10 boards of each, so it should come naturally and you shouldn't have to focus on it. For Pyramid especially, if a King is at the peak, you'll be set. For TriPeaks, if you flip a peak card and it's a King, just make a conscious effort to save it for last.
One other thing to make sure that when there is a King at the peak, that you can successfully complete the board, is to make sure you opt to get a wild card at the start of the game. If you upgrade to Premium, you will get this option before every game. If you don't, it'll be every few games. Keep the wild card for a board where a King is at the peak, that way if the cards don't align such that the King can be eliminated last, you can use the wild card to try to force the King to be last. Remember, if it doesn't work out, undo to before you used the wild card and save it for the next board.
