How to unlock the The Stuff of Legend achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Definitive Guide

The easiest set is not the Bright Lord set, but the Vendetta set, especially as you don't have to complete the Shadow Wars to obtain it. It is available during Act 2, as soon as you obtain the ring.

Note: once you complete Act III, you are given a special legendary set which is not obtainable through normal gameplay. Until Act III, the collection does not appear in the Legendary Sets of the Inventory menu, for spoiler reasons. You can choose to wait until then, or if you want to earn a set earlier, follow below.

Note 2: If you have the The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion for Middle-earth: Shadow of War, you will obtain 5 legendary sets as part of the side quests required for Complete in Defeat in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. They are mission rewards and each region has a new set.
.

To access the Legendary Vendetta set:
- Press cn_start to access the menus
- Select Inventory
- Scroll to the furthest right option and select View Legendary Sets
- Select the Vendetta list (5th right, top row - image is a red X)

You need to obtain 6 different Legendary items for this set, but some can be obtained at the same time. The list is as follows:
Vendetta Sword: Complete your first Vendetta Mission and finish all objectives

- Vendetta Dagger: Use a Stealth Attack against an Online Vendetta target

- Vendetta Bow: Get a headshot on an Online Vendetta target

- Vendetta Armor: Kill an Online Vendetta while above 80% HP

- Vendetta Cloak: Use a mounted attack against an Online Vendetta target

- Vendetta Ringcraft: Dominate an Online Vendetta target
This can be done in under two hours. Focus on the weaknesses and strengths of targets. A lot of Vendettas seem to take place in forts, so use your environment to your gain.

I did this in Núrnen, where the fort has a couple of drake baits. I found it beneficial to attract them, and let them cause damage whilst I ran around doing what needed to be done. When the drake was broken, I mounted him and caused further damage, taking out all of the captains for their equipment and dealing with the target when applicable. Note that you do need to unlock the Shadow Mount and Dragon Rider skills in the Mounted section of the skill tree.
For the cloak, you can either use the Call Mount or Shadow Mount skills. Caragor Breaker is also useful, and all three are found under Mounted in the skill tree.

I chose the Bright Lord as the rewards for Vendettas are random. I still don't have the cloak and I've done more than the amount of missions for the Bright Lord's quests.

I think there may be a wording error with the mounted attack for the cloak. I killed the target using a mounted beast (Dire Caragor) so that may be the issue.

They are not random rewards but set requirements.

Could be, I noticed that during one of the Bright Lord Quests for the Gem reward. It words it as if you need to set them on fire, but you actually need to kill them whilst on fire.

I think Drake fire is buggy in this game. For a mount, I used a dire caragor.

Maybe the drakes don't count. I have seen similar results with drakes on other challenges. Mounts are probably caragors and grugs. Let me know if that helps.
If anyone else has an issue with the drakes not awarding rewards, please comment and I will update the solution.

Achievement is bugged, along with 3 others for me. Fuck this game.

It should be noted clearer that the far easier set to acquire is the [SPOILER] set given at the end of Act III.

So I have three sets, The Bright Lord, The Vendetta and whatever the story line one is. Achievement will still not pop, any ideas? For Clarification I've had the other two sets for a while but only got the vendetta set tonight (Trying to get this as it's my last achievement) Really frustrating being denied the last achievement for no reason.

I went for the Vendetta set, as I was only low levelled and had only one Fort taken. It actually gave me some of the items (Bow and Cloak) on a failed mission, which was a pleasant surprise. I must have fulfilled the requirements before dying. Popped as soon as I had equipped all 6, thankfully, so I seem to have dodged the glitch.

I had gone in and selected the Vendetta set and the achievement did not pop. I opened the legendary set again and noticed that it said set bonus 3/4. I went down and selected the items that did not have EQUIPPED over them and I had a choice of changing them. When I equipped all of the items, the achievement popped. Hope this helps some of you. I did this all on the legendary sets screen.

Well I fluked getting this set, didn't know there was specific objectives tied to it just thought they dropped after each Vendetta. I guess I just happened to do the right things in those Quests

So I killed an online target while mounted on a Drake and breathing fire on him and didn’t get the cloak. Does it just become a random reward then?

Edit: I just killed one while mounted AND above 80% HP and got neither

For those that do not want to worry about completing the Shadow of the Past missions or completing objectives in online vendettas, you earn a full Legendary Gear set when you finish Act III of the game.

There are 9 sets before the end of Act 2.
The easiest to obtain and equip is the "Bright Lord" set.
You must complete the Ithildin Door's this will grant you as rewards.
Bright Lord Sword
Bright Lord Dagger
Bright Lord Bow
Bright Lord Armour
Bright Lord Cloak

After completing all of these. Complete all Shadow of the past missions in
Minas Ithril/Morgul
Gorgoroth
Cirinth Ungol
Nurnen
Seregost
There are 21 in total, four in each city. You'll know that city is finished when you brand an Ancient Warchief. You only need to complete the main objective to get the reward we need.

Completing these grants you the Bright Lord Ringcraft, which completes the set.
Go to the inventory and equip everything, the achievement will pop imediately.

To unlock this achievement you need to equip a full Legendary Gear set. You find Legendary Gear sets as loot for doing certain missions and from opening the Ithildin doors and playing the Online conquests. There are ten sets of Gear to collect, though you only need any one full set for this achievement. You can find them listed in your inventory and if you hover over any piece you are told how to unlock it. You will most likely unlock at least one full set by playing the game, however the easiest and quickest set to unlock is the Vendetta set that is all unlocked by performing certain actions during the Online Vendetta missions.

Once you have a full set, equip them all and the achievement will unlock.

Story related and cannot be missed

You will automatically be given a full Legendary set before the boss fight at the end of Act 3 which will be automatically equipped.

A full set can obviously be found prior to this point if you get lucky or play a lot of Vendetta missions. Note that it all pieces must be a part of the same actual set (Vengeance, Bright Lord etc), equipping random Legendary gear on all slots won't unlock the trophy.

You don't have to worry about collecting the whole set. At the end of the third act, receive a set before the boss battle.

The bright lord kit will apparently be available after collecting all the glyphs in all cities and opening the doors (I only have one left).

And if you go to network vendettas, the “vendetta” kit will be received much earlier (which is what I did). I collected most of them in the first act, having fun and understanding the combat; if I had wanted to, I would have collected the set even before the second act. And so I finished off according to my mood during the second.

All items must be from one set. Set of the Light Lord: 5 pcs. - ithildin doors, and the ring for fulfilling all the “shadows of the past”
