How to unlock the Gone Fishin' achievement in Minecraft Dungeons - Definitive Guide
Run through on a low difficulty on any aquatic map with at least one rod artifact and stun one of every mob you see. Peaceful mobs such as turtles, dolphin and squid COUNT. Bosses like elder guardian and the little guardians do NOT COUNT. The raid captain also doesn’t count.
Here’s a list of the mob needed
Drowned vine man
Drowned skeleton
Drowned zombie
Drowned Necromancer
Drowned slime
Pufferfish
Turtle
Squid
Glowing squid (found at the end of secret level Raviant ravine )
Didn’t count:
Elder guardian (boss and small ones)
dolphin
Raid captain

The drowned necromancer, as in the boss? I can't even hit that guy with the fishing rod so are you sure he counts?

The small guardian is needed for the achievement.

In my case I had to hit these mobs:
1. Drowned Vineman (This one from Jungle DLC)
2. Drowned Skeleton
3. Drowned Zombie
4. Drowned Necromancer
5. Drowned Slime
6. Pufferfish
7. Turtle
8. Glowing Squid
9. Small Elder Guardian
10. Dolphin
Far as I know some people unlocked the achievement without hitting: Dolphin, and Pufferfish. Also in my case the standard Squid did not count, I had to find Glowing squid (You can find it in the middle and the end in secret underwaterlevel).

The tracker does not go up for each one, so it's hard to say what does and does not count. The pufferfish was my last one, so it does count.

How did u manneged to hook The Necromancer?
By Aragimle on 03 Aug 2021 05:02
As of 9/21/23, I did not need the drowned Necromancer, supposedly this was a part of the achievement but it was removed from the requirements. (Read this on the bug ticket) All I know is I never hooked one so they don't seem to be required now. Also be aware, even the mobs that you are supposed to hook, half the time can't be hooked for no discernible reason.
Here is what I hooked:
Good luck
Here is what I hooked:
- Drowned vine man
- Drowned skeleton
- Drowned zombie
- Drowned slime
- Pufferfish
- Turtle
- Squid
- Glowing squid (Only saw them near the end of Radiant Ravine)
- Small guardian (Guaranteed at the end of Coral Rise)
- Dolphin
- Red, yellow, purple skeletons
- Armored, Grey Trident, blue trident, sword, normal, baby drown zombie
- Baby turtle
- Baby slime
- Illiger with crossbow
Good luck
In order to do this trophy, here's what you need to do with the fishing rod:
-(Baby) Drowned / Armored (Trident) Drowned
-Red or Yellow Armored Sunken Skeleton / Sunken Skeleton (Purple)
-Guardian
-Dauphin
-(Baby) Turtle
-Tropical Slime (Little ones after they're multiplying)
-Pufferfish (Little and Normal size)
-Squid
-Glowing Squid
-Wavewhisperer (First appearance since the Jungle Awakens DLC)
And last but not least, the HARDEST mobs of all time to hook...The Drowned Necromancer.
I tried it so many times, and it took me HOURS to do it, so I need help. I cannot do anything. :(

First, you need a fishing rod artifact, which you can find on a number of the main game levels. Then equip it and play through the various DLC levels to find and use your fishing rod on the mobs listed here:
- Drowned vine man
- Drowned skeleton
- Drowned zombie
- Drowned Necromancer
- Drowned slime
- Pufferfish
- Turtle
- Squid
- Glowing squid
