How to unlock the Burning Vengeance achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Game of the Year Edition - Definitive Guide

I reccomend doing this towards the end of the game so that you have the majority of abilities available to you, for this method you will need:

Fire Arrow (Wraith Ability)
Double Charge (Ranger Ability)

First find a Berserker, they have two weapons as oppose to one so should easily be distinguished.

Next, get your combo in the red so that you can fire a flaming arrow.

Make sure the Berserker is right next to you when you shoot otherwise you won't be fast enough.

As soon as you shoot the Berserker, press cn_Y + cn_B at the same time to execute him. This must be done very quickly otherwise it will not register as a kill, so just spam the execution.

Also works on Berserker Captains. I did not look at the achievement guide but got it by chance.

You should add that you need to have the double execution unlocked.

For some reason, I was never able to get it until I removed all (it might just be certain ones, but I removed all) epic runes and tried it that way.

Thanks to The Cripplers for the tip about removing epic runes. I did it 5 times and no achievement but first try after taking off all epic runes it popped.

Can also confirm that I had to take off all epic runes to get it to unlock.

This method is definitely the easiest. For some reason it didn’t pop at first when I did this in a stronghold. However, I found two Uruk’s in the open and one of them was a berserker when I did this a second time on him it worked.

I did it with epic runes, maybe there is something else that went wrong?

Very touchy achievement. Timing must be precise. I found a Berserker in Nurn, on the small bluff just SE of the Fern Outskirts Forge Tower, 100% of the time. He spawns with other Uruks, which helps with combo building. And theres a fire too, for people who prefer that way. Stealth kill, couple bow shots, then Flame arrow the Berserker while youre right next to him and then Execute that fool.

I had to remove all the epic runes from my sword to get this to pop.

EliteAssassin13's location worked perfect. my method: remote stealth kill first, then kill N-1 with arrows. for the last. grab, throw into fire, active sword power, execute. took me 4 tires, and probably 7 minutes. very reliable respawn.

This is the easiest and quickest way to get this achievement without having to rely on luck: make sure you have the "Storm of Urfael" power, either by gaining the ability or by having the Epic Rune.

First, power up "Storm of Urfael" by executing Uruks with the cn_Y+cn_B execute power - you'll see it's ready when the crescent next to the Sword of Urfael icon is full. Then locate a berserker near a fire: in wraith mode they have two axes on their back. Headshot any other Uruks around the berserker with arrows. Once the non-berserkers are dead, first trigger "Storm of Urfael" (If you try to trigger "Storm of Urfael" after throwing the berserker through a fire, it takes more time and makes it harder) then grab the berserker and throw him through the fire and execute him. Done. With this method, nothing is left to chance.

This is a very short vid I put together that shows how easy it is:

This. I did it this way as well, only I first branded the berserker so I could more easily guide him to the nearest fire, since there were some enemies around and I didn't want to alert the whole outpost. Excellent guide though!

Thanks, worked right away! I had all epic runes which some people said would not work but it didn't matter at all using this method.

I didn't even think of Branding the Berserker first, I got the achievement before I got the Branding skill.

Great solution. Definitely the best method.

It's "Storm of Urfael" not "Sword of Urfael".

Thank you for the video - didn't know which one was a Berserker.

This is a bit tricky unless you follow some simple steps.

First you need to find a Berserker who is near a fire, they're easy to spot in wraith mode as they are the big blue guys with two red swords on their back. Once you've found a Berserker and his buddies near a fire (found spread at random all over the map) kill everyone but the Berserker (making sure you don't touch the Berserker at all) then beat on him until you have enough charge for an execution. Now grab him cn_RB while standing near the fire and release him - this should automatically throw him at the fire. As soon as he catches fire perform the execution cn_Y + cn_B and it should pop.

Doing this any other way seemed to leave too much to chance, either he'd die when I was using him to charge up, or I'd get hit by a flying weapon and loose my charge.

hi, i found a other way to obtain it.

to do this achievement we go on this mode : Play -> Trials of War -> Test of the Ring.

( when i did this achievement yesterday, i have almost finish the main campaign , the last mission than i did it was "The Power of the Wraith" , and concerning the campaign of this mode i continued the main mission until i unlocked the 4 missions for the achievement " battle forged " and i did this 4 missions, i don't know if you can obtain it before )

when you start this mode, you are in a tower ( if you restart 50 new game at this mode, you start in the same tower), open your map with cn_back, you will see a bridge at left of the tower. to the right of the bridge you have a fire we will use this fire for the achievement.

( don't worry the explanation will be a little long but it's not hard )

Step 1 : you need to have your ring at 100% to use it ( the ring is a capacity, when your ring it's at 100% you can use it with cn_LSc + cn_RSc the time will be very slow and you can use the executions until the power of the ring finish)

it's possible than you have already your ring at 100% at the begin.

if you don't have the ring at 100% ,attack the enemies who are around the fire when your sword is blue use cn_X + cn_A ( you can use 2 times this skill when your sword is blue) when your enemies are with you use cn_down to kill them. continue like that with the enemies who are at proximity of you.

When you have your ring at 100% we go at the Step 2.

Step 2 : come back in front of the fire. if the enemies are at proximity of fire kill them. the enemies reappear quickly. now you use cn_left to do appear the uruks who are with you, you have 5 uruks automaticly. look if you have a berserker among the 5 uruks if you don't have a berserker use cn_down to kill them and when you can use cn_left ( you will have automaticly 5 uruks so you don't need to branded other uruks when you killed the precedent group ) when you have a berserker, take your bow and you do a headshot to the other 4 uruks.

now you have only with you your berserker.

press cn_start and read the next step until the end.

Step 3 : Check than 0 enemies are respawn around of you otherwise kill them. now you take your berserker with cn_RB, and put your back in front of the fire , throw the berserker on the fire, when the berserker is on fire immediately press cn_LSc + cn_RSc then execute the berserker with cn_Y + cn_B.

The achievement is unlock smile

For some reason it didn't work for me with the fire arrow. I think it's because the flames subside pretty quickly. Igniting a campfire gave me enough time to get the kill. I imagine Urafel's ability could make it easy as well.

Easy spot to do this, on the botton left of the map, there will be a single Beserker Uruk on a camp fire, stunt him(Circle button), get 8 hits on him(Square Button), grab him(R1 button and aim with the left stick toward the fire) and throw him in the fire and then combat execute(Triangle + Circle button) him.

Gambit1540 pointed this out for the original game - if the cheevo doesn't unlock despite meeting the requirements remove ALL Epic runes from your weapons.

I've also just realised that no one attempted this with the Ring-DLC yet. Since the Ring gives both infinite fire-arrows and executions it might be worth a shot. Especially since the Lv25-rune-bs can also be skipped via this DLC:
