How to unlock the Jack Of All Trades achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection - Definitive Guide

You need to complete a game of each game type. Fortunately, this is as easy as starting a game, right clicking, and then selecting "new deal" from the bottom. Then switch game types and repeat. As soon as you confirm the last "new deal," the achievement will pop.

Edit: You have to make one move (to start the game) in order to make it work. (Thanks, MichapX! I don't remember having to do this, but it might help and won't take any extra time.)

You can now download a 90 day evaluation edition of enterprise for developers that has Xbox Live functionality active. This version requires no key, but is not upgradable after the 90 days.

Your IT department had access to the full release version from Microsoft for over a week now. You might have trouble finding the games as they are not available under the "Games" app as you might expect, but are downloaded from the "Store" app and then appear on your Start Screen.

This is what Xbox said to me:

Ambassador:
Hey buddy!

Me:
Hey i am having trouble unlocking the Jack of All Trades achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection (Win 8). i have played one of each and won and still nothing any idea why?

Ambassador:
By definition to unlock the Jack of All Trades achievement, you need to beat each twice.

Me:
I have done it more than twice

Ambassador:
Each one?

Me:
Yes

Ambassador:
You've played Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, TriPeaks, and the Pyrimid?

Ambassador:
Pyramid*

Me:
Yes everyone and won on them more than twice, I have seen on a few forum's im not the only one either

Ambassador:
Yup, as I was just going to mention, in my system it's showing up as a reclusive problem. Suggestions that worked for others include but is limited to; Restarting PC, Clearing cache, reinstalling the collection and doing the levels over again.

Me:
Ok i will give them a go then, thanks for the sugestions

You have to play and complete a game in every game mode. It is really quite simple. As mentioned above you can keep hitting "new deal" until you hit the last "new deal." This is really easy, also you do not have to win to unlock this achievement. You also have to make at least one move! If you do not move the achievement will not pop!

You don't have to make at least one move. No move is required. But thanks for the very helpful tip :)

Yeah, I have played about 25 Free Cell games and it still shows only 1 in my stats. I know I have played at least 20 of all the other ones too. But no achievement.

I know it's a bit after the last posts, but I had to complete a full game of Pyramid before it would count as "completed" and pop the cheevie - it stored that I had played the other games, but Pyramid was the stand-out

What did you have to do to make this achievement pop? I've played and won each game type and still nothing. I'm not sure what's up.

Same here, it doesn't even count when you look at the stats. For instance, I played 3 spider matches all the way through and after that my records still say 0 games of spider played.

Play (not need to win) a game of each type. This will come naturally as you are trying to unlock other achievements.

In the first version (Dec. 27, 2013), the counter shares with Windows 8 version of this game. Play one more game if you already played all of them on Windows 8.

This achievement should take about 1 minute. From the main menu, click a gametype, flip a card, and back out to the main menu. It will count as a loss, and ask you if you are sure you want to quit. Cycle through the 5 gametypes and keep quitting and you'll unlock the achievement.

The 5 gametypes are:

  • Klondike
  • FreeCell
  • Spider
  • TriPeaks
  • Pyramid

This achievement unlocks upon playing one game in each of the five game types, regardless of difficulty or whether you win or not. This achievement will unlock naturally while going for 100 wins/boards in each of the five games.

Launch the games one by one and play until the results table, without a table the game will not be included in the statistics. To achieve this achievement, you need to have at least 1 game played in your statistics in all 5 modes, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, the main thing is to play and enter it into the table.
