How to unlock the Forger achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Definitive Guide

Gems can be found on enemies that carry loot (white triangle on the hud and white in wraith mode), at destroyed monuments, and completion of challenges in missions.

Once you have the same three gems, head to the inventory, ensure none of the three are currently equipped, press cn_A to Slot Gem. Then hold cn_X over the three to Combine Highlighted Gems and it will unlock.

If you want to improve the quality of gems dropped by enemies, you can purchase an upgrade in the skill, if you have collected all Gondorian Artifacts. First, purchase the Treasure Hunter skill (5th option of the Wraith Skill tree) and then the Upgrade: Prospector (option 3 of Treasure Hunter). Note that this is merely an option and you can easily get this achievement without it, but it may help when trying to forge a top tier gem for Master Forger in Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

During chapter one you will be introduced to the Gem system through a tutorial on how to equip them. You can earn another achievement by following my guide I posted here:
Middle-earth: Shadow of WarRule of ThreeThe Rule of Three achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of War worth 17 pointsUnlock 3 Gem slots.

You will first need to kill as many enemies as possible to get the random gem drops that they sometimes leave behind after their death. There are 3 possible Gem colours which include Green, Red & White. After you have 3 of the same Gem, make sure that they aren't equipped and do the following:
cn_start -> Inventory -> cn_down -> cn_A -> Hover over the gems you want to combine -> Hold cn_X

To unlock this achievement you need to combine three gems to create a higher quality one. There are five levels of gem in the game and for every three you get you can combine them together to get one of the next level. You find gems as loot from killing Orcs that have a white symbol above their head as well as rewards for completing quests and usually for completing the bonus or secondary objectives in quests.

Once you find three of any of the three types of gem, Warrior (red), Life (green) or Wealth (white) combine them together by hovering over them in your inventory and holding . Note that you have to have them unequipped from your equipment or you won't see them in your gem inventory.

Firstly you need to unlock at least one gem slot, see Rule of Three.

Gems are dropped at random from Orcs highlighted in white on the mini-map and when using in wraith world. They can also be obtained as rewards for fulfilling all main and optional objects in Shadows of the Past quests where you play as Celembrimbor, and by destroying monuments.

Gems are categorised as Warrior, Life or Wealth Gems; you need 3 of the same type to forge a higher tier one.

Once you have 3 gems of the same type go in to Inventory > > . Highlight over the 3 gems and hold and this will forge them in a single gem of the next tier. Removing gems from your equipment will also add it back in to your inventory so you can use them forging as well.

When killed, some orcs drop gems to improve equipment (there are green, red, white). Having collected 3 identical gems (in the equipment menu when selecting them), press and 3 gems turn into 1 of better quality.

Best done after conquering a fortress! We break the statues, restart the game, the statues are back in place.
