How to unlock the Go for the Bronze achievement in Microsoft Solitaire - Definitive Guide

**** This is for the iOS and Android versions of the game ****

****EDIT ****
There has recently been an update allowing you to revisit previous months so buying one month of premium will allow you to get all badges. Thanks to Dr Tinus for the info. I will leave this solution up in full in case its ever reverted.

You will need either your free month of premium or to purchase at least 1 month of premium for this to work correctly, I understand there are guides out there that will be fairly similar i.e changing date however this is to ensure that you can use your premium at the same time as changing your dat

Steps
1. Open Solitaire on your device
(Doing this will ensure the game syncs the data and signs you in correctly as it seems to be
a bit hit and miss when the date is set incorrectly)
2. When signed in and you are on the home screen press the home key on your device and go
into settings > Date/Time and set the date to the last day of the month you wish to work on
e.g November 30th (This will allow you to work on the entire month of November without
having to keep changing your date)
3. Go back into Solitaire and you will see that your premium has disappeared. This is because
the subscription is based off the start date and you are currently before this date. You will
also see the Daily Challenges with today's date on it. Don't worry about the date shown,
tap Daily Challenges. Using the example above you will load into the
Daily Challenges for November 30th, you can tap the calendar tab and have access to the
entire month too.
4. Once in Daily Challenges press the home key and change your date back to the correct one.
5. Go back into Solitaire and you will see the little premium badge reappear at the top right
but the calendar will remain in November.

Now this is how you set it up and you can begin to pop challenges left, right and centre earning you double coins for each one completed. This is by far the fastest method I have found and saves you from having to purchase premium for a full year providing you can get it done within a month, if not just buy another month.

As I said I know there are similar guides but I couldn't find one for this specific method so here it is. Let me know in the comments if there are any additions that need to be made!

Can confirm that this method no longer works. You get to the point where you sync to old date, but when you go back into the app it syncs to correct date and you're never able to work through previous months.

Thanks for guide though.

As far as I know this guide still works. This guide is to get around the syncing issue. If you follow the steps precisely it will let you do previous months and get double points

There has been an update to the game so that you can access older months without having to change the date. So buying one month of premium allows you to get double coins for every month very easily.

I don’t think the solution works. My gf has completed 3 bronze badges so far, going back to a couple of the previous months and getting the bronze and when she goes to see her daily badges, it shows she has 3 bronze and 2 silver but when she checked the actual achievements, it says she only has 1 bronze and that bronze is for the current month of December so the previous months don’t count apparently.

The solution does work but it’s glitchy. I’ve been getting some medals in the previous months. My counter in game as in the yearly medals page doesn’t match my Xbox live app. I get some medals sometimes. I just got a silver in February of last year and it counted. Also I make sure all my apps are closed on my phone. I’m on iOS. And right before the medal I restart the app.

Does it need to be 12 Bronze badges within a single year? I just started this game in April so I missed the first few months. I'm worried I'll put in a lot of time to get 8 Golds and then it will reset in the new year.

Just won my 12th bronze but the tracker is stuck at 10/12 on the awards page. Anyone else encounter this and know a fix? Had no problems with sudoku or wordament.

My Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription gave me Premium User access. I don't know if the regular Game Pass does as well. I wish the Premium subscription to Ultimate Word Games also allowed access to past months but those medals have to won over the long haul.

This no longer works. You can get premium to appear for previous months using this method, however as soon as you finish a game it automatically brings you to the current date and does not count the game played in the previous month as a premium game.

This god damned game seems to just decide to not give you achievements. I have 12 bronzes but had a connection issue when I got my 12th. So I guess I wait another month,

Well yes, you could and that could be said for every single achievement. This feature on the site allows users to provide the best, most efficient way of obtaining these achievements. It is up to you how you want to play a game. If you want to play through and obtain things naturally as they come, good on you but this is an alternative way. And I think voting negatively on a solution because of an opinion is slightly harsh. Are you going to do that for every solution posted on this site?

No, 12 total across all months and years available.

You can currently get 1 month of solitaire premium for 1,050 rewards points, for those using the premium sub. as a method to play old months. This is for the U.S.; I don’t know if the offer is available in other regions.

I tried using KillaQueen's guide for the computer and changing the date didn't work at all. I was still at the current date and the previous months were locked behind premium.

Is there anyway to do this for the computer or Android phone without premium?

*** This solution is intended for the PC version of the game. ***

This achievement can be attained while working towards the "Go for the Gold" and "Go for the Silver" achievements. If you want to get this achievement while doing the other achievements please check out my guide for those achievements.

With Microsoft Solitaire Collection closed, change your computer's date to one year prior (So the same month you're currently in but last year. I usually chose the 25th of the month to have enough days available). Next start up Microsoft Solitaire Collection. ** If you want to get the achievements quicker I recommend buying the Premium Edition. ** Now start doing the Daily Challenges starting from the first date of the month. Try to do all five challenges for each day. If you are stuck on a challenge, skip it to save yourself the time. Assuming you've purchased the Premium Edition, it will take you about 2-3 days of challenges to get the Bronze Badge. Now close Microsoft Solitaire Collection and change the date to the following month. Reopen Microsoft Solitaire Collection and repeat the process for 11 more months.

If for some reason the achievement doesn't pop, close Microsoft Solitaire Collection and change the date back to today's date. Reopen Microsoft Solitaire Collections and the achievement should pop right away.

** Some people have reported glitches on getting the achievement to pop. I have never had this issue on any Microsoft Collection I played, so I cannot confirm whether it is "glitchy." **

** I don't know if this method would work on a mobile device. I cannot confirm whether it does or not. **

** 2019 Update - A user has stated that they cannot use Premiums services on the prior months. I no longer have Premium, so I cannot confirm this. Either way the solution works but it will take longer. **

I don't get it, I've done way more than 8. So far this month I've done every daily challenge so I must have got at least one bronze but it's not showing!!

Not sure if you're using iOS but if you are the solution is not going to work. The achievement can't be glitched because you can see people getting the achievement as recent as yesterday. Might be glitched for ios.

If you want I can try logging on to your acct on my computer to see if it triggers the achievement. But you'd have to change the password to something just so I can log on

I am now pretty sure this has to be done in a calendar year on IOS.

I am on an iPad and have got the Bronze for the last 3 months (Dec, Jan & Feb)
but I am only on 2/12.
Same for the Silver & Gold which I only have 1/10 & 1/8 despite having 2 (Dec & Jan) of each.

Looks like the iOS version is glitchy but this solution is for the pic version only. If you want you can change your account temporarily and I can sign in on the computer to see if it updates the tally.

I also have every daily in January 2017 but the diamond achievement hasn't popped either

This solution is also good for the following achievements:
Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP)Go for the SilverThe Go for the Silver achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP) worth 129 pointsWin 10 silver Daily Challenge badges

Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP)Go for the GoldThe Go for the Gold achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP) worth 220 pointsWin 8 gold Daily Challenge badges

Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP)Diamonds are ForeverThe Diamonds are Forever achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP) worth 96 pointsWin a diamond Daily Challenge badge

All the solutions above have mostly only explained how to get to the previous months, but not how to get the medals the fastest way possible.

1. I just got the monthly subscription to get more points. You should do the same if you want to take the FASTEST way!

2. In the meantime, it is also possible to go to the previous months and years without any problems.
--
--
But what is now the fastest way to level?

I guess...

1. Go to January 2019

2. Now start playing Klondike one day at a time. (Klondike is BY FAR the easiest mode you can play.)

Now you have two different options.

I do it so that I get all the BRONZE medals first. When I'm done with it, I'll go back to January 2019 and keep playing Klondike until I have SILVER and go to next month. I do the same with GOLD but from then on you probably have to switch to the other modes as well.
Of course, you can also just get gold directly every month. Just play Klondike every day for the month and once there's no Klondike left you play another variation where you're good with.
Why Klondike?

If you have any questions, suggestions, or critic, the best way to tell me is the comment-section :)

New solution following KillaQueens515 PC method as of 2019

KillaQueens515 gave a good method however since about a year or two ago your premium cannot follow to previous months. But I have found a workaround to help speed this grind up.

1.) Make sure you are premium. It is 1.99 membership that blocks ads and give extra coins.

2.) Change date to any prior month.

3.) Open Daily Challenges under your non premium month you chose (ex. Im doing June 2019). DO NOT START ANY GAME YET OR BACK OUT TO MAIN MENU!

4.) Switch the date back to the current date and voila!!!!!!! You have premium for the previous months. Downside is that every game(day) you finish, it takes you back to the current month dates but you just use this method every time as long as you are a premium member.

ALSO from what I heard if achievement don't unlock, just get a medal in current time to sync up with servers.

THIS IS FOR PC GAME PASS, SAME STEPS WILL APPLY FOR CONSOLE MINUS THE BONUS HELP AT THE END

Let me help everyone here and make a very simple guide for everyone to follow, with this for sure working in 2024.

Step 1: Download the game on pc game pass
Step 2: Complete daily challenges for as many months as possible BRONZE-12 SILVER-10 GOLD-8
Step 3: It takes roughly 2 days worth of challenges to get the bronze coin, 4-5 for silver and 10-12 for gold
Step 4: Keep completing all 5 challenges while stacking your coins
Step 5: After reaching your goals achievements will pop.

Bonus- For those of you struggling on expert level challenges, i suggest downloading the solvitaire program and running it for the ones you need help with (its essentially like the solver tool on non challenge games)
note: the free version of solvitaire did not work with freecell for me, so I found a solver tool for that separately.

Good luck and happy hunting!
