How to unlock the The Collector achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Definitive Guide

A lot of people are mentioning they are having problems with spitter ghuls spawning. I tried for a good hour trying to get the spitters to spawn with no luck.

I read in a different forum that if you hard reset your console it will work. They were right! I rebooted my box and now spitter ghuls everywhere! The attached video shows an excellent spot to get this cheeve. I take no credit for the video and only added it for visual aid. I hope this helps!

For me it wasn't an issue of the Spitters not showing up, it was either: hard to get a combo going to trigger the wraith flash without killing the Spitter, or my Caragor would die before I could get the Graug. Just in case, I dominated 7 Caragors when going for the Spitter; I had 1 left by the time I was able to dominate it.

I think they fixed it when the last DLC came out. A buddy of mine said he had no issues with spitters as well.

I did this right after the mission where I learned to dominate the Ghuls, because after the mission it had me stuck with a host of ghuls already. Right to the south was a Graug and a Caragath.

Do this after you kill all 5 beast master warcheifs.

At the bottom middle of the map youll see a town with 2 bridges going over a river. You want to go to the lower right bridge.

Where tge bridge ends at the town, youll see a sack hanging that you can shoot to attract a wretched gruag. Youll want to shoot it and attract a gruag and shadow mount it. Then find a carageth(they are all over the place, use vision to find one) and shadow mount it.

Lastly, to the north of the bridge is a ghul mount which you can shoot to find them. Use x and y with 5x multiplier to dominate them. If you cant find the mount than just run around with vision until you see one.

I suggest getting ghuls last because they die really fast.

The problem is more the confusion caused by misspelling mound as "mount".

There is an edit button.

@Hotzoglou: Maybe you could have told him that (what Sketchy77 said) in the first place, instead of acting all mighty about it. And did you actually give him a neg vote because of ONE wrong letter?

The ghuls have to be spitter ones. if you brand around 10 ghuls, most of them are usually spitters. make sure to brand Graug first, then Caraghor and Ghuls last. order doesn't matter for the achievement, but makes it much easier this way.

I've been doing this for two hours straight, and have had a graug, 4 carageths, and countless ghuls dominated. I find it hard to believe none of them were spitters

There are actually around 10 misspellings, from warcheifs (warchiefs), gruag (graug) and carageth (caragath) to the big one, mount (mound)

Don't particularly care about the spelling, but I'm tempted to hit this with a negative because I don't think the sack to attract the Graug is where it says it is in this guide. But I may just be missing it...

Sorry, but the graug bait is not where you described it to be. I cannot find it anywhere in that area for that matter. Anyone else have an idea on where to find graug bait? Descriptions of "it's near every stronghold" doesn't help.

Great guide but the negatives are due to the poor spelling. Fix it and I dare say this solution would be top.

The achievement is not glitched - if you don't find a spitter ghul, you have not met the requirements for the unlock - anyone know a good way to get the spitter ghuls to appear?? Have been trying for 1 hr+ and still cannot find one to dominate, anywhere.

This solution may very much be YMMV, however the game basically served this up for me on a plate and it was easy to do.

When you're battling the final Warchief, he will disappear and you'll leave the cave to find him outside. After Shadow Striking over to him you begin combat again. During this combat, lots of Ghuls show up and it's very easy to brand a bunch of these by using cn_X+cn_Y when your combo is red. You'll probably struggle to even defeat the Warchief without doing this. Ideally you'll brand a Spitter Ghul or two during this.

Now I don't know if the following was scripted or not, and so you may not experience this, but as the fight continued, both Caragaths and a Graug ran into join the battle. At that point it was simply a case of Shadow Branding both of them, and achievement unlocked. You can Shadow Brand by cn_LT then cn_A on both targets. I'd recommend doing the Caragath first, then the Graug, as you don't have to dismount first. If necessary, then just look for a Spitter Ghul if you still don't have one branded. The Graug should stay alive for a while, and you could ideally ride the Caragath round looking for a Ghul if you still need one.

It happened to me too though he did kill the Caragath before I got the Graug so no achievement, but yeah it does seem to try to serve it up to you here.

Happened to me as well, I don't know why you're being downvoted for this because it's fairly easy to get here, you just have to make sure you Brand all the Ghuls you can, and then as soon as the Caragath/Graug spawn, you have to be super quick with the Shadow Mounting.

If you miss the Graug here, there are two side missions that involve Graugs which you get to keep after completing them. By having that Graug I just had to find the Caragath and Ghul nest to get the achievement. smile

This is how I got it. I tried doing it outside of this mission and couldn't find a graug to complete it. Thanks!

***this can only be got in the Lord of the Hunt DLC

For anyone who didn't get this during the mission. It is easily attainable at the location on the map below. Red is caragath location, blue is ghul mound location, and orange is graug bait location.

Before you can begin working on this achievement, take note that the main story mission entitled "Hypocritical Oath" must be completed first. Only after this mission has been completed will you finally have learned how to dominate all three creatures in Nurn.

With that said, Caragaths can usually be found roaming around the region in packs or with a single Uruk tamer. As for Wretched Graugs, you will need to locate and shoot Graug bait (there's usually always one on the underside of the bridge north of the east-most Forge Tower) to lure one out. To dominate these beasts, simply perform a shadow mount from afar and Talion will control the creature.

Finally, in order to dominate a Ghul (refer above to "O Mother, Where Art Thou?" for more information on branding Ghuls), you will need to locate a Ghul mound in Nurn and bait the mound to lure the pesky creatures out of their hives. Take note that even if a dominated creature is not near you, the game will still recognize that it is under your control. Once all three creatures are simultaneously under your control, this achievement will unlock.

You will not able to achieve this trophy until you have started Hypocritical Oath, which is pretty close to the end of the DLC storyline. This can be achieved anywhere in free roam where you can find all three of these enemies in close proximity. Once you have all three actively dominated at the same time the trophy will pop.

A good location for this is south of the Forge Tower in the Fern Outskirts region. To the southeast of this tower is a small Uruk camp that is on a raised mound with a bridge going to it; you can see the bridge easily on the map. On the underside of this bridge is a Graug bait that you can shoot to easily spawn a Wretched Graug. The area between the Forge Tower and the Camp will have some roaming Caragaths as well as a Ghûl mound that you can use to spawn Ghûls.

Training on control over ghuls will be based on the plot: when 5 leaders need to be killed, control is done with a ghostly flash +
I found the best place to achieve it in the Fern Neighborhood location. We move to the tower in that location, from the tower if you look straight across the bridge you will see a bait for Graug hanging. We shoot at it and jump down in the other direction, there is a bait for ghouls on the ground, right next to the tower. And from this bait, turning 180 degrees, you will see a cage with a caragor in the distance. Well, then everything is simple, we lured the graug and he is already rummaging around, then we attract the ghouls and take control of the spitting one, then we shoot at the cage with the caragor and saddle him, and from the caragor we jump onto the graug. If it doesn’t work out again, quickly move to this tower, everything will respawn again, sometimes the cell does not appear, again we just quickly move.
