Just to note it makes no difference if they spot you. I sneaked in only to find the grog was right next to the captain. I ran up to it and poisoned it while they were still 'detecting' me. They then all chased me out but I hid, eventually they gave up searching and went back to resume the feast. Captain drank from the grog and achievement popped.

My achievement isn't popping. I wasn't detected and I watched him drink from it and be sick everywhere. I did let a caragour loose though as a distraction, would that have affected it?

It popped to me even when I killed the chief's party gangs, and poisoned grog after knocking him, and standing a little away in shadows

I have tried to do this achievement when I finish the game 100% and I can't do it, maybe it's a bug for the Xbox series X, but the achievement doesn't come out even dying poisoned and dropping the rune.

To unlock the Poison Ability you have to play the Mainstorymission called "The Outcasts". The Mission gets her relatively early in the Game. It can be found in the Northwest of the first Map.
External image

After you unlocked the Poison Ability, you need a Feast. A Feast is one of many random Events. Random Events appears on your Map as red Symbols.
External image

Do not have a Feast as random Event on your Map then scroll over a Forge Tower and use "Advance Time" to forward the Time. Go to a Feast Location and start the Mission, you must not be dected if you poison the Grog Barrel! If you detected, quit the Game and restart the Feast.

HOW TO SET IT UP
Before you can play "Feasts", you have to complete the story mission "The Outcasts" to get the poison ability. One of the easiest feasts to do this is "Gorfel the Thirsty". The feasts show up randomly and you might have to use the ADVANCE TIME (press cn_Y on map tower) a couple of times until it shows up.

IMPORTANT
Don't get spotted. If you do, this feast will disappear. To prevent this, you can quit out of the game and load it up again and the mission will still be there.

After you successfully poisoned the bowl cn_RB, walk away and wait until the Captain drinks from it.

To unlock the Poison ability you first need to unlock and complete the Mission The Outcasts, located in the NW of the Map (Barrows of Udûn), i think its the 3 or 4th Story Mission.

External image

Then search on your Map cn_start from Power Struggles (red Icons) and check ifs a feast. If you don't see any hover over a Tower on your Map and use Advance Time cn_Y and look again for a Feast.

Now search for a Grog and press cn_RB and wait :)

A feast is a random mission, you can forward time until it appears. You cannot do this until you've done the poison related story mission. When you have select the mission, and then use cn_RB to poison the captains alcohol.

Once you progress through the main story missions far enough too gain the poison ability this is very simple and easy. All you need to do is highlight a red mission tab on the map and find one marked "feast." Travel to the mission area and simply poison the grog bowls in the area the orcs are hanging out in (on your mini-map, they'll have exploding icons at their locations in the camp, just in case you can't see them right away). Then just wait. Once the captain drinks, it only takes a few seconds before he dies. Even after they notice that the grog is poisoned, they still kept drinking it in my game.
P.s. I was spotted and killed a few in open combat and then climbed a ruined building until they stopped looking for me. Even after that, once the captain calmed down he started drinking again and died shortly after. Trophy popped immediately after his face hit the ground.

Another way I recommend doing this trophy is making sure you have the Dagger legend reforged so that you can get the Unlimited Stealth Kill ability. It can be early in the game or way later, doesn't matter which, but go to the Feast mission. Then crouch and press down both cn_LS and cn_RS. Kill any nearby Uruk that's near the grog bowls, then inject the Poison into it. From there, quickly hide behind something and wait patiently until the Captain and his men devour the Poison. Eventually, they'll succumb to it and the trophy should be yours. Also, make sure the Uruk is dead far enough to where they can't find his body. If they do, you'll have to start over again.

First you need to finish the story mission "The Outcast" so you can get the poisoning talent. Then you need to get a random feast mission, then just like the in the outcast mission go up to the drums and poison them.

In order to attempt this achievement, you must first complete the mission entitled, “The Outcasts” so that Talion can unlock the “Poison” ability. This mission occurs fairly early on in the game. As for Feasts, these Uruk celebrations are random side missions that will spawn across the map and are marked with a red Power Struggle icon. If some times goes by and you do not see any Feasts on your map, scroll over a Forge Tower and select the option to advance time; this method will surely make new events, such as Feasts, spawn.

Once you find a Feast, head over there and start the mission. You will need to locate the drinking bowls (Grogs) in the area. The Captains of the Feast will be moving from one Grog to another, so you will need to poison one of the drinking bowls without being seen and wait for the Captain to drink from it. If at any point you are detected, you will have to retry during another Feast. If you successfully pull this off, the Captain will drink the poison and go mad, thus unlocking the achievement.

A “Feast” is one of the seven types of Captain Power Struggles in the game. You can tell which type of event it is by highlighting it and reading the description, as well as the title at the top. In order to poison a captain during a Feast you must first complete the main story mission “Outcasts” and reach Power Tier 2, which will unlock the Poison ability.

To use poison you must walk up to a grog barrel and press , but make sure you aren’t seen poisoning it because they won’t drink from it if you are caught in the act. Use the Wraith Bow Distract (+) to move enemies away from the barrels, as well as outright killing stragglers. You can find the barrel by using Wraith Form () and locating the small green barrels with an explosive icon on it. At each Feast there are typically two or three barrels and the Captain will head over and drink whichever one you poison.

The moment the Captain takes a sip from the grog the trophy will unlock. If you are having trouble finding a Feast event just keep advancing time at a Forge Tower until the event appears.

There are different Power Struggles (marked in red on the map), feast is one of them. What I successfully did, was enter combat, kill most of the orcs and in the meanwhile poison the grog, in particular the one that was closest to the starting location of the celebrated Captain. When I fled, the Captain went back to that location, and started drinking grog like nothing happened and the achievement popped.

It is necessary in the additional mission Feast. To poison a keg of grog and that it was cut out by the leader himself, and not his uruks. Try it, I personally succeeded on the second attempt.

They gave the trophy as soon as the captain took a sip. Only a third of his health was removed.

I’ll add the following fact: poisoning the barrel of grog from which the captain leaves is not at all necessary. You can poison some other barrel that doesn’t have a bunch of orcs crowding around it. Poisoned barrels attract orcs like shit attracts flies. To get the trophy, it was enough for me to poison a keg of grog on the outskirts of the feast, where not a single orc could see - and the captain himself came to drink the poison. The main thing is not to get excited, otherwise no one will drink.

we go to the captain's feast, look for a barrel, poison it, if you're lucky, the captain will go to the bar and poison himself with a glass of grog, something like this)

In most cases, at the very beginning of the task, the Uruks and the captain of the script go somewhere to have fun, and the keg of grog remains unguarded, but sometimes this does not go well. We quickly pour out “Mashenka” and hide, the orcs come running as if on command to die, the captain does not die - he just damages a little HP (if he is very weak, he may die), but the holiday will be ruined, the achievement will be counted. The captain then simply deals with hand-to-hand combat and that’s it. It is best to do it in an open area, where the grog and a table with meat are located in a tent. But that depends on your luck with the task.

To do this you need to upgrade the “POISON” skill. We find the task "feast". Poisoning grog with R1
