How to unlock the Burning Vengeance achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Definitive Guide
You will need these skills unlocked :
Execution
Fire Arrow
2x Executions for one mutliplyer
Optional
Ignore a hit breaking your combo
5x ability instead of 8x
Then you just gotta find a small group (i used one in the fishing village), build the multiplier, set the berserker on fire and quickly finish him.
Below if a brief video guide I made =]
When it's just you and the Berserker, build up your Combo. Then when you have your special, grab with R Bumper, throw him into the fire, double tap A AROUND the campfire, and then hit Y + B to execute him. If you did it fast enough, the achievement will unlock.
Some things to keep in mind is that stunning him will put out the flame so make sure you have your special ready. This includes the B stun and stunning while leaping over him. The reason why you dodge roll around the campfire is because if you try to use your special when the campfire is between you and him, Talion will get stuck running towards the fire and he won't get through it, thus extinguishing the flame on the Berserker and maybe even your combo. It is helpful to get the Critical Strike abilities to get your combo up quicker.
Obviously using a rune that ignites your enemies is super helpful and makes it so you won't have to depend on a campfire, but those rune drops are quite random. A guaranteed flame rune is the Flame of Arnor, which you get as a pre-order bonus from Best Buy, or buying the Season Pass. Also, Fire arrows do not work since they finish off the Berserker before you can execute him.
Good luck! I know this was quite frustrating for me to get.
POSSIBLE GLITCH!? : I was finding the achievement to be quite "glitchy", as I had swore I executed the requirement at least 7-10 times perfectly through a combination of fire arrows and tossing the berserker into the fire, then performing the execution. I ran a search and found a discussion of this problem on a steam thread. A user recommended removing epic runes from the dagger and sword. I did so, and the first time I shot a fire arrow at a berserker and then executed him, the achievement popped. I hope this helps someone as I was getting a little frustrated.
*I added the solution because I didn't want the rune glitch to be lost in the pile of comments.
If you mess up just press start and go to "leave mission" and you can go back to the mission and try again.
Dont use the + or + as these will not get you the achievement!
Find a groups of uruks that include a berserker ( one with 2 axes)
build up your hit streak , hit him with a fire arrow then execute.
Note that after I kill him it pops 'Completed' in the top right od the screen. This acknowledges I did it correctly and will unlock tjr achievement.
This spawn normally has 1-2 zerkers but if they do not spawn/you dont get the achievement you can just fast travel to the tower I show at the end of the video for another shot at it.
Remember the Berserker is the Uruk that will counter all of your regular hits. He usually has two axes . The axes will show up red in his hands when viewed in Wrath Mode.
Once you have those two skills, find a group of enemies that has a Berserker. Get your combo up to where your sword is charged and then use fire arrow by holding for your bow and then press to shoot a fire arrow at him, to set him on fire. Then immediately use your finisher ( + ) to kill him before he dies from the fire itself.
Be sure to be standing somewhat close to him to be sure that the finisher connects with the correct enemy.
Easiest way is to simply use the rune that sets them on fire when you counter. Make sure your combo is high enough and hang out around the berzerker. keep countering and he'll burst into blue flames. Execute him and it'll pop. The rune gives you a 16% chance of burning him on counter so within 4 times usually it pops up and you'll get the execution
2. Unlock the skill that gives you two executions (last tier, Double Charge)
3. Start a hit streak and then use a fire arrow on a Berserker and then quickly execute him.
You can identify a berserker by his two weapons (from here: https://gaming.stackexchange.com/a/186152/80141)
I would maybe suggest trying to get this one as soon as you can after you unlock the 2x execution, fire arrow, and Blade Master that reduces the time it takes to charge execution, fire arrow, and brand from 8x to 5x.
So this is my desperation solution: Equip the Burning Pitch Rune and walk into the middle of a stronghold and start kicking ass. After about 20 minutes and 3 epic battles the achievement popped. I did it 3 times before it popped but it eventually did.
I know it's not perfect but, it was way more fun than running around looking for berserkers. You may have the Burning Pitch Rune and not even know it, so take a peek.
Once the berserker bursts into flames, hit them with the execution.
It will not be until the fifth Urfael Legend Mission that the game introduces you to Berserker enemies. You can tell them apart quite easily as Berserkers are the larger-sized Uruks that wield dual axes.
At anytime after the aforementioned mission, you will now need to locate a Berserker around Mordor or inside a Uruk Stronghold. Once you find one, build up your combo meter so that is turns red and lure the Berserker near a campfire. Be ready to push/throw him into the fire so that he catches ablaze. You will have a short window of time to pull off the execution finisher (+) so act quickly!
Berserker with his axes sheathed. They will always appear red which makes them easy to distinguish.
The easiest location in the game to perform this is in Nurn, just southwest of the Fern Outskirts Forge Tower. Fast travel to the tower and walk forward and look down and to the left. You’ll see a camp fire with a bunch of Uruk around it. Zoom in with + and try to see if there is a dual wielding Uruk. If there is head down and kill the enemies around it without stepping into the fire, or pushing another Uruk in it.
The two best methods for performing an execution on a Berserker require either a campfire and the Execution ability, or the skills Fire Arrow, Execution, and Double Charge. The easiest is the latter but you need Tier 5 power to achieve it.
Fire Arrow and Double Charge
Find a Berserker at the above location and go down to the enemies. Walk directly up to the Berserker, and shoot arrows or melee a different target until your hit streak is charged. Once it is charged use + to shoot a single Fire Arrow at the Berserker, then immediately hit + to perform the Execution and unlock the trophy. This is the easiest method but it takes the longest to perform in terms of character progression.
Campfire and Execution
Find a Berserker at the above location as described. Once you are clear of enemies or have enough space/hit streak, grab and hold on on to the Berserker with and toss him towards the campfire. The instant he hits the fire use your execution (+) while aiming towards him. Either use + to freely execute or build up your hit streak prior to grabbing the Berserker. If it doesn’t work you can clear out the rest of the enemies and Fast Travel back to the tower to try again.
A guaranteed spot to find a Berserker early on in the game is during the main story mission “The Warchief”. At the beginning of “The Warchief” you will have to kill two Berserkers in order to draw out the Warchief. Rather than outright killing them, ascend the tower and run past them both. Take a left and then jump off of the bridge to your left. You will see a fire and possibly some enemies surrounding it.
Bereserker's during "The Warchief" mission are even shaded gold to easily find
Kill the enemies near the fire if they are standing by it and be sure not to push any into the fire, or walk over it yourself. The Berserkers will follow you down the ladder and begin to fight you. Once they are relatively close you should use your bow and shoot some enemies until you have a hit streak high enough to use your + execute. The second you do, grab and hold the nearest Berserker with and throw him in to the fire. Do this by walking towards it and then releasing .
If you've already completed the "Warchief" mission you can play “The Dark Monument” instead. After passing the Ghul you will reach some ruins with Uruk in it. To the far left is one Berserker and right near the fire is another. Use the same method as above to unlock the trophy.

The method is simpler than in the video above https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QknL93plewk
This video helped, a good place is next to the tower, if the bers is not near the fire, we move to the tower and go to the fire again, once out of 5 it will definitely sit.
My option for receiving) https://youtu.be/me49AZyzw0U
The main reason for the complexity of the trophy is that when a berserker is encountered, it is far from certain that there will be a fire nearby, or there will still be a fire, but someone will put it out with one awkward movement, or there will be a lot of people around - in such a meat grinder someone will constantly interfere.
Solution:
-in the free world, in any skirmish, when we meet a berserker (such a healthy orc with two weapons (one ax in each hand), we first knock him out (I knocked him out on , as an option, you can jump over (if the corresponding perk has been upgraded))
-then we carry out a series of blows (4-5 (maybe 6) pieces - so that he doesn’t die).
- “without leaving the cash register” we go into concentration mode shoot with a fiery arrow into the body. The orc will catch fire (this is wrong).
-and, since we already have a series of hits on the same orc, we carry out the execution ( + ).
Voila: trophy received
Yes, I forgot to add: from the description, I think it’s clear that at the very beginning of the game this method will not work - the character needs to be upgraded in the skills of execution, fire arrows, knocking out and accelerating the gain of experience with a series of hits (I’m not sure about the name of the last perk). He knocked it out at the end of the game - that’s why almost all his skills were already open).
