Is this missable if you’ve completed the shadow wars?

It does work, amazingly. lol.

I had one existing bodyguard and one of my guys who infiltrated to be the second bodyguard. Achievement popped as soon as I started the Betrayal Mission.

It may even work with two infiltration bodyguards. Not sure but I don't see why it wouldn't since one and one worked, you know?

Anyways, point clarified. Should make getting this achievement a little less random and a bit easier even.

It is possible to have two of your followers complete an infiltration mission for a warchief allowing the betrayal mission to become available.

This achievement is flagged as miss-able. Surely it's not miss-able since the game is open ended and it seems like you could do this cheevo at any time, including after the main game has ended. I seem to recall a similar achievement in Shadow of Mordor and I did it after completing the main game

Badly glitched achievement. I did this 3 times, it finally unlocked after power cycling my xbox and doing it a 4th time.

Just for someone who just started the game I recommend to do this achievement before end of Act 3 because in Act 4 it will be sooooooooo time consuming

I had to do this twice. The first time, with two spies, the achievement didn't unlock. Read another comment in another glitchy achievement thread that power cycling might help so that's what I did. Converted all of the war chief's bodyguards first until the betrayal mission popped up. Then restarted my console, force quit the game, and then started it back up and started the mission. Popped instantly.

Is this possible to do in anyway after completing all of the siege missions? I 100% completed the main quests but missed this achievement when playing through

Is this achievement possible by commanding a captain to do an infiltration mission and thus becoming a given Warchief's bodyguard?

For instance I've recently started shadow wars and purposefully lost the fortress in Stage 5 Cirith Ingol. All the Warchiefs only have one bodyguard at the moment, probably because my guys are taking up too many slots. I chose one and dominated his sole bodyguard. Then I commanded one of my guys to infiltrate the Warchief and he won and became a second bodyguard. I'm about to start the betrayal mission now actually and was wondering if this was all a waste of time. So I thought I'd put it out here and see if anyone knew the answer to this.

TL;DR - Do the two bodyguards have to be existing bodyguards or is infiltration an option?

I will post back once I complete the betrayal mission with my results. Figure some clarification on this issue will be helpful once I find a concrete answer.

To Be Continued...

During Act 2 you can start to dominate Orcs.
Pick any fortress and find a Warchief with at least two Bodyguards.
Find the bodyguards and dominate them. On the second city you go to during this act you can send them to become spies after dominating by pressing cn_X. Do this for all bodyguards and a new mission called "betrayal" will spawn. Complete this to unlock the achievement.

If the weakest Warchief doesn't have any bodyguards, go to "Army" and select a warchief. Press cn_Y to command and then hover over the Warchief and press cn_A. This'll set up a new mission for the fighting pitt. If you're Captain is successful, he'll become the warchiefs bodyguard (spy for you).

The Warchiefs are located on the Army menu standing on the wall. There are 2 of them. Hover over each of them and it will show you their bodyguards. Chose a warchief that has at least 2 bodyguards and then target one of the bodyguards. Take their health down until you can dominate them, and then Recruit them, on the next menu you can press square to turn them into a spy.

If the bodyguard is too high level to recruit, you will first have to shame them after dominating them and then target them again to recruit.

Once you have all their bodyguards as spies, you will get a new Quest called Betrayal. Starting this quest will unlock the trophy.

If you have to kill the bodyguard in your attempt to recruit them, you can send one of your recruits from the Army screen to Infiltrate the warchief by selecting Command on them and then highlighting the warchief and infiltrating. They will then get a quest that you can watch to fight in an arena. They have to win the fight for this to work, so it could take multiple tries depending on the level on your recruit and the target they have to fight. If they lose, they will die and you will have to get another recruit to try again.

Alternatively, you can go to one of the fast travel towers and advance time. This will change the army and put new bodyguards in place.

To unlock this achievement you need to turn all of a Warchiefs bodyguards against him, then confront him. To do this you first need the skill 'Dominate Captain' that you unlock during the story. Once you have this find one of the Warchiefs that guards a fortress and make sure he has at least two bodyguards. You can see his bodyguards and by extension count them when you hover over a Warchief there will be a white line connecting him to another Orc. You need to now find each of the Warchiefs bodyguards and dominate them to recruit them, then when you have recruited them you are immediately given the option to have them infiltrate their master, so do this. You have to dominate and turn into spies all of the Warchiefs bodyguards and not just two, so if he has three they all need dominating and turned, you can't kill one and turn the other two. If you can't dominate any of the Warchiefs bodyguards because they have the 'Iron Will' trait then you will need to find another Warchief with at least two bodyguards.

Once you have dominated and recruited the bodyguards of a Warchief you can begin a mission to confront them. Complete the objectives at the start of the mission to draw the Warchief out, then his bodyguards/your spies will turn and betray him, unlocking this achievement.

MissableGlitched!

The earliest opportunity to earn this trophy is during Act 2, after learning the skill to dominate Captains. After completing Act 4 this becomes unobtainable as all Forts become allied and can't be retaken.

In the army menu, below the Overlord you will see the Warchiefs that are assigned to the fort. Hover over one to see lines that are pointing to the bodyguards of said Warchief, if they have at least two proceed to dominate those Captains and command them to infiltrate the Warchief by pressing . Now play the mission to draw out the Warchief and the trophy will immediately unlock.

If none of the Warchiefs have bodyguards or only 1, just command your own Captains to infiltrate the Warchief, complete the resulting mission and that orc will become it's bodyguard.

There have been reports of this trophy not unlocking despite satisfying the requirements. If you are affected, kill off any current Warchief and allow random orcs to kill you a couple of times so that they get promoted to Warchief, now command two of your Captains to infiltrate that Warchief, play the infiltration missions and the trophy should unlock when you confront him.

I did it when there were two recruits - the trophy did not drop. Recruited three dropped out as soon as the betrayal mission began.

To simplify things, I recommend not introducing new spies to the leader, but recruiting his bodyguards and choosing “Order to infiltrate” when recruiting.

This will save you time because... As long as the leader has at least one unrecruited bodyguard, the task of betrayal will not open, and there will also be no need to go on the Quest to introduce a spy (Pit).

At the first fortress in the second act, he recruited one of the leader’s bodyguards, killed the second by mistake - an ally helped. He took one of his supporters and ordered him to ask to become the leader’s bodyguard. I came to the fighting pit, watched the ritual fight of my challenger (he won) and received two of my supporters as the leader’s bodyguards. Indicated the leader as a target for attack. I think the trophy fell out at the start of the battle, but I’m not 100% sure.

The Betrayal mission appears if the leader has at least two LIVING recruited bodyguards. Of course, you can recruit everyone, but if suddenly, like me, you accidentally killed your bodyguard(s) or some are not recruitable, don’t worry. The main thing is to leave at least two alive and recruit them. And I’ll add one more thing: you just need to engage in battle with the leader (hit him at least once). If you just stand on the sidelines and wait for the bodyguards to kill him, then the trophy will not fall out.
