How to unlock the The Silver Fist achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Definitive Guide
You're going to be using Wraith Flash to mass dominate ( + when the combo meter is red), so you'll want to do your best to build a high combo, as a higher combo results in a larger radius and likely-hood that an uruk will be branded. Unlike Talion or in The Test of the Ring Celembrior can only use Wraith Flash (or any red combo moves) once, so you'll need to hit uruks a few times to get your combo meter red again so you can use another Wraith Flash. If an uruk is about to attack you you're better off counter/evading, as it's possible to get hit in the moments before Celembrior slams his fist for the move. Remember, your first Wraith Flash at a combo at X5 isn't going to do much, but you're going to be seeing very nice result at X30 and up.
For the mission itself you'll want to hop down and gather some uruks around you. Once you've got a following build up your combo and use Wraith Flash. You'll now need to build up your combo to red again. Fortunately, you'll get some progress to this with the uruks you stunned from the prior burn. Do a few sword slashes (or counters/evades if you're attacked) to get back to red and use another Wraith Flash. If possible you'll want to angle your attacks towards a branded uruk, as attacking a non-branded one may kill him and leave you with one less chance of a possible brand. You'll be repeating this until you run out of uruks that can be branded, so pay attention to the mini map. You'll have more uruks flooding in to fight you from the north and south, so just roll over to them and continue what you're doing.
Edit: CanadaAckis has made mention of using knives to help build your combo back up. Using these can provide a bit more safety as they're fast to use, so keep them in mind. R A W Collings has mentioned that you can use The One Ring to spam Wraith Flash for it's duration. It's best to amass a large group of uruk before doing so, as this will greatly increase the ease of branding 20.
Remember that the mission will be completed once two minutes have elapsed after you've branded enough uruks to have an army of 15. If you're near the time limit just quit out of the mission and start it over from the beginning.
Edit: As mereel1 mentioned, you don't need to have 20 branded uruks at once. You just need to brand 20 in 60 seconds. Thus you don't need to worry if some die, be it by your hand or an enemy's.
Edit: ThePaleHorseman has listed another excellent way to get this achievement in the comments. If you find success with that method make sure to send some thanks in his direction!
ThePaleHorseman, thank you very much for your excellent strategy, as well as catching my mistake of misnaming Wraith Flash as Wraith Burn.
With that said, this trophy can also be achieved via the Test of the Ring trial in any of those forts.
While the story mission Press the Advantage seems like a good place to attempt this trophy, I found the following more effective:
- Run to Durthang Keep (or any fort really) and start killing Uruks to build up your One Ring power.
- Keep branding Uruks until your One Ring power is ready to be activated.
- At this point, run around for a few minutes and keep pressing the button over and over to prevent yourself from getting hit and to keep all of the gathering Uruks alive.
- Once you have a large amount of Uruks surrounding you, activate the One Ring power ( + ) and start spamming Flash Brand ( + ).
- If the trophy still has not popped when the One Ring power runs out, keep your Hit Streak alive and keep spamming Flash Brand as fast as you can.
- Note: It is possible to get this trophy without using the One Ring power but with its ability to slow down time while active it sure does make it easier.Story related and cannot be missed.
This achievement can be obtained in either the main story or in the Test of the Ring Trial. It may initially seem difficult, but after completing all the One Ring side missions and maximizing the Ring’s duration, it becomes incredibly simple. So with that established, go ahead and enter the East Garrison Stronghold in the south region of the map.
Once you are there, make some noise and start fighting the Uruk, deliberately allowing one to raise the alarm. Once reinforcements show up and you are surrounded by enemies, start using Wraith Flash Domination when your Hit Streak allows for it to brand the mob of Uruk. Given one of Celebrimbor’s skills, much like Talion, you can execute two combat abilities in a row once your Hit Streak reached x8. Keep on using Wraith Flash Domination on the mobs and this achievement should unlock without issue, especially since the blast radius – or area of effect – of Wraith Flash Domination is incredibly large once your Hit Streak reaches x40 plus.
If you feel as though you’re having issues with this achievement, this is where having the One Ring fully maxed out helps. Essentially, once enough enemies are around, activate the One Ring and start spamming Wraith Flash Domination since you have unlimited usage until the One Ring’s ability runs out. Either way, once 20 Uruk have been dominated in 60 seconds, this achievement will unlock.
The tactics are simple - gather more people around (better in the western camp, there are a lot of enemies there), activate the ring and spam the ghost flash, for 1 activation of the ring you will have time to complete this trophy
- + (group sealing) with the addition of “ Ring strength ” ( L3+R3 )
- “ power of the Ring ” ( L3+R3 ) plus + (group marking)
...combine to taste
The right tower will have the task of collecting a squad of 15 orcs. After which the berserk captain will come.
In my case, it turned out that my entire army had to be sacrificed to my health. And I was left alone against a squad of berserkers.
Having run back a little (where I was recruiting an army on assignment), I saw a standing crowd of orcs. Got into them, squeezing every time + as soon as the meter turns red. I reached the counter to 40 and with the last cast I summoned the orcs that were missing for the trophy.
By the way, I managed it without the power of the ring. So with a ring it will be even easier.
