How to unlock the Peace in Death achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Definitive Guide
I found a guide on Eurogamer.com that helps a lot.
www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-10-13-shadow-of-war-the-shadow-wars-explained-how-to-get-true-ending-complete-endgame-4823
The Shadow Wars take place after the ending of the game and the Capture of Minas Morgul. It's the set of quests that hide "the true ending" cutscene.
There are ten rounds to the series of attacks on your strongholds. It'a basically defending them until all eight of the Nazgul warchiefs are dead.
Best thing to do in each city is to make a combo of effects, what I found works for me is different to what other guides online, so you may have to experimene a bit.
Metal Walls, Cursed seige equipment, Fire mines, poison spouts and Drake traps are what I used to best effect.
Also, the level of your castle also goes by the level of your Warchiefs and Overlord. You want the highest leveled Orc as your Overlord during the attack. It's wise to assign at least two or three bodyguards to Warcheifs as well. The more damage you can do ti the enemy warchiefs the better.
It's worth noting that you cannot lose any of your Orcs to if you die yourself. They just get ousted from the keep and and you lose control of the citadel. They will die if you repell the attack, however, and in some instances they can even stay dead when you die.
If you loose control of a city (like I did during round three), the game will install an Overlord and six warchiefs. Assign the strongest followers to go to the pitts and set up betrayl missions, just like in the main game. Once recaptured, you've completed the round.
It's a lot easier attacking than defending. But I wouldn't go out your way to kill yourself killed just to do it.
I've also come across that if you don't reach a captain in time before they bleed out, once you loose the keep, they come back for revenge during setting up the attack. I'd advise rebranding them, as they always come back more powerful than when they died. For example, I have an Assassin, Pûg the Poet, he died at level 36 and came back for revenge at level 48, also had an extra Epic trait in his arsenal.
It'a also, worth holding onto your Might metre to ressurect dead captains.
Minas Morgul is the only city that won't come under attack.
There are 10 rounds and 20 defences in total.
Round One: Cirinth Ungol
Round Two: Nurnen
Round Three: Seregost
Round Four: Gorgoroth
Round Five: Cirinth Ungol and Nurnen
Round Six: Seregost and Gorgoroth
Round Seven: Nurnen and Seregost
Round Eight: Nurnen, Cirinth Ungol and Gorgoroth
Round Nine: Cirinth Ungol, Serehost and Gorogoth
Round Ten: All four under attack at once.
Once completed you will see the true ending.

This achievement popped for me before I even started the final defense (4/4) on round 10. It popped while I was sorting my army in the menu prior to starting.

This sounds to be like a glitch they'll remove from the game to me.

Maybe is it due to a recent update, but my Shadow War Run needed only 3 stages :
- Cirith Ungol
- Nurnen
- Nurnen, Seregost, Gorgoroth
After what, the achievement popped and i was able to see the Cutscene.
All other advice on this topic are of course very useful.
On my side I used a lot the Pit Fight (Champion level) to bring strong captain in the game. I faced them with one of my captain, who has a chance to win. Two possibilities : my captain win, and he grow up very fast, OR he loses, so I dominate the winner to add him to my army. Beware the strong capabilities of the opponent which can be shown with RS before the fight : he must not have "strong will" (i don't know the exact word in english) or you will have to kill or humiliate him.
-> With this technique I was able to quickly get a team of lvl 50+ warlords.

Great guide man! This is by far genius. When the enemy wins the pit fight he spawns directly beside you as well so you just weaken then dominate him. Having the Shadow Dominate makes it even easier. Thanks!

I had a glitch while on Stage 3 (Seregost). I died but the fortress. When I was back to the map, the fortress was still mine, there was a Nemesis mission for the orc that killed me but I can continue since I the fortress is mine! It doesn't appear as completed either, I'm afraid I won't be able to finish it... has anyone suffered somehting similar?

To add on to the above tips....
If you're ever in a situation where you're about to die from a "No Chance" Captain, you can simply hit the Home button on your controller before he kills you and quit out of the game from the Home menu. When you restart, you'll still have your fortress intact. Youll have to do the fortress battle over again, but it sure as hell beats having to infiltrate 6 fucking Warchiefs in order to retake the castle, which can take hours!

I got hit by a no chance overlord after defeating/branding all his warchiefs. When i tried the siege again, only the warlord was there and I went straight to the jeep when I started the siege. Happened twice in a row before I beat him.

*edit*
Due to the changes to microtransactions my solution won't work anymore!
**edit_end*
The guide above is good. There is a loot box trick to get unlimited Loot-Boxes with ingame currency. With these you can get Orcs close to your current level -> No Orc training required.
Here is how:
1. Make sure your latest save is synched to cloud
2. Go to ingame market an buy standard loot boxes with ingame currency (Mirian, spend everything you can)
3. Once purchased, quit to main menu BUT leave the game up and running!!!, go to Dashboard, highlight Shadow of War, press -> Manage game. Choose to delete your save game on console only! Do not delete everywhere!!!!
4. Because you deleted the save, Shadow of War will be closed. Start it.
5. On startup it will sync your cloud save -> You have all your Mirian back and because the loot boxes are saved on WB servers you still have the ones you purchased.
6. Repeat with step 2
THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH PREMIUM CURRENCY!!! as this is stored on WB servers, too!

Story related and cannot be missed
Note: As of the July 17th update, the amount of siege missions required to be completed has been reduced
This will unlock upon completing Act 4. This is where you will be defending your fortress again and again until 100% completion.

Note: As of the July 17th update, the amount of siege missions required to be completed has been reduced
This will unlock upon completing Act 4. This is where you will be defending your fortress again and again until 100% completion.
General tips and advice:
- Defences - By using Reinforced Stone/Metal Walls, Iron Gates, Hellfire and Spike Walls you reduce the risk of a perimeter breach dramatically.
- Dominate Captains/Warchiefs - Always dominate high level enemy warchiefs, they can stay in the siege and help out and you can use them to replace your lower level orcs.
- Siege Beasts, Drakes - Often attacking forces will have Siege Beasts and Drakes, get rid of them ASAP, dominating a Drake is also an excellent way of killing enemy captains and warchiefs quickly.
- Bodyguards - Always assign bodyguards to your warchiefs, this dramatically improves survivability of your warchiefs, assign one to yourself as well.
- Useful Skills - Shadow Dominate (finish Eltariel quests), Ice Storm, Chain of Souls, Call Graug, Enrage Followers. These all have general uses to make dominating warchiefs and combat a bit easier to manage in these hectic battles.
- Undying Loyalty - Finish all Minas Morgul Pit Fights to unlock this skill. You can resurrect any warchiefs/captains killed in a Siege, but they will be 5 levels lower than they were before.
Story related, cannot be missed.
This achievement will unlock after completing the Shadow War missions that unlock after completing the main story of the game.

After patch 1.18, Act 4 was greatly shortened; now you need to go through 3 periods and defend only 5 fortresses.
Period 1-2: 1st siege
3rd period: 3 sieges
About upgrades as written above:
-Iron walls;
- Fire or poisonous walls;
- Squad of Ax Warriors;
- Fire breath (dragon at the gate);
- Damned siege beasts (personally, I installed fiery ones);
- Vigilant archers;

If you lost a fortress, don’t be upset, enslave all the orcs in the area and recapture it (probably possible without enslaving, but it will be more difficult), and voila the trophy has fallen, there will be no more defense of the fortress, otherwise I thought I’d also have to go through the defense again.

The most hemorrhagic section of the game in order to get the full ending. It consists of 10 periods, you have to defend the fortress across the entire map, if you fail the defense you will have to recapture the fortress and before that save the leader who was captured. I advise you to recruit fighters on the battlefield and immediately leave them to fight for you , the people will not interfere. If you can’t recruit, lower the level and the captains will leave the battlefield. Sometimes it was not clear what was happening on the map, due to the accumulation of orcs. And + of course, spiders and graug to help.

I did it much simpler, at the moment when the orc is already swinging at you and you have no chance of repelling, just press the magic PS button, go to the main menu of the console and start the game again. The checkpoint will be in the fortress right before you start defending it.

Everything is much simpler, you put weak captains in defense, drain the citadel, and then make a capture, capturing is much easier than defending.
At the same time, you recruit someone and disgrace someone.
The battle with the captain in the citadel is very simple if you use a strike from the shadows with attraction, climb onto the ledge where a couple of archers usually stand, and using the “strike from the shadows with attraction” we attract the captain and unwind him there.
