Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Previous solutions did not help, even tried for hours… So got mine. :) This WAS my last achievement. I finished the game, I am on the max level 60, but you can use the method earlier, just at the end, it is very easy with this. The achievement requires a captain, but NOT enemy. This is important.

In short: Mount an olog, while one of your follower captain bleed out, so dies.

1. You must resurrect a captain - Y on dead follower in ARMY screen, level doesn’t matter. Important to resurrect, because the undead Captain can not betrayal, if attack him. Make him bodyguard.

2. Change your bow to a low one. So if you missed the shot you can try immediately, because don’t make much damage and/or fire/poison effect which avoid to jump/ride the Olog. I used a level 18 Legendary.

3. Go to Gorogoth Fortress – maybe other fortresses good as well or somewhere you can find an Olog. In the fortress no one will attcak you (IF THE FORTRESS IS YOURS!), so easier. Find a chained Olog, there are many (red icons on the small map, left bottom). Tip: kill your followers near it, if want (skill tree bottom right skill „Destroy followers” to explode heads), so they won’t attack the olog upon release and won’t disturb You to aim/jump on it.

4. Summon the bodyguard and hit until bleeding (won’t betrayal :) ). The bleeding time is 60 secs. The „Ride on the Olog” is 10 secs (+ release and aim time). So when less than a quarter left of the bleeding (~10 secs the best, so you have time for 2nd shot if 1st missed/can not jump on Olog), release the Olog (RB next to him), aim, shoot his head with a fully charged arrow and hit RB to mount the olog. For this, you MUST stand near him! If you are mount the olog, don’t have to go anywhere and don’t have to be near the Bleeding Bodyguard, because he will die by all means, and if one of your followers bleed out the system will shows you, even you are on the other side of the world. :) So just wait for the achievement. Achievement pop. Got it my second try! (On first try my level 62 arrow made fire effect and the olog pushed away, so can not get on him)

If somehow you missed it, just start over, the undead can be ressurrect over and over again for free. I recommend to try this just later in the game or at the end.

You will need an enemy Olog captain in the army menu with the Gang of Ologs in their Bonuses tab. You can use a worm to find intel on captains, or shun an Olog captain follower to turn them against you. You can even use loot box cards to summon the follower you need if necessary.

Now, you'll want to mark the Olog and find them in the game. Approach him or enter the mission and check to see if he has his gang of Ologs nearby. Even with this bonus, it is not guaranteed. If there is a nearby Olog, you can begin.

The goal here is to get the Olog Captain to almost no health without killing them. You'll need to have them under 5%, but the lower the better. Once the captain is low on health, get close to an Olog, headshot them with an Elf-Shot to daze them and immediately mount them. Once on top, ride the Olog and steer him into the captain while shanking him. If done correctly, the mounted Olog will do enough damage to kill the captain, gaining the achievement.

If you fail to kill him and there are no remaining Ologs or yo're scared that something else might kill him, dominate him and shame him to save him for later and also bring his level down making your next attempt even easier. Repeat until necessary.

I managed to do this one without much difficulty on the Tûr Celebrimbor mission (in Lithlad). You fight two captains (one is an Olog with the Soft Head weakness) in a very small enclosed area. Just clear out all the grunts, whittle the orc captain down until he's Broken, shoot the Olog captain to stun him, climb aboard, and just keep walloping the broken captain until he dies. I only had to mount him twice after breaking the orc, so it was pretty straightforward.

A reliable way to do this is to use the Bodyguard perk of the Call follower skill.

Go to Gorgoroth and Fast Travel to the top right Haedir. One or two bound up Ologs always spawns just below the tower and there's a clear area just beside it to fight undisturbed.

Call your Captain (level doesn't matter but I found that it was easy to accidentally kill him if he was too low) and start hitting him.

After a few hits he'll betray you for:


Get him very low without killing him 1-5% health should be enough. Free your Olog and stun him so you can mount him and whack away on your Captain.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Here's the method I found easiest. I decided to try this method after attempting Sodernaut's solution. The problem I found with the location he picked was that there was only two Ologs to use and often I would aggro enemies from nearby.

I briefly remembered a spot behind the Gorgoroth Keep that always had Ologs tied up. The spot is pictured below:




On my attempt there were 4 enemy Ologs being held prisoner by my orc army. I killed my allied orcs off before summoning in and subsequently betraying my bodyguard. I found from my many attempts that using a Olog Captain was the easiest way to dodge around attacks and stay alive while trying to slowly take their health down. Using this spot I had plenty of time since there were no interruptions from other ads. Let me know if this works for you!

A few helpful notes:
1) You must have the ability active "Summon Bodyguard" under the story skill upgrade tree
2) Using an Olog captain makes it easy to release the Olog prisoners as needed since you can use the counter option and use the stun time to cut their chains.
3) If you find yourself dangerously low on health you can dominate the captain you're trying to kill and choose the option to fight to the death. This will allow you to regain health and stay in the fight.
4) If you haven't conquered the Gorgoroth fort yet this method will still work. The only difference is it will be your Ologs that are held prisoner and Sauron's bodyguards watching over them.

After countless amount of hours with no success, I managed to get the achievement through Online Conquest. When you get to the confrontation with the overlord, there is an unlimited spawn of Ologs and I believe arrows as well(Need to confirm). I got the achievement on my second attempt since the first Overlord killed himself with splash damage but the second one was an archer so it made stunning the Ologs and directing them to him much easier.

Maka's guide is great to start off from but I was having trouble with either the captain dying, myself dying or the ologs just not cooperating. What I did was find a captain with the gang of ologs bonus and dominated him. This allows you to have the option to make him your bodyguard (go to the army menu, select the captain and press than ), do so.

Now go to a secluded place on the map, I used a place in Cirith Ungol behind the north west Headir. Summon the bodyguard and than hit him until he is betrayed. This will unlock the following achievement if you have not already got it:



Now wait until the captain calls upon his gang of ologs and start getting him to very low health. Hopefully he will have called more than one olog during the battle. When he is low on health, shoot an olog in the head or perfect counter with to stun, and than mount the olog using . Now press to stab the olog, causing the olog to swing his weapon which you need to use to hit the captain repeatedly. Hopefully you will kill him first try, but if not repeat with another olog.

Tip: Only use Arrows in the fight to stun ologs. Don't waste them, depending on location there might be no pickups for arrows.

Watch Maka's guide if you want a visual guide on how to do this, but I found using the bodyguard system to work wonders! Worked first try in my experience.

After many hours of trying and many failed attempts this is what finally worked for me:

1) find a Captain with "Sickly" weakness
2) Find an Olog captain, make him your bodyguard, and equip him with a poisonous weapon. I had one in my collection so either i was lucky or most people should also have one.
3) Hunt down the Sickly captain, beat him down to as low as you can trust he wont die.
4) Summon Bodyguard, mount, and start swinging.

The poisonous weapon makes real short work of a Sickly captain.

The first time i tried this i was thrown off the olog before the captain died, so it's best to beat them down a bit.

I just picked whatever captain showed up next. I chose an Olog follower as my bodyguard. Wack the captain until he is almost dead, summon bodyguard, shoot follower in head, mount, kill captain.

*DO NOT give a follower Captain the 'Gang of Ologs' perk and then boot him as a follower.
He will lose the Gang of Ologs perk.
**I just did this, and found out the hard way.

After countless efforts of trying to bring the enemy captain to extremely low health and mounting an Olog I could not seem to run the Olog into enemy captain no matter how many times I tried. In most cases I would ended up killing the Olog before landing enough hits to kill the low health captain. So I tried something different:
1) I located a Captain with Gang of Ologs perk
2) Ensured his Ologs were actually there (sometimes they are not there, if this is the case advance time at a Headir Point)
3) Weakened the Captains health so he was near death (low amount of health left on his health bar)
4) Applied an elemental damage of some sort (in my cause my critical strike caused the captain to become poisoned but that requires a percentage and some luck. I would recommend applying an ability such as fire or poison to your Mighty Shot or Elven Might)
5) Quickly stun an Olog (shot it once in the head with a charged arrow and you should see little stars above its head) and Mount it
6) If the timing was right the enemy captain will die from the elemental damage while you are mounted on one of his Ologs. You won't even have to run the mounted Olog into the Captain in the hopes of hitting him.
If done successfully the achievement should unlock. I believe I have a clip of it on my Xbox one that I can also add if there is any confusion.

If you wanna unlock this achievement you dont worry about perks or something, just need this:
1 Captain (anyone)
Search for Ologs in the zone (more than one it's better)

Objetive:
Hit the Captain almost kill him (Dominate zone or more), sorrounds the area and headshot a Olog with the Bow in the maximun charge, the Olog must be Stunned, just run quickly and press <sup>Talion climb in the Olog back, now press and close the Captain to kill him.

Note:
You can search for Gang of Ologs bonus, this bonus it's very rare but it will makes things easier (5 Ologs to try kill the Captain) but the Ologs they are not easy enemies.

I struggled a little getting this achievement. Here is the video of how I eventually got it sacrificing one of my followers in my own fort as he betrayed me.

As an alternative line of attack.

Step 1. Fing an olog captain with the Clumsy vulnerability.
Step 2. Dominate him and make him your bodyguard making sure you have the Bodyguatd upgrade active for the Call Followers skill
Step 3. Find a low level captain, attack him to get him to low level of health
Step 4. Call your bodyguard
Step 5. Jump on him as soon as possible, otherwise he may finish the captain off given half a chance, then shank the olog until you kill the enemy captain, if you het thown off you can just jump back on pretty much straight away

I was dreading this achievement because the other guides seemed really complicated, however there is an insanely easy way to do this that got me this achievement first try.

To do this, you need to have the ability to summon bodyguards and the ability to dominate captains, both of which you get relatively early on in the game.

Once you have those abilities, you need to dominate an Olog Captain and make them your bodyguard.

Once you have done this, you need to seek out another captain and get them to the broken health state. Once they’re broken, summon your Olog Bodyguard, and shoot him in the head with an arrow before he can do anything. While your Olog Bodyguard is dazed, run up to him and use , this will allow you to ride on top of him. After this you can repeatedly tap to stab him causing him to swing, you want to target the captain and he should die in a few swings.

If done correctly, you can avoid doing too much damage to your bodyguard that he betray’s you, and you will get the achievement.
