How to unlock the You Hunger achievement in Midway Arcade Origins - Definitive Guide

This is another game that is notable for its high difficulty level. The frantic pace doesn't help make it any easier.

Fly your ship towards some planetoids, and focus your fire on them. Putting enough shots into a planetoid will cause it to shake, and small glowing pixels (the game calls them crystals) will appear. You need to grab these crystals, as they are converted to Sinibombs, which are essential to destroying Sinistar. If you shoot the planetoids too much, they'll explode.

Red Workers and gray Warriors are always flying around you at all times. Workers are harmless, but Warriors will shoot at you. I suggest killing them whenever they appear. if possible. You can ram into them without effect, so don't worry about that.

Sinistar takes 20 pieces to form, but only has 13 that you need to destroy. When you hear him say "Beware, I Live!", that means he's coming for you, so make sure you've harvested at least 13 Sinibombs. I'd aim to have as many as possible so you don't have to rely on pinpoint accuracy.

Watch the radar at the top of the screen so you're aware when Sinistar is close to you. He's much faster than you, so all you can do is out maneuver him. When he's on screen, drop your Sinibombs with B. They'll automatically home in on Sinistar as long as he's on the screen. If the message "Sinibomb Intercepted" appears, that means it missed the target.

Hit him 13 times and the achievement will unlock. You can (and will likely) lose lives when going for this, but as long as you destroy Sinistar before you run out, you're good.

It's just hard achievement after hard achievement in this game,, Thought it would be fun and easy , these ratios are extremely low for how hard they are.

Most of the achievements are easy, but not a fan of the ones that require you to kill a final boss / finish the waves (joust 2)

When I started this game, I had a feeling some of the achievements were going to be difficult. Video games were HARD back in those days.

This one would be so easy if the game didn't do everything in its power to avoid the god damn bomb pickups, oh my god
Edit: Got it first try after changing fire button to RT, which you can hold down instead of breaking your fingers tapping

For me, I would have at least 15 bombs so you're not screwed if you miss a couple, because once you're out of bombs while he's chasing you down, it's damn hard to get more. You can also spam the bombs as fast as you want, so wait until he's chasing directly behind and spam away.

Just want to aay, once you get 15ish bombs, just spam the bomb button. They seek him out.

My God that was difficult. One of the hardest in the collection for sure

First cheev I earned in the whole collection; got it on my first game without losing a life... mind you, I've been a Sinistar addict since I first played the coin-op about 30 years ago.
Here's some other tips -
The little red dudes will gather up the crystals you fail to pick up and use these to build Sinistar. Therefor, the more crystals you 'mine' and fail to pick up, the quicker Sinistar is built. You can recover 'stolen' crystals by killing the red dudes, they then drop the crystal which you can retrieve. Knowing this means that, with practise, it's not too hard to earn a full stock of sinibombs before Sinistar is complete.
Unrelated to the achievement, but a tip for those going for leaderboard scores - farm level 1.
You can fire sinibombs at the partially built Sinistar for points, so a method of mining crystals, allowing the red dudes to steal a few crystals to build Sinistar, and then launching sinibombs to reset Sinistars build back to a single piece, rinse and repeat, can earn a lot of points. But be aware that the grey 'security' ships tend to amp up their aggressiveness if you do this for a while.
Level 2 is almost too hard to consider farming, so aim to clear it as quickly as possible. You can carry over sinibombs from one screen to the next.
After level 2 it kind of just loops back to level 1 with a marginal increase in enemy aggressiveness and requiring you to destroy more Sinistar pieces.

This one is easy but tricky if you don't know what to do. You have a very short amount of time to shoot asteroids and collect the small pieces they drop before Sinistar, the big floating head, turns up. You need about 13 asteroid pieces to beat him. Once he turns up spam the circle button and it will launch missiles at Sinistar. Each missile is a piece of the asteroid you picked up hence why that's so important. It takes around 13 hits to kill him. If you die you can retry and Sinistar will still be weakened from his previous bout with you.

To sum up: Shoot asteroids, collect asteroid pieces, when Sinistar flies onto your screen spam circle until he dies.

This game is tough. I mean TOUGH. It's another space shooter with a handy-dandy map to help you track baddies and Sinistar himself. A few things to note in this game. The red guys can't harm you. They can bump you and steal asteroid chunks that make Sinibombs, but no damage. The gray UFO's, however, can and will kill you.

The point of the game is to collect asteroid chunks to make Sinibombs to defeat Sinistar once he forms. Just go around shooting baddies and shooting asteroids until they shake and release glowing orbs. Grab them as quickly as possible (they are unbelievably difficult to grab) and continue on to more asteroids. All the while you are doing this, Sinistar is doing the same to form his body/ship/whatever. When he has fully formed he will say "Beware. I live." Now he will appear and come after you. Make absolutely sure you have AT LEAST 13 Sinibombs, preferably more. I usually had 17-20 before he spawns.

Watch your map - Sinistar appears as a yellow dot - and when he gets near you, fly away. Drop sinibombs at a steady pace while going in one direction. If a message says "Sinibomb intercepted" it missed him. Do this 13 times and he is finished and you are one silver trophy richer!

This may take a few tries, like it did me, or a bit more practice but is no where near as bad as smash tv.

For this know that you will have to destroy ships and asteroids in order to pick up sinibombs with which to destroy sinistar, the longer you play the closer sinistar gets. you can slow the process by making sure no enemy ships are getting sinibombs back to sinistar, this makes him build faster. Depending on your luck the number of bombs you can gather before he arrives will help or hurt you. I had enough time to collect about 20 bombs before he showed up. Sometimes asteroids will spawn closer to you that are bigger making the gathering process easier. just focus on keeping enemies away from you and the bombs and gather as many as you can.

After you have collected enough bombs and sinistar has arrived fly the opposite direction away from him whilst shooting the bombs. I found liberally unloading causes some to miss so just fire them with minor intervals and he should explode.

to simplify the process, you need to shoot at meteorites from the very beginning (while there are few enemies) and collect white dots from them - these are bombs, only they cause damage to Sinistar (you need at least 13 of them, but I advise you to collect more since it’s not always manages to hit the fast and fussing boss)
